There's nothing really special about this series, but it's just so darn readable.

Another super fun volume, though I will admit, it wasn't QUITE as exciting as volume two!
And I ONLY say that because I REALLY dislike the inkling of a love triangle, even though I 100% know it's not going to go anywhere. LOL! I just really really loved the v-e-r-y slow romantic development between Kujou and Yanagi last volume and was hoping it would be more of the focus, not Kei starting to seem like HE is genuinely forming feelings for Kujou throughout this volume. Like noooooooo! Please don't! Please don't mistake her kindness for something more because it's purely just kindness and desperation to get advice on how she is starting to feel for Yanagi because…
YESSSSSSSS!! Kujou IS feeling that something IS different, but she doesn't know what it is just yet. Thankfully one person stepped in and told her not to worry about it and find/explore a new "normal" with him, which was MUCH better than a certain character saying it was all an illusion. :p I was really excited to see when she had her moment of seeing Yanagi as a man even if he feels she doesn't see him that way. (Hang in there Yanagi!)
Speaking of Yanagi, I feel bad saying this, but the most delightful part of this series is seeing Yanagi's feelings totally dictate his actions He is always overthinking, taking in situations A LOT differently than what they are in reality, and other chaotic things that just make this series always so much fun to read!
While I'm a little bummed about the love triangle angle, I am looking forward to reading the next volume! This series continues to be so much fun and I hope that Kujou will continue to realize that she feels something deeper for Yanagi than just "friends"!

Kujou and Yanagi fight to get Kujou to recognize her emotions while Souma seethes in the background. From club trips to the dreaded Manga Cold, it’s time to face facts. Or ignore them completely. It’s a tough call.
Now that we’ve settled into a routine, it’s pretty clear that this is a classic manga love triangle, except the No Hope Rival is also a conniving jerk who keeps making things worse for everybody, including himself. I don’t love Souma, but watching him screw up as much as Kujou and Yanagi is pretty amusing.
Kujou is really, truly the best part of this series - she’s just so methodical and her pace so glacial that she makes the migratory patterns of Arctic terns look like a stroll down the block for a bag of milk. There’s a reason I say it every time, but it take skill to write somebody this deadpan and not make them boring.
Her demeanour is so not the norm that she makes for a real breath of fresh air. Every time she manages a smile it’s like Moses parted the Red Sea again. She is most certainly in love, but without knowing what that means to her she is constantly friend-zoning Yanagi even as they are getting closer and closer.
And Yanagi just doesn’t have any chill left, I think he ran out back in the first volume, so he sees everything Souma is doing to Kujou with an unwarranted sense of jealousy and paranoia, plus he’s also grappling with having been given most everything in life, even if he doesn’t actually act like a rich snot.
It makes for some fun times - Souma’s also really actually starting to crush on Kujou, even as he mostly keeps pushing her towards Yanagi as he tries to mess things up.
This isn’t a bad little series - it’s become nice and comfy, plus the chemistry and interactions between the three main characters tends to be a lot of fun. It just had a vibe that it has settled into and it’s not especially interested in going beyond it.
Which, hey, not a bad thing. A comfy shojo is always a good find and all, but as it has settled itself in, it has very quickly sanded off the edges that made that first volume spectacular and the second volume pretty darn great.
That happens a lot with long series, but it comes on so fast here that it is a little shocking at its speed. I’m still going to read and enjoy this to bits, but it will be on its new terms, which aren’t as strong as its old ones.

This series continues to be extremely cute!! I like how we are slowly starting to see development in Kujou in regards to her feelings towards Yanagi. I love how she's also developing her social skills and that Yanagi is willing to play the long game for her. I feel like Yanagi despite his obvious flaws is kinda a green flag? I really love how he understands that all this social stuff is very new to Kujou and she needs to take her time to really understand this first hurdle of friendship before slowly realising her feelings. However, I hate that STUPID SOUMA. STOP MEDDLING. That's all :)

It is a very heart warming manga. The story is about Yanagi who is always first in everything plus he is a Rick and handsome brat. But suddenly a girl named Kujou is transferred to his primary school and turns out she is first in everything. So to defeat her and come first he start persuing her and they have a last game.

Things are finally starting to move, and I love how she navigates her feelings—it’s honestly so cutesy in the best way. The male lead is still hilarious (and charmingly arrogant), and now the sister? She’s such a character—definitely adds a new layer to the story. This part feels fresh and keeps the momentum going. I’m enjoying the ride.

Mikoto is slowly getting there… slowly but at least there’s progress?! As much as I would like someone to just point it out to her, I would prefer her to figure it out on her own… It’s more fulfilling!!!!

This is a very nostalgic manga series for me. In this volume, Kujou starts feeling differently about Yanagi, but can't quite pinpoint what she's feeling.

This was fun, I like the progression and low key triangle vibes. I do get a little confused sometimes between the verbal and thinking thoughts.
