[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, werewolves, shape-shifters, HEA] John Platt has been searching for his mate for months now. When he finally finds the cougar shifter, Storm, it's just in the nick of time to save his life before hunters can kill him. Storm has been running away from John because he believes John wants revenge on him for his actions as a hunter's slave. He doesn't realize that he's been running from his mate, and he won't believe it when John tells him about it either. Two men can't be mated. That's impossible! But that doesn't stop the fact that now Storm owes John a life debt, and he is to be the man's servant for the rest of his life now, assuming they both survive. The hunters are back on their tails, and with John so far away from his pack, it's just the two of them, on their own being hunted, having to work together to survive and protect their fragile, growing love. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Continuance from previous book. Pond water usage at the beginning with a few references to the pond. It was nice to read about and see a young alpha slowly coming into his own (and will continue to do so) and an 'untried' one at that. His inexperience and enthusiasm I thought added humor to the storyline in that his older, more experienced mate has to kind of walk him through some steps without damaging a growing alpha ego.
I think the biggest disappointment I've had in the last two books is.. hey there's a dragon/wolf hybrid shifter with the ability to heal so why isn't that utilized in any way? And would it be able to possibly give a one eyed cougar full sight back?
Cougar shifter and former hunter stalked by wolf shifter mate
Another formulaic but semi-sizzling story in the typical Siren romantic erotica tradition, a quick and pat but semi-sizzling reading experience that fits into the quick and simple (but somewhat heated) DeWitt's pack series.
In this volume, both protagonists have distinct personalities that blend with their backgrounds and current circumstances. There’s John with his way of switching between super-serious alpha mode and youthful silliness. And in his case being perpetually horny actually makes for a good bit of fun, too. As for Storm, I liked his reluctance to believe in John; it fits his past and personality. It also contrasts and meshes nicely with that weird honour thing he has going. And somehow the extremes of his low-self esteem endear him to me further. Maybe because he is humble about it rather than whiny.
The result is a truly sweet love story conducted under stressful conditions. Oh, and I completely adore that the pack apparently also acquired in the background. That’s just perfect. :D
On the other side of the coin, sex with a major injury still isn’t likely. I guess we can argue that being a shifter makes it all possible but John clearly is in a lot of pain there. Also, all these stories tend to claim someone’s still stretched from the last bout of sex – even when it has been a day or two ago and, considering shifter healing, the affected area would no doubt go back to default much faster than for humans to begin with.
What I further did not appreciate much was that at three separate points Storm ruminates about the context of same-sex mates bearing no offspring and the origin of his people’s homophobia. The first time he states it as though he’s been aware of it all along. The second time the realization comes as a huge surprise to him. The third he remembers the second and supposedly only now really thinks about it, yet the text merely repeats the exact same things he thought before. Possibly verbatim, or close enough.
But those things I can live with. Another blip of a similar nature (how it can be that the cat shifter and wolf can speak telepathically without even having started to bond yet, much less being both wolves) gave me pause. But then the story completely makes up for what seemed an oversight by addressing the question directly and in great detail. Heh, I do love it when the supernatural beings are just as confused as I am about what is going on.
So yeah. Good story with very likeable protagonists.
This was good and I really liked how the cougar shifter didn't immediately jump to forever and happily ever after in his mind.
The only detractor for me was this storyline is getting old. This series started of interesting, but each new book has the same premise, a deranged hunter wronged by some shifter, out to kill them all. Shifters are then on the run and they end up killing the hunters. Usually with one left over to carry this same premise onto the next one. That way it can be rehashed all over again.
I really do like this author's writing so I trudge on hoping for something different.
For a majority of the book John and Storm is on the run from the hunters. I felt it was a bit odd that John and Storm could just settle down and have sex at random moments when they're hurt and are being hunted,it just didn't feel like the smart thing to do (I'm being to logical when reading this book..ugh). I liked that there was a bit of a change in the setting and more suspense in this book because of Robert and Tatum.
Audio-book: audio quality: Almost good, Narration:OK I found it rather boring, though there were also some entertaining parts. The plot had potential and could have been executed in a much better way.
