"This is the essence of what it truly means to be human. It’s all right here in these words. Everything you ever need to know. That’s because I use all twenty-six letters, and you can make anything out of those twenty-six letters. So, you see, this book encompasses everything." — PleaseHelpMe
Rumored to be penned by the brother of the best-selling author of “I Wrote This For You,” this new tour de force in poetry is sure to stab at your heart, or, at least, make you want to.
If you loved the international best-selling collection of poetry, “I Wrote This For You,” you’ll probably hate this. But even those admirers of the free-verse artistry of that work will get a laugh from this classic parody.
Author and screenwriter Edward Savio put together a spot-on send up of the poetry best-seller with “I Wrote This Crap For You.”
It’s a quick, fun read that we hope you enjoy.
“It touched my heart and moved me to tears.”
“It’s as if he knew my inner thoughts and fears, and—come to think of it my diary is missing.”
I'm not sure I can put an accurate star rating on this one. For those of you who read this unaware that it's a sort of satire of I Wrote This For You by Iain S. Thomas...I'm sorry. That must have hurt your brain.
I think a few of Iain S. Thomas' poetry books were in the bunch of my first Kindle purchases back in 2013 or '14. This crap (lol) also made it into the mix somehow. I've recently been re-reading my favorites of the past, and when I made it to this one (sitting next to I Wrote This For You), I was determined to keep a straight face, dislike the entire meaning behind this: poking fun at emotionally vulnerable poetry.
I'll admit, I did crack a smile. Then I chuckled, highlighted a few things, and admitted Savio is pretty clever. Because, if you can't laugh (sometimes in the most serious of moments), what can ya do?
Apparently I am too intellectually challenged or simple minded (which can be considered the same thing but to me one sounds worse) to understand the really meaning of the words/lyrics in this book. Some were inspirational others were dumb, like re-read several times to make sure I read it correctly.... Dumb but hey what can you do?
A unique and humorous twist of the book I Wrote This For You by Iain S. Thomas (Pleasefindthis). For being an inexpensive read it is very flavorful and leaves the reader in joyful tears as they read the first publicized parody of the phenomenal, I Wrote This For You. Tactfully done.
pleasefindthis "I wrote this for you and only you" is way better than this monstrosity. I did not enjoy this one but, and I had so many problems with some of the "poems" especially the one where he talked about her co worker and how he was mad that she couldnt just give him one kiss.
He seemed too whiny and entitled for me. Definitely do not reccomend. It's so bad I'm not even going to rate it
This book was indescribable. I surely have to read it again, again after that, and maybe once more after that. Perhaps twice. Three times for the full effect. Five stars because of the unexpected connect I had with the book. It was odd, not knowing what was being said yet understanding it completely. Not necessarily understanding the true meaning, but understanding that what was being said was being said for a reason. I really appreciated the connect of Good Night Moon sounding more like a suicide note rather than a children's book.
If you like the dark music of the Police, you'll love these poems
I Wrote This Crap For You is a great read if you enjoy the darkly sexual themes of the Police. The reader is the subject of the author's obsession, and the author alludes to stalking the reader, though the reader is certainly not the author's first victim. It is intimate and interesting, putting your face on terrifying social issue. Great read over all, with very poignant imagery.
I'm not really sure how to feel about this book... it did make me laugh silently to myself, you know when you blow air out your nose? It had some really beautiful quotes and somethings I took to heart and thought about. I wouldn't buy it though. It wouldn't be worth it IMHO but hey, that's just me.
Okay, the whole day today I've been reading short stories and this is probably the weirdest/odd/strange book I've read so far. But definitely love the pictures. :)
