This full-length novel of Josiah Reign covers eighteen years of his twin boys growing up and coming into their own as young men. From youthful misadventures that reveal his quiet son Jason's power to heal others, to Joshua's charismatic personality and surprising gift, Josiah experiences both love for his sons and valiant struggles in his turbulent marriage to Lena.

It is not without heartrending, increasing sorrow and outrage that Josiah never truly comes to terms with the Triat's prophecy that one of the boys will be sacrificed for the good of the Mani vampires. But Josiah is still a fighter at heart, though he hasn't seen battle action for a while, and it will be over his dead body before anyone lays a hand on one of his sons.

Though peace and harmony have reigned for years on the island of Helena, the new governor of the island of Attica poses a threat to everything and everyone that Josiah holds dear. It's getting harder to call up an army and Josiah goes solo and dusts off his fighting skills to protect his family. He also examines his beliefs and questions the Triat's control over who lives and who dies.

But who is a friend and who is a foe? After one of his sons is snatched, the clock is ticking toward the decisions that could change the dynamic of the Mani royal family forever. Jason unwittingly begins a war that will pit Mani against Mani, and now, involve his cherished sons and his best friend, Tommy the werewolf.

Still a lover and a fighter at heart, Josiah finds out that the only way to survive and save the Mani race is to decide whether to bring his sons completely into his world and risk their lives by revealing the bitter truth.

In the Vampire Love Story series, fall in love with brave hearts and epic stories of vampire heroes and villains that will stay with you, forever.

Josiah and friends have won the war and have been living in peace, but the prophecy for his sons still weighs on him. He is now a father first and foremost and he will not allow one of his sons to die just because a prophesy says he must. The leader of the other island suffers a terrible loss and chooses someone else to take over so that he can disappear. The new person that took over, Brock, seems ok to Josiah but his son Jason does not like him. When Brocks son becomes really sick he wants Josiah or Jacob to heal him. When Jason refuses Brock will do everything in his power to try and force him to do it.

This book goes through the boys first 18 years of life. Josiah and his family once again have a lot to deal with. Josiah and Lena are having issues. They have the new unpredictable neighbor on the next island to deal with and then one of his sons ends up missing.

My Opinion: I loved it as I do with all of H.T.'s books. Josiah and Lena are the perfect little couple that it was actually nice seeing them have some marital problems just like everyone else. When it comes to the Deity I think that Josiah relies on her just a little too much. I love the boys. They are both very intuitive. I think that this book was one of the better ones in the series and I have high hopes that the next one will be just as good if not better. I highly suggest reading but you do have to read from book one to know what is going on.

Book 6 this one set 16 years later twin boys stories this wasn't my favorite book went back and forth but really didn't get into depth when Josiah kinda became a vigilante for the kids growing up times. I kind of wished Lena had another child maybe a girl she just seems like an afterthought and she should be so much more. she just come off as a nagging wife....

I don't feel like this book was as good as the others in the series before. However, it picked up near the end and had a great ending. The ending really left you hanging...and I can't wait to start the next one.

Despite the slow start of this book, it has ended with a big bang. Josiah and Lena must determine how to carry on with their children and the possible loss of one of them. Can they fight the prophecy (ies)? The "Sons of Josiah", Will rise!

Oh not a cliffhanger!

While a good book, I was disappointed that it ended before the full story was resolved. I will be going directly into the next book.
