“There is no backing down. Only stepping up.”

Ebony Falls has no choice but to face her fate head on. With the Dark and Light fighting the new power that Ebony holds, she must choose how to settle the dispute that has built since the day she was born. However, being forced into leading an army of Mixed Bloods is no easy task.

Nicholas just wants what is best for Ebony, but knows that he can’t fight her battles. His loyalty to the Light will only get in the way of the war unleashing amongst the Dark, Light and Mixed Bloods.

When the Heir reassigns him to a much needier case that presents him one of two options, what will he choose?

This story had a lot of potential. The plot was creative and intricate. However, most of the characters felt half-done, with the possible exception of Cadan. There were so many spelling and grammar errors that they became distracting -- you/you're, is/are, considerable misuse of the possessive s, lack of commas, inappropriate word choices (insisting instead of implying, except instead of accept, him instead of his, etc). The dialogue also seemed overly-formal at times, and I had trouble imagining someone actually speaking in such a way. Overall, I felt the story was interesting enough to capture my attention, but the book is very unpolished.
