Because of changes in seating arrangements, high school student Tsuda ended up behind the quiet and expressionless Endou. Their interaction is born from a trivial incident, and he begins to see Endou who he has never gotten to know before. That mole, slender nape, and soft hair. The subtle faces that he makes and little changes in his attitude. But Tsuda, who used to be indifferent about others and never made any deep connections, now feels impatient about the distance between him and Endou, who he has been gradually getting closer to. What on earth is drawing these feelings?
This was an adorable, beautiful and gorgeous little manga. I am kind of sad it is only an one volume manga, there should be more Tsuda x Endou!
There is not much plot/story. It is mostly just about Endou and Tsuda falling in love, very fast and mostly both of them are confused or in case of Tsuda, running away. I really loved these 2, though I am still not sure what to think of Endou. Most of the chapters that we have are with Tsuda as main character and we only get one little chapter with Endou's thoughts. While I can see why Tsuda likes Endou, I still don't totally get why Endou fell for Tsuda. Because of his awesomeness? How hot he looked when he just won a fight?
The hair thing got a bit annoying. At first I was nodding along and agreeing, but I didn't agree with the tactics Tsuda and Kanzaki used. Don't go forcing someone to cut their hair. If they don't want it, they don't want it. Leave it.
The kisses (there are a few) are gorgeous and really sexy. Unlike some manga you don't just get one panel of a kiss, no no, this one just spends 1 or 2 pages on a kiss, or a hug. It is all very hot and romantic!
The art is the biggest reason why I tried this manga. It is absolutely gorgeous. The characters look beautiful, their faces full of expressions, of feelings. The backgrounds are good too, but nothing beats the way the characters are drawn.
Oh and Tsuda reminds me of Germany from Hetalia a bit. :)
All in all, this is one manga I would highly recommend. Are you looking for a short, cute shounen-ai? Then try this one out!
It's so rare to find a bl that doesn't feel like it's fetishizing m/m relationships. the female characters are also really refreshing because often they are seen as the enemy but I loved every second of this. I'm in love with every character here and I can't wait to read more about them.
Also, I'd never expected Endou-kun to be so assertive in his feelings towards Tsuda. It was very cute
loved the vibes and characters ! the cover is stunning and the story's art very beautiful. it vaguely reminded me of doukyusei in how the characters are perfect for each other and how their relationship naturally becomes something more. beautiful !
One of my favourite highschool, shounen-ai mangas!
The characters are complicate yet simple, the art messy yet terribly expressive and the storyline has just the right pace and context, so that it won't be cliché and forgettable.
Endou is geeky, shy at first look, but outspoken when known better; especially towards Tsuda. Tsuda is some sort of delinquent under reform, clearly distant, but just as clearly interested in Endou.
A wonderful manga, about two people with entirely different personalities, yet so many similarities deep inside that the outcome is simply unavoidable.
A first completed manga from an artist I'd love to see more of!
The first volume is a re-read, because I didn't remember much of it.
I really like the drawing style, but the story itself was kinda frustrating. Or maybe it was the characters? They took ages to start communicating somehow properly, and then even more ages to figure things out for themselves.
I liked the sketchy art style, and felt like Endou-kun no Kansatsu Nikki had lots of hidden depth to it. Overall not my favourite Shounen-Ai though, despite the realistic/stream of consciousness-feel.
I've ranted and raved about Hayakawa Nojico's panelling before: it's one of the most memorable out there. But this is her earlier work and I think she pushes things even farther in later manga (like incorporating elements like ribbons outside the panels).
Which isn't to say this lacks anything: the pacing in that scene where Endou sees Tsuda fighting near the train station now lives in my brain rent free. The slow reveal of Tsuda's face as he looks straight ahead and Endou's wide-eyed reaction is just too good.
The way the words are broken into little chunks also gives everything a breathless quality. The way the whole story is so controlled, but everything feels so light and heart-poundingly like falling in love for the first time.
The way this is written gives me the same vibes as Doukyuusei.
I really enjoyed this although it got a little jumbled. The way it's told confused me a little because I couldn't tell what was real and what was in his head and what was a memory and what wasn't. I guess their reactions didn't fit the situations sometimes or it would flash immediately to the next scene so I couldn't really tell. It could also have a little to do with the translation, but I'm not sure. I liked the story, but I was a little confused.
We kind of need to hand every mangaka a guide on storytelling because the structural chaos of this one... hahahahahahaha
There is one (1) moment that fascinated me, which is that in the first chapter, Tsuda - who we later find out likes beating up people and will enter school with his hair slicked back - has a sex(?) hallucination of pulling Endou by the hair. This is followed by him wanting to cut Endou's hair... and like... we never get to sex or anything that justified this initial page. It's just there, that potential. Hanging there. Waiting to be plucked.
