A mega-rich cowboy. + an undercover music star = One Extra Steamy Soap Opera Romance
After Layla Matthews chooses his identical twin brother over him, Andrew Sinclair moves to Montana, vowing to forget about the ex-girlfriend that got away.
But when she shows up in Montana, sassier and sexier than he remembered, and seeking refuge on his guest ranch, he doesn't know how long he'll be able to keep that vow ... or resist setting her Montana nights on fire.
The only thing is, this Layla Matthews isn't quite what or who she seems….
This book features two outrageously handsome twin brothers, a mystery that will keep you guessing, and an extremely hot case of mistaken identity.

Pretty disappointed, I expected so much from this writer. I liked the previous one in the series so I was pretty excited to read this one and feel a bit duped. The story was just way over the top. Even from a soap opera point of view : there are GOOD soap operas, which may have a bit of over the topness but manage to stay believable; but this book take on it is not one of them. I pretty much got the whole thing from the start (mostly the heavy make up thing/never seeing her face), it was way too obvious. The whole mistaken identities thing was just annoying, Roxy acted a bit like a dumb ass and I didn't found her very interesting, but she was still better than Andrew. Andrew, who I was looking for to read more about, ended up behaving like a jerk, badmouthing his brother every page, and pretty much fucking his sister-in-law not even 5 minutes after deciding by himself that the two had divorced. And yes his brother was not the most loveable but they were supposed to work on it, and Andrew just behaved like a bitter douche ! I was so angry to have him turned into such a prick. I couldn't get over the whole brother/sister-in-law thing. I even skipped the sex scene : no matter how hot, the fact that he thought she was who he thought she was and still went for it was just gross to me. Maybe if I hadn't know what the reader knew from the start I may have gone with it but knowing it only made Andrew look bad. I almost felt sorry for Roxy cause to me he didn't really loved her for her, there was no real development about her character that set her apart from the one he thought she was, to make the whole falling in love thing believable and romantic. So, so disappointed. UGH!
I read this book but I had a problem with the plot I did not like Andrew going after his brothers wife even if he thought they were divorced. I felt it tainted the story he just rebuilt his relationship with his brother . The sex was hot but the story just did not do it for me.
I love EVERYTHING Theodora Taylor has ever written. I picked up "His Pretend Baby" a few weeks ago, just after it was released, and it was so good I went ahead and picked up everything she's ever written and finished em all. Honestly, black women hardly get represented in popular romance, or by really good authors. I can't believe there has to be a genre for black protagonists. The color of my skin is neither a kink nor is it a genre. But whatever. I don't have time for a rant. Point is, this book was my definite fav, and everything Ms. Taylor has ever written is EXCELLENT. It's not in your face about anything. It's simply just a fun, meaningless romance. I love it.
Part two...Andrew fell in love with Layla in college but she ended up falling for his identical twin Nathan. Layla and Nathan marry and Andrew moves to Montana. "Layla" shows up in Montana without Nathan and she an Andrew begin to have a hot and torrid relationship. Andrew who is supposed to be the good brother decides that he is not stepping aside for Nathan that Layla is his destiny. Problem "Layla" is different from girl he knew and more passionate with him then she has ever been. Spoiler not Layla . The whole story is ridiculous and each character has few redeeming qualities. Might be good story for others not me.

So, I think my hesitancy in reading this and the previous book was because of the 2 brothers, 1 girl thing. Had to be creepy and just a little gross, right? Wrong! And the twist with this one, while a little unusual, was an excellent way to provide a HEA for Andrew. I enjoyed this one from start to finish. I love it when I have no idea who the bad guy is until they reveal themselves. Never saw this one coming!
After further consideration, I've decided 2 change my review, but not the rating. My original review was not only snarky, but it was demeaning to the author, as well. For that, I apologize.
Simply put, there were some serious problems with the storyline, development of characters, and the overall editing of the book.
Other than that, the reality factor was almost nonexistent in a few areas. This could have been an awesome book like ''Her Perfect Gift,'' but it went off track somewhere.
3.5 rounded up. This got so strange and far fetched I truly love bizarre things, but you have to suspend any grasp you have on reality to go with this. It truly is a soap opera. Murder, secret identities, stalkers...at times it's just too much. It's not boring. That's for sure. Steamy and funny. Ended well.
After reading the first book and seeing the beginning of this, I couldn't wait to read it to find out what was going on. It was really good and that Andrew was a beast! Great job, I couldn't put it down.
The summary of this book is somewhat scary and miss leading. At first I was reluctant to read it just for the simple fact of the summary and the prologue. I did not want to read about Layla switching back and forth between brothers. But you get an even more greater surprise. Everything just, might not be what it seems.
From the prologue I was thinking “Oh man I thought he was over her, it’s no good for him to pin after his twin brother’s wife. It will not work out well, and I wonder how Layla went from loving his brother to switching up again. I was thinking how she’s so wishy washy, and I didn’t really like her from the 1st book to begin with. Nor did I really like Andrew or Nathan from the last book very much either. And I was just going to remove the book, and refuse to read it.
BUT, me being me, I ALWAYS give a book a chance, and I’m glad I did. So if you’re like me don’t give up on this book because of a misleading summary or Prolog. It’s actually a really good book, and one that will start making sense as the story goes on.
Andrew start off wanting Layla, then telling her that he will get over her and gives her his blessing. In which he really does, then here comes an exact replica of Layla. This woman looks like an mirror image of her, and of course Andrew mistakes her for her, and so does the who town he owns, base off the pictures they seen of Layla.
But his woman is not Layla but actually the famous pop star Roxy. Roxy herself is in a dire situation of trying to hide from her stalker. And even though the whole town and Andrew believes she actually his sis in law… or rather ex sis in law she intends to go with it.
I like this book more so better than Layla book, and I think it’s because of how Layla and Nathan got together. I do not like the fact that she drag Andrew along until Nathan made a move on her and then she tells him she really wanted him. This whole seen make a huge impact on me, I just can’t forgive her for doing that, nor Nathan. And then when Andrew tops it off by what he does, it just a messy, messy, mess.
As for this book I’m not sure I’m really convince that Andrew really like Roxy for herself, when he find out the truth. Because come on he’s going to find out the truth to begin with. You just knew that this was going to happen. I wasn’t sure if he just was really into her, but when he explains to Roxy that he brings out the beast in him, when she’s never before you can see the difference. But still I was still hesitates since “Hey” the only reason why you got with her is because she look like her.
Roxy story is sad, and between me and her I don’t think I could forgive my mom for what she has done. But Roxy and her mother relationship is one were instead of a mom and daughter, it’s a daughter and friend relationship. Which is crazy, you should be a mother to your child.
I do love the fact that Roxy tries to get out of the relationship because she knew she was falling in love with him. And that everything was going too far, and even though it would blow her cover she didn’t want to trick Andrew anymore.
I for one feel like Roxy is too good for Andrew and deserve better than him. He is such an jerk to her. Even though he believes he Layla he treats her coldly, and of course he should since she cheated on him back when they were dating. But he should’ve been more honest and told her that he was still hurt about what happen. But then again he cannot really be too upset when he was the one who left her in the hospital when she fell down his family stairs, ending up in a coma. But he “love her”, and Nathan clearly is the one that truly love her.
I really love that Theodora Taylor starts with Andrew for the 1st chapter, but then it’s mostly through the eyes of Roxy. And for this I’m thankful, because I did not like Andrew, and feel that If I have read this book from mostly his point of view I probably would not have like it so much.
I read this book under the re-titled Ruthless Cowboy. It really is part two of the story of Layla and the twins she dated, Andrew and Nathan. After she chooses Nathan, Andrew moves across the country and starts a new business. One day, he believes Layla shows up, and he concludes that the marriage between Layla and his brother has failed. If you read the story of Layla and Nathan, it really isn't much of a mystery about the true identity of the woman Andrew thinks is Layla. Roxxy Roxx thinks he has mistakenly identified her as someone she is not because so many white people thinks most black people look alike. Since I have been told that I look like Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight, when I was younger, I get that. None of them look alike and none of them look like me. However, when others also identify her as Layla it seems to me she would have asked someone, or anyone to lend har a computer so she could look Layla up and she would immediately understand it is not just a simple case of mistaken identity. Also tied up in Andrew's identity mistake is the sibling rivalry that propels him to think he has finally bested his brother. She stays at his ranch under the assumed ID and cover story, until one day his brother and the real Layla come to visit. It proceeds from there and I will not go into and spoil the ending. I adore TT and have read most of her books, tis one as usual did not disappoint.

Big fan of all and everything That This author writes and she's a personal favorite. This is Andrew and RoxX story. She's a glamorous Rock star successful but unhappy with her life as it is so she makes plans that concerns something's that are close to her heart until the unthinkable happens. Her make-up artist is murdered making her have to go on the run. So many twists and turns Murder, mistaken identity, and secrets being revealed. She comes across Andrew who she has instant chemistry together. Read and but the book for more.
If pearl clutching stories was a person…they would be Theodora Taylor. Each time I read a book written by her, I’m thirsting for the next one. You fall in love with the characters and don’t want to let them go. I’m so sad when I finish her books because I want the story to continue. I appreciate her intertwining past characters in each book. I still get a glimpse of their continued story like with Sam and Nik in Go and Nyla’s story. Thank you Ms Taylor for sharing your wit and your brilliant imagination with us.
This book did have a good plot twist but my question is was Roxxy drugged when he drank on the way to Montana. For her to not remember a tragic event such as someone that was helping being murdered seems a bit off to me.
I didn’t like how Andrew didn’t care if he was falling for his brothers wife. He seemed to have no regard even though he noticed differences between Layla and Roxxy. Just....weird.
Escape with a ruthless business man ..so far loving the series and author ..started reading Russian beast after reading Russian billionaire but found ..the characters out of place some what ..at that point ..will have to read in the books in order ..and can’t wait to read the next book ...
I normally don't like these short books. But as a follow up to Ruthless Tycoon, it was fine. It should have been book 2 of the series to end instead of book 4 in the Ruthless business series. because I automatically wanted to know where the story was going with Nathan/Layla/Andrew. Loved Roxxy's spice with the hot new Andrew!
This was an interesting story, but not a believable story. I did enjoy parts of it, but Layla's book was much better. I did like the premise of two sets of twins meeting and marrying, so I give this a high mark for the idea and putting together a story around that idea!
This book is everything that made soap operas fun. The drama, the romance, the absurdity (yes, even that) is what makes soaps fun to get lost in. For a little while, you can leave your serious world behind and just enjoy the complicated lives and loves of someone else.
I really enjoyed Andrew and Roxxy's story. A little case of mistaken identity and we're off. I like the twists and turns that the story took. A little who done it some humor I really enjoyed this book.
It was something out of a novella but I loved it so much I read a few years ago and decided to re-read it and I'm happy I did so yourself a favor read it you wont regret it.
Mrs. Taylor knows how to write a fantastic story. She pulls you in then the ride begins. You will not want to put this book down, until you've read the entire story. 🔥🔥🎉😉🤓
I’m having a good time re-reading theses stories. Even better the second time around. Sometimes reading a book over you see things that you missed. Sexy, hot a really good read, going to another one I already read in my collection.
This was quite a far fetched story in parts and think it was intentional by the author. My favourite part of the storyline was Andrew and Roxxy's love. I did find Andrew a bit bland from his previous story with Layla, but loved his passion and intensity here.
I liked the character Adam but I didn't like who he ended up with. He should have gotten a while new romance with someone that wasn't a Kayla look alike.
