Charlotte chose the little town she calls home as a place to hide after a trip abroad goes wrong. But now she’s longing for more out of life than playing it safe. So when her estranged sister—an undercover agent—is injured and unable to continue her operation, Charlotte finds her chance for adventure and agrees to fill in for what should be a simple assignment.
Will has spent years searching unofficially for a close friend who was kidnapped. But after following a trail that goes cold, he’s barely able to hold on to hope that she's still alive. So when his partner in an undercover operation is injured, and she tries to persuade him to train her twin to take her place, he’s hesitant, not wanting to risk the life of a civilian until, with numerous lives at stake, he finally relents. Then, when he starts falling for Charlotte, he can't face the possibility of losing another person he cares for, and he tries to sway her to give up and go back to the safety of her suburban life. But when things don't turn out how anyone expects, Will and Charlotte find themselves in a fight they never anticipated, the outcome of which could end all of their lives.

This was a quick paced, Christian suspense book with romance. The main plot does revolve around human trafficking, but the author managed to give you an emotional and suspense filled view of the dark topic, while not being overly descriptive.
I enjoyed the banter between our main couple Charlie and Will and watching their relationship progress. Charlotte is strong in her beliefs and Will, while Christian, is struggling with practicing his faith. Charlie's twin sister is a non-believer, but you can see her searching for something. The main thing straining the sister's relationship stems from their conflicting views. The storyline has redemption, forgiveness, and comes full circle by the end.
The book was a perfect balance of intense drama mixed with sweet romance and happily ever after...

What a great book this was. It was my first time reading one of this author's books. There was enough action to keep it exciting without going overboard with it. The characters were flawed without being overly dramatic, and the faith elements were beautifully subtle without being preachy. I also liked that a slight romance was there without being a major focal point to the story. As a reader who doesn't love romance books, it's so refreshing to find a Christian Fiction suspense book without a major romance. I'm glad I ran across this author and look forward to reading more. Highly recommended!

Really well written book...A good mystery and an excellent, satisfying ending.
Many books today are so poorly written. It is wonderful to find this author, Shawna Coleing, who really does write well. Charlotte and her twin sister have more in common than they know. Excellent book!

My new favorite author - every one of Shawna's books have been a great suspense - as well as the characters being real - real life issues and the consequenses of our own actions as well as depending on our God to help and direct us. Well done !

This is an awesome book! I’ve already fallen in love with Shawna’s writing, and this story just adds another gold star. The story is exciting with danger and suspense all throughout, as well as enough romance to satisfy readers like me. I highly recommend this book.

Wow!
Absolutely loved the strong faith element. Characters were well developed and likable. The story was intense with some comic relief and, of course, a touch of romance. I will definitely be checking out more books by this author.

Good, clean, and suspenseful
I love that this book was clean, spoke highly of God and still had some suspense along with it. Parts of it I had figured out but parts were surprising. Overall I enjoyed it.
