In Eat to Live bestselling author, board-certified family physician, and nutritional researcher Joel Fuhrman, MD, outlines a health solution to lose weight and prevent and reverse disease through nutritional interventions.
Utilizing extensive scientific research and personal case studies, Eat to Live prescribes a nutritarian diet--a diet rich in nutrients provided through plant sources--as the path to optimal nutrition and rapid weight loss.
Fuhrman's Eat to Live asserts that when people learn to eat foods that are high in nutrients and low in calories, the body is released from its addiction to an unhealthy diet, leading to dramatic weight loss and a lifelong nutritional plan for better health.
A 30 Minute Health Summary of Eat to Live
Designed for those whose desire to learn exceeds the time they have available, the Eat to Live summary helps readers quickly and easily become experts ...in 30 minutes.
Concise, informative, and an enjoyably positive read. The summary version of Eat to Live, by Joel Fuhrman, MD, provides a nice road map of how the American diet has led us to historically poor health. No finger wagging, just matter-of-fact cause and effect. And some of the cause and effects explained were surprising, at least to me. For example, many junk food items aren't just caloric bombs, they're a food delivery device that confuses our body's hunger signals. And as clear as the road map of how we got here is presented, the path to a healthy, balanced diet via plant-based nutrients is sensibly and intuitively laid out. Nothing daunting or new-age haze in the writing. Instead, it's very can-do and practical. And the summary format certainly compliments that style.
Have a number of friends following this and picked up the cliff notes to learn more. For me, this wouldn't be sustainable so I'm glad I didn't buy the whole book. 90% of diet from beans, veggies and fruits (veggies preferably raw), no dairy, no fats other then nuts. Near vegetarian diet.
I read Dr. Fuhrman's book, but I think a notes version would be more helpful. I was really bothered by the pushing of his products and the chatty style of his writing. I want the concisely written information though, and am looking forward to reading through this version.
