Christmas is about our Lord Jesus entering the world to save us from our sins. But what does that mean? Who is Jesus, really? And what are sins? And why do they matter to God?

These are some of the questions people around us may have. Although we can talk to them and explain the gospel, ultimately they will need to read the Bible for themselves.

But let’s face it, the Bible is a thick, complicated book, intimidating in many ways. Unless seekers are avid and determined readers, they are not going to be able to make their way through it without help. That’s why the Canadian Bible Society and Scripture Union Canada are promoting Taste and See: An Invitation to Read the Bible. This free ebook is meant to serve as an introduction to people reading the Bible for the first time.

É um livro que explica o básico sobre como e porque ler a Bíblia. Parece um ótimo livro para presentear novos convertidos. Ele divide a Biblia em "12 histórias" essenciais e a partir daí explica o poder e a vontade de Deus em uma linguagem simples e direta, deixando pontos interessantes para que o "novato" tenha por onde começar um diálogo com seu pastor ou lider de classe fortalecendo seu aprendizado.

A very brief book introducing the main themes of the Bible to the lay reader. I think it was published by the Canadian Bible Society or something. A nice place to start for those who are interested in learning more about the Bible.

A very short introduction to read the Bible. A bit to generalized but it still has some good things.
