While this series focuses on the swift plot conclusions and hot sex and threesomes, this one felt a little flat. Clay has been teased for so long that you get involved and want to know more, so right off the bat you are heavily invested in his story.

Unfortunately the story falls flat since it’s following the same formula in the previous books with a pinch more angst, drama and seriousness thrown in. Anjelica feels like she’s trying too hard and she along with Jane don’t seem to really connect as much with the less page time they get.

The author tries to create these strong independent women who are not doormats but also pleasantly taken in with their relationships, it’s a little difficult to connect with most in these series, but it’s manageable since it’s a short plot etc. here it just does not work too well and it could be she’s the weak link to the story. Or perhaps we don’t get to see much into the past of Jake and her relationship. Perhaps.

I was really looking forward to this story, and to be honest felt rather let down, when I first read it. So I waited a while and read it again, still felt like it was missing something. The whole Clay's past story really affected him I know, but I felt we did not get to know his partner very well and he and Angelica had a history that would have allowed for a deeper connection between them that was missing.

I don't know, I cannot fully define it, I have enjoyed this whole series for the most part, but maybe I had such a built up anticipation about Clay's story that maybe nothing would have worked, but I don't think so. I am not sure if the story was over thought, or not thought through enough.

The premises of this series is interesting and shows different aspects of the menage relationship. This one is about Angelica, Jake and Clay. Angelica is assigned to Clay's protection .. Jake is Clay's best friend. Clay is finally trying to put his past to rest. Finally , the truth is reveal and Clay can find happiness.

I'm torn with this one. I really enjoyed the read but in someways I was a bit disappointed. I had really high hopes for this one as Clay had been so big in all the books of the series. I enjoyed it but I didn't loved it. Between 3.5 and 4.
Good read not a great read at least for me.
