Jaded

Rate this book
Aki has fled his previous life. Moving to a new city, trying to escape himself; he has thrown himself into a world of frivolity and no worries.
A world where the regrets are hidden, where the men are hot, and where the morals are loose.
He has grown up since... that night, but his cynical nature has remained. He tries to fit in, while desperately trying to forget.

On one side, he has the imagery of a time that passed years ago, and the guilt he feels. On the other, he has the insistent Yuuki, who has somehow been dragged into this terrible yet exciting vortex that is Aki’s life.

In the midst of it all, Aki finds himself back home, facing the ghosts of the past.

Jaded begins years after where SNOW let off; it tells another dramatic and thrilling story, this time, from Aki's point of view.

It took me forever to actually get into this book just because it’s so different from Snow. Not that I was expecting a book that’s exactly the same, but I got so attached to the characters in Snow very quickly and got really emotionally involved in the plot. I didn’t feel that same pull with Jaded. I really wasn’t that attached to any of the new characters, and I didn’t get too invested into the plot.
I think my favorite part with this one was the moment when some of the characters from Snow made an appearance, and I immediately felt that same charm the first one had, but I’m sad to say that it only lasted for the chapter that they were there.
I really wanted to like Jaded. Like I said, I absolutely loved Snow, but Jaded didn’t have nearly the same effect on me, and I found myself bored with it. It just didn’t pull me in until nearly the last fifty pages or so, and that was too long for me to really like it.
