Nice, chatty book that talks about the impact that acting can have on your life and why people are fascinated by it but I'd have enjoyed it even more if the author had gone into more detail about how she reacts to parts and performs them: more of the craft to go with the autobiography. Great read, though.
The book was originally published online I believe, and reading it you can see that its origin might have been someone's blog, or diary.
Told in the first person, it is an interesting insight into the life of the struggling actress, or rather I should say it expresses in a pretty succinct manner many of the stories we've heard before. While reading it I couldn't help but compare it to two exceptional movies about struggling actors: "The Comedy Man" starring Kenneth Moore, and "Career" starring Anthony Franciosa.
While the story is presented with plenty of humour, there are no laugh out loud moments. Instead, it is full of wry grins and the occasional chuckle at the self-depreciating style adopted by the author throughout the story.
