Norrgard writes in many different disciplines. Whether it's erotica, short stories that pack a emotional punch, her non-fiction, or her poetry, readers are bound to leave satisfied. With her newest collection, 11:59 p.m., Norrgard delivers.
This collection is filled with very personal, touching verse. The voice that I've enjoyed in the poet's past works shines through yet again as we get a glimpse into what makes Norrgard tick.
The opening poem, which is titled the same as the collection, is one of my favorites. I've often thought about the moment one day turns into another and this poem does just that. Some other poems that stuck out are Naivety, Come Back, and The search for the eyes of home.
I think it'd be a good, short collection to start with for those wanting to get into Norrgard's poetic works.
11:59 is Author Amber Norrgard’s latest collection and it doesn’t disappoint. I’ve said before that I’m a fanboy of her writing. She has talent that expands with every piece of work she writes. Color of Dawn gave way to In the Gloaming and 4 a.m. Each one moving and honest beyond anything before. 11:59 is no exception. Her first poem hooked me as much as the last. Norrgard’s writing is a journey of pain, perspective, understanding and hope. Though, the emotions are deep you will not leave empty. My favorites are Take My Hand, In Blue, Wrapped Around and The Search for the Eyes of Home for their beauty and raw power. Even if you are not into poetry, give 11:59 a chance. You will be moved, I promise.
In this poetry collection, Amber Jerome~Norrgard explores love in all of its facets. Whether it is self-evaluation, insecurity, joy, loss, hope or heartbreak, Amber covers it all. Like so many of her works 11:59 P.M. is honest, deeply personal, emotional and beautiful. There is a sense strength that is common in all of her work, even when she expresses moments of vulnerability. It is by far one of my favorites from her.
