In the aftermath of the end of her world, April Tate decides that it’s high time to leave the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas. I received an eARC of this book, from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

I have loved reading this series! Alexia has done a superb job of bringing to life a new and creative angle on the post-apocalyptic novel. Once you thought that there wasn't possibly any more original sub-plots to add, she found a way to prove you wrong. And I, for one, was never so glad to be wrong as in that moment.

"When there’s so much death around you, love turns into a luxury, a petty indulgence.” I sniffed, my eyes stung. “Why fall in love when life is not guaranteed? It could be stolen from you in a split second. All love brings is loss.”

I read this paragraph and, not only did it resonate somewhere within me, but it gives quite an important look into April's state of mind throughout the majority of Amplified. After the loss of friends and family and, especially, the recent loss of her mother, there is a feeling of defeat deep within her soul. How many can one stand to lose before they start losing pieces of themselves?

Luckily, April is such a strong, grounded character that I believe that she is on her way to healing those emotional scars, by the end of the book. This is why I love her character so much. She is real. She is any one of us who has been through such an ordeal- such a life-changing event.

I felt a real sense of hope for the characters in the book, at the end. But, also, a sense of finality. I have hope that we will find out if their efforts towards a cure ever come to fruition, someday.

It's beautifully written and an emotional read!

It picks up beautifully where book two left off and it felt like I had never really left!
The story is amazing I love the direction it took minus the one scene that was so emotional and hard to read especially with tears blurring my eyes but I also enjoyed the introduction of the different and on some occasions eccentric characters we're introduced to in this book!
The twists, turns, and surprises with every chapter had me hooked and charged with adrenaline I think a few times I even had to hold my breath until I knew it was okay and everyone was safe again! (there were some close calls!) With every page I turned I wasn't sure what to expect next and I was blown away with the awesomesauce that is this author's creative mind and genius! This is by far one of the most amazing series I have ever read!

Omg.. once again Alexia does it. This story was amazing and picked up wonderfully where the last one ended. The characters as always totally rocked, the writing sucked me into the story and made me feel as if I was there. The writing was amazing and the plot amazed me. I cannot believe someone has all these amazing thoughts and characters in her head all the time. It must be fun. I loved reading the ARC of this book and cannot wait until its out so others can read it also. Brillant job Alexia, just brillant!

[Full disclosure: Alexia Purdy provided me with a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.]

I never quite know what to expect from Alexia Purdy but it’s usually good. Amplified was no exception. It was amazing!

April is a very changed person. She’s found the best friend she thought was dead, is blood-bonded to Christian (her former enemy) and is determined to find the cure for the vampire plague that’s devastated her entire world. Looking back on who she was in the first book, April has changed quite a bit. She has to learn to let go of her mother, who committed suicide and she must do the same with her little brother because he wants to stay in the underground human city. It’s time for her to grow up and move out and a lot of the book focuses on that as she journeys to find her way in a world that has been turned upside down.

The plot was very fast-paced, more so than the first two books in the series. You have April seeking a cure at Christian’s old colony and then her travelling elsewhere. There’s danger around every corner with Ferals and other nasty things lurking about. Alexia Purdy rarely lets the pace drop and when she does it’s only so you can catch your breath before she throws the next plot twist at you. It’s very intense and I honestly couldn’t put my Kindle down until I finished.

I liked how April’s world expanded throughout the novel. We get to travel to different places and see how badly they were hit by the plague. We get to see other parties vying for a cure and still others trying to suppress a cure at all costs. There are some very important moral questions brought up and I like how at the end there’s still some ambiguity surrounding whether or not to release a cure into the world. Have we seen the last of some of these important questions? Absolutely not! There’s still a long way to go and I know April will rise to face any challenges that come her way.

A kick-butt protagonist, excellent world-building, a fast-paced plot and some very interesting moral dilemmas make Amplified my favourite book in the Reign of Blood series so far. I can’t wait for book 4!

I give this book 5/5 stars.

Once I started this book I found it really hard to put down. Alexia is a very talented writer and it shows. This series is by far the best series she has written and I love, love, love it.
It picks up from where the last book left off with the death of Aprils mum Helen and Aprils love triangle - Blood binded mate to Christain and in love with Rye who loves her no matter what.
But April only has one thing on her mind and that is to find who drove her mum to kill herself. On the way she discovers a possible cure, but does it work?
I love the whole Vampires, Zompires, Hybrids etc.
This is a must read - the whole series is - and what is more, the first book is free to download.
I recommend this whole series to everyone.
My 12 year old daughter has started reading this series and is loving it already.
I do want to add..... this book could have ended the series right there and then because it was so beautifully rounded up. But I know there will be more in the series.

YES!! April is back and she is still kicking butt. I love April character and all her friend that refuse to leave her side no matter how hard she tries to push them away. I totally get her not wanting to fall in love when the world is falling apart but the fact that Rye refuses to give up on her and will be at her side no matter what. Because April needs it since trouble always finds her. Rye says it best, “if anyone can make it out of there April can”. Argh!! I am not going to say anymore, I hate spoilers.

Alexia is great at writing dystopian books; they are so creative and all done without the characters losing their humanity. I was lucky enough to get this book as an ARC and would recommend it when it (the whole series) to all you enjoy dystopian that is full of action and great characters you can’t help falling for!

Amplified was action packed from the first to last sentence. The plot was never lacking. What I really enjoyed about this book was the strong character development. April is a strong young woman who is struggling within and without to find a way to live her life and not just survive in a world that is dark and dangerous. She is determined to somehow live a purposeful life. Alexia's writing allows the reader to see April's soul. There was no weak point in Amplified. The description of the setting, the plot, and strong character development enabled me to get lost in the story.

I waited a long time for this third installment in the Reign of Blood series to come out, and it definitely did not disappoint me. For anyone who is a fan of Purdy's work, this is a must read! If you haven't tried any of Purdy's books, pick up Reign of Blood and see what the excitement is about. I thought this was a really fun addition to the series and the ending left me wondering if there might be more to come. In a market already full of dystopian young adult fiction, Purdy has created a unique and exciting world to explore.

This book was the perfect addition to the series; it really is just going from strength to strength. Action packed and gripping from start to finish, I was kept turning page after page late into the night just to read that little bit more. Incredibly well written and descriptive, fans of the series will not be disappointed (until the end and they have to wait for book 4!).

Wow! Amplified lives up to its name. It's a wild ride right from the start and keeps you turning the pages late in to the night. I love this author, this series and book 3 does not disappoint. I love the strength of the friendships and seeing the humanity in April come out. It keeps you guessing with the unexpected twist and turns and I love the way the book ends. 5 stars in my book! Bring on book 4

While I've enjoyed this series, obviously otherwise I wouldn't have continued reading, I've had the same issue with every book and that's April and while she annoyed me in the first two with her reckless silly decisions I actually grew to dislike her in this book which made reading difficult at times, I'm in the minority I know since most of the other reviews are really good.
This has been an interesting series, a great concept, I loved all the different variations and most of the characters.
Despite her 'go it alone' attitude, which always ends in disaster I might add and her doom and gloom attitude I think what annoyed me the most is that I like romance and April seemed determined to run as fast and far away from love as she can, these are all personality traits which I was aware of before I started this third book but on top of those in this book she decides she's going to find the cure and give it to everyone regardless of if they want it or not and this was the main problem for me I just didn't get it.
The story was really good and I've enjoyed the ride but I loved Rye and wanted him to be happy with someone who deserves him and for me this wasn't April.
When I finished this book although it wrapped up quickly I thought it had reached a natural end but from what I can gather there's to be at least one more book and while I've enjoyed the three I've read so far I doubt I'll be continuing on.

Of all of Alexia Purdy’s entourage of characters, April of her Reign of Blood series has always been my favorite. In Amplified, the young girl that has been forced to grow up too fast faces the ultimate conflict.

If there was a way to cure the world, would you do it?

On the surface the answer is simple, but what if there were factions that would fight it…or even others that would use it to their advantage? What if some refused, leaving them stronger than the others?

Would they then claim world leadership? Would that be the worst thing in the world…or the best?

Having spent the last few years fighting for her and her family’s survival, this bad-ass young woman must now weigh the consequences of saving humanity. It is a lot to put on her shoulders, and she must suddenly shift gears and take control of a world gone crazy.

I highly recommend this Amplified, as well as all of the Reign of Blood series.

What an amazing series this has been and one that I’m glad I was able to follow. I never wanted it to end but extremely happy about the way Ms. Purdy has concluded this wonderful read. If you have never read any of Ms. Purdy’s stories, this series is one that is well written and worth the time to take and read.
Searching for answers and finding more than she had hoped for, April is thrown into what could help and what could hurt those around her that have been thru this nightmare of what the world has come to. Does she follow her heart, or follow what everyone thinks she should do? Thank you Ms. Purdy for an amazing story and sharing it with your fans and hopefully new readers looking for a story that has amazing characters that they can love and follow.

In this the third installment of the series, we find April leaving her home and she goes in search of a cure. She has to make some serious choices on the way and each and every one can have an impact on the whole of humanity. No pressure right?

The only problem with this book, it ended. Alexia's take on vampires and zombies is original and exciting. April's life has been turned upside down because of a virus that caused the end of the world as she knew it. This book takes you farther into her fight to survive. There are surprises and twist that will keep reading. I sure hope this wasn't the last book.

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

For someone so young April Tate has been through a lot with the virus outbreak. A virus that has turned most of the population into feral vampires who only come out at night to feed and then there is the hybrid vampires who can go out during the day if it is a cloudy day. You also have the hybrid humans like April. April has lost a lot people due to the outbreak; before and after. April has a lot of people who love and care about her very much but she won't let them in. She is afraid of losing them and getting her all over again.

After the death of her mother in book #2 all April wants now is to find the one who is responsible for her death. She also wants to find the cure for the disease and help to put the world back the way it was. She wants to help all of the vampires to hopefully become human again. April finds out that her best friend Sarah is still alive and has been living with other humans in an underground city. When April decides that it is her place to go out and find the cure to the virus she leaves her little brother Jeremy with his newly adopted family in the human city.

April thinks she is going out on the road all by herself to find the cure and then go find someone that will help her make more. But she is so very wrong on this one. She thinks she is slipping out of the hybrid vampire hive that she has been living in alone but on her way out she runs into her best friend Sarah and her new friend Elijah. They care about April to much to just let her go off alone in a world that is infested with vampires. In this new world of theirs everybody needs someone to watch their backs. It is not safe out there alone. April thinks she is a loner and doesn't need anyone but she is more wrong than she knows. She is leaving behind the one person who cares and loves her more than his own life. But April is a strong and independent person who thinks that she doesn't need anybody. She hates leaving without telling him where she is going and what she is doing but she knows he will try to do whatever he can to stop her from going. But April has to go on this road trip to not only try to find someone who can help her with finding a cure but she also has to find herself again before she can ever let anyone in again, before she can love again. She knows or thinks that Rye will never understand this.

I have fallen in love with another series and author. I am so glad that I finally decided to read the Reign of Blood Series and can't wait to read more about April, Rye, Sarah, Elijah, Jeremy, Blaze, Miranda, Randy and the new guy Felix. Who were all of these people before the outbreak? I love the world that Alexia has created with the new twist on the vampires/zompires. Alexia will draw you into April's world so far that you almost get lost and can't find your way out again. The Reign of Blood Series is a fast paced read and keeps you on your toes afraid to turn the corner wondering what is on the other side. When you get to the other side you are still looking around waiting for it and the bam you are smacked right in the face with it. You never know from one minute to next what is going to happen. The Reign of Blood Series is awesome and if you have not read it then all I can say is you don't know what you are missing my friend.

We learn in book 2 there was a underground village where some hybrids were living along side humans. But their leader of course wasn't human. Elijah and a few other hybrids have decided to join Blaze's group being as they have become friends with April.
April is determined to find the person who drove her mother to go crazy within her mind and kill herself. So her group of friends Rye, Sarah, Elijah, Blaze and Christian all go off on this adventure. But it seems April has found herself in trouble again and this time her friends are included. They find the person responsible it is Rick but it seems there are more questions than answers that April receives. Rick knew April's mother Helen from before which was a shocker that I didn't even think of. April also learns there is a cure to this disease that could changed the world or at least Las Vegas. But while finding the cure people have been experimented on and have attracted more powers, or are completely different than before. The question to be asked is will April use the cure to help people including herself?
Once again April is torn with her feelings for Rye if you read book 2 Disarming than you know about the whole I wouldn't quite call it a love triangle but that is what it seems like. Rye loves April, April has feelings for Rye but she doesn't quite know what they are. And April and Christian are blood-bonded, but April doesn't really seem to have feelings for Christian. So yeah love triangle is the way it seems to be. April doesn't want to hurt Rye so she ventures off again on an adventure to find someone to help her with a cure and to help her with Randy who we find out within the book who Randy is actually to April. Sarah and Elijah go along with it all and all four of them seem to find themselves on the road but yet trouble seems to find them all again. What can possibly happen now you may ask? You have got to read the book to find out. The way the ending left off I wouldn't say it is a true cliff hanger but more I can see that there could be another book or two added to this series. I want to find out if there is a cure and if it will help. Or will this cure cause more problems for April and those around her?

The book is action packed and I love the characters more and more even the ones that are minor. You have got to get your hands on book one if you haven't already.

Still reeling from the loss of her mother, April Tate makes a decision that will change her life forever. She's determined in finding answers to the questions she harbors inside, and refuses to settle for the life she's been living. Deep inside, she knows there's something more out there. Something that will help explain how the vampires came to be. She just needs to find exactly what she needs to know.

Knowing that her current decisions affect everyone she's come across, most especially Jeremy, April knows that she can't let things be. The thought of living in such a chaotic world is mind-boggling, and she refuses to sit still while everything changes around her. She will find the information she seeks, and she will make the necessary changes in her life once she does.

Determined in making sense of the situation, April sets off on a quest to right every wrong in the world. Granted, things don't work out to her advantage, but she refuses to go down without a fight. What she's looking for is just on the horizon, and she'll do everything possible to come out on top. At least, that's what she wants to believe.

When an unexpected adversary climbs out of the woodwork, April soon realizes there's more to the situation than she knew. Part of her knows that she shouldn't trust her instincts. That she should leave well enough alone. Yet the thought of finding a cure some day is the only thing that drives her on. Somehow, some way, she will find exactly what she's looking for. Only then, will she be able to change the world as she knows it, and make it a better place for herself and those she loves.

Amplified picks up where Disarming leaves off, and does not disappoint. We're thrown smack-dab in the middle of the chaos that surrounds April and her beloved family. She's unsure of what she's doing, and uncertain as to whether she'll be able to make the world a better place. The girl is definitely full of determination as she strives to make sense of what's going on around her. I have a feeling that there's more to come for April and her friends. Truthfully, I can't wait to see what happens next!

Five Mega stars!!!
I'll be honest, Alexia Purdy is one of my all time favorite writers. She just manages to suck me in to EVERYTHING she writes.
I fell in love with this series two years ago with the first novel Reign of Blood. Which, by the way, is a must read.

Amplified begins with April, Rye, and the gang going through the desert in search of Christian's old hive. Of course, April is on her toes. Despite her bond with Christian, she doesn't trust him. Once they get there they discover the Hive houses some pretty HUGE secrets, and maybe even some devious plots. Things spiral out of control, in the best way possible after this.

The action is amazing in Amplified. It just jumped out at me as I was reading. I seriously envy Alexia's skills when it comes to getting the fast paced movements of a fight down so clearly.
April is awesome. She kicks some much butt, but is also completely human. She is majorly flawed and no more so than in Amplified. She's a grieving, but it's not overwhelming to the point where I wanted to stop reading because it got to be too much.

The maturity of this series has grown a little bit, but it's still a book I would easily hand over to a teen.

I'll be honest. I was not a fan of Rye in Reign of Blood and Disarming. I thought he held April, and even the story back a bit. I don't know what happened, but I was actually rooting for him and April. I remember leaving Disarming wishing for her and Christian to be together, but about 10% into this book my mind suddenly flipped, and I was 'shipping' Rye and April. To say that their relationship is messed up is an understatement.
Now if you are turned off by the idea of a love triangle I have to tell you to not be. This isn't that kind of romance. Yes there is a triangle, but that's not the story arc. It's just a character arc that April goes through. There is SO MUCH MORE going on in this book.

Amplified was a great installment to the RoB series. Thank you Alexia for giving me a copy to review.

Again, fantastic! April continues to work with the hive, but needs more and more time alone. Her mother has retreated into herself and is afraid she's becoming a monster, even afraid to sleep in the same bunkroom with April and her brother. More and more, fearing for her mother's sanity and her brother's safety, April leaves him with the hive to play games with Jeremy while she goes out to hunt and scope things out. And there are new people about that have been pushing the ferals out open windows to burn to ash. Rumors of a hidden safe city are swirling around, and April is determined to find it, and she does. After being captured and tossed into a cell, with non other than the other hive's leader she thought was dead, April does what she has to survive, and ends up being *mated* to the evil leader. She fights their connection after they make it out, along with her best friend pre-apocalypse and a group of other hybrid humans like her, but just barely.
There is so much more that happens in this book, and there's no way I could tell it all without ruining it for everyone else. Fantastic ending, everything is wrapped up, or could even be built on in another novel.

This is the 3rd and finally book in the Reign of Blood series and it's another great read! I highly recommend this whole series! I've loved everything I've read by Alexia Purdy!

Now that April's found and made it out of the underground city of Vida and with the help of new and old friends saving it & it's people from the creature that was in charge she has to figure out where to go from here. There is plenty of adventure and twists and turns that keep you reading and on the edge of your seat as April strives to steal the antidote and essentially sets out to save humanity.

I'm never happy to see a series end but I do have to say that Alexia did a really good job wrapping up this series. I wasn't left with as much wanting more as I usually am when a series ends but that's not to say that I wouldn't jump at the chance to read more if Alexia ever decides to write more about April, Rye, and the rest of the gang!

I received Amplified as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I honestly loved it!!!! What a great series. Action packed, with the heroine April being a strong female lead, but not overbearing. We've seen April evolve and grow, and become somewhat tougher since the first book, but still maintain her humanity and sense of right and wrong. She is still very much a 17 year old girl to a certain degree, with the same insecurities about what choices lay before her and whether she's choosing correctly...But also an amazing warrior who put's humanity and those she loves first.
All of Alexia's characters are believable and well written. I wish she could go on writing about them forever, but this was a good end to a fabulous trilogy.
If you have not read the first one, Reign Of Blood, go buy it! As a matter of fact, get all three!!! Once again Kudos to Alexia Purdy!!!

Have our world ended?

April and her mate Rhy don't think so. Super hybrid humans, vampires, and ferals vamps living among each other. Will a cure ever be developed to establish mankind again? Is one race superior to others? April will keep fighting for what's right. Great read and well written!

This was a fitting end to the series. I wasn't quite ready for it to be over, but I loved how many things were resolved in the end. The relationship between April and Rye, the one between Sarah and Elijah, and some of the answers about the cure were answered. April had a lot of trouble figuring out what to do with her newfound life after the virus destroyed so many of the people and things she loved. In this last in the series, we get a glimpse of some joy and relief for her. She is determined to not only find her place in the world but help those who remain along with her. We have to remember when April is making all of these decisions, she is only 18 years old, still a child by many standards. I understood many of her decisions, though I didn't approve of all of them. Still, she had to make decisions that would have difficult enough for seasoned adults, and even those adults in the story had trouble making the correct ones. I truly enjoyed the adventure this trilogy provided.

I hope Ms Purdy will revisits this series as I would be interested in the thoughts and feelings of some of the other characters. I was enthralled by the characters and had no problem picturing the situations in which they found themselves. I'm looking forward to taking some time to read some of her other works.
