In ‘Last Right’ a prodigal son, a vanished wife, and a dying patriarch combine in a tale of betrayal and revenge on the Mexican border.

My only issue is this story was much shorter than I anticipated, even giving the already super low page count on Kindle! It serves a good teaser for the author’s work however, I might have to check out one of her longer mystery/thriller novels in the future.

A standalone short story by the author of probably my favourite series, the Charlie Fox books, this is completely different and shows her talent as a writer. I don't have much of an imagination but was able to picture the scenes described as if they were a movie. This is about a young man returning to his dying father's estate in Mexico to confront him about what happened to his mother.
The only disappointment was that Kindle on my iPad made it look much longer than it was because more than half of the ebook is taken up with summaries of her other books.

This short story was at the end of the Charlie Fox books 1-3 box set on Kindle so I figured I'd give it a read, even though it's not a Charlie Fox story. A good short story is tough to write, in my opinion. The writer has to accomplish a lot in very little real estate. This short story was well-written although predictable (but maybe it was supposed to be). Still, Zoe Sharp is a great writer, and it was an enjoyable way to spend a few minutes.
