Book Description: Contains mild spoilers if you haven’t read Here, the first book in the trilogy.
When Milo Mitchell falls for the beautiful, tuxedo-clad guy she found wandering her family’s rural Colorado property, she never dreamed he was a scout from another galaxy, or that their relationship would leave him with an impossible choice: eradicating humankind, or initiating the end of his own people.
Nick’s job is finding the elements his people need to power their elaborate interweb of minds. Being a scout means he is capable of traveling to other planets on his own. It also means that, unlike The Rest, he has access to primitive feelings and individual desires. For eons, he was part of the whole, but when he encountered Milo, his obsession with her changed everything.
Nick’s partner, Vera, is capable of independent thought, but not compelled by it. She is satisfied with her existence as one of The Rest, and she won’t agree that humans are worth sparing; not when their planet has a precious cache of the gold her people need so badly.
While Vera tries to force Nick into endorsing an Earth invasion, working behind the scenes to tie his hands, and the Department of Defense lays a trap for them with Milo’s mom as bait, Nick and Milo are waging their own war – against a primal desire that can only lead to one thing: heartbreak.

I really enjoyed this. It was like Roswell meets Meet Joe Black. The ending brought hope and I am satisfied enough that if there isn't going to be another book (the series is a trilogy) I'll be okay with that. But of course, if there is a book 3 I will probably love it because it will be amazing!
Audible didn’t warn me it was the 2nd book in a series. Also it’s called a trilogy but there’s no 3rd book when the first two were released in ‘12 & ‘14. Unlikely. But you don’t miss much in the first book because I caught up with the little recap.
“Trapped” by Ella James. Read by Allison McLemore. #booksin22 #audiobook
I must say that Ella James is a phenomenal author. Her ability to pull you into the story is absolutely amazing.
Milo and Nick continue their adventure in Trapped. With Milo still trying to completely comprehend that Nick is actually an alien. As much as she wants to dismiss his words, she knows that they are the truth. The other truth is that him and his partner are at odds over the decision to invade earth.
While Nick and Milo try to work on Vera the DoD is plotting their next move. They aren't done trying to get back what they claim is theirs, and they will pull out all of the stops to get Nick back.
Will Nick and Milo be able to escape and save the world from the Rest?
Sitting on pins and needles for the next book! An amazing read by Ella James!
Milo knows that Nick is an alien. She is forced to think about a future without Nick or no Earth. She has met Vera, Nick’s partner. I’m not particularly a fan of Vera. They are still on the run from the DOD and find out that there is now a strand if the swine flu out. I did not expect that plot twist at the end. That the DOD would also be aliens. I am ready for the third book. I’m thinking they definitely erased her memory because she is unfamiliar about somethings. When she meets Vera again at her school...Wow.

This is an exciting series and I started directly into the second book…only to discover that the author never wrote the 3rd book of the trilogy! So, now I’m left with a cliffhanger and no resolution. It’s been 7 years since book 2 was published and book 3 is still in the author’s mind…
I loved this, but it ended with me hanging AGAIN! I know there's a third book, but it most definitely isn't out yet... Not on Audible at least! All these series... I get hooked!
Ella James has surprised me again. This continuation of the Here series picks up with a bang.
There's no break in the action as Trapped picks up right where Here ended. There is a new character, Vera, who throws a bit of snark and humor into the mix. The action really picks up in this one. Our characters are on the run from the bad guys and end up getting caught. Sadly, the book descends into the common trope of the humans being the stereotypical "we are going to slice you up and study you" sort. Milo is also held captive. But here's where the realism steps away somewhat. It tends to get unbelievable here - not in a bad way, but in a common way. Where the first book Here was really inventive, this book is more about the characters dealing with the circumstances. Although Nick and Milo behave like normal teenagers, the whole science fiction aspect of the story is really pronounced. The realistic feel is sacrificed for action scenes, which move the plot along. I didn't mind overall because I liked where it was going.
With the introduction of Vera, we get a much broader back story of Nick. Who he is and why is explained much more in depth. And in this, James is able to keep Nick a sympathetic character in the way he explains things to Milo. He never is condescending but struggles to find the appropriate language to communicate concepts. Milo spends much of the book being intrigued by Nick and scared of him. And along the way she falls in love with him, which also plays into the story in a beautiful way. The relationship they began in the first book continues and grows in this book. Personal wants are set aside for the bigger cause. But the romance isn't sacrificed. It gets pretty sticky, which provided the tension that kept things going until the plot twist at the end. I thought I had the whole thing figured out only to be surprised yet again. This book is anything but predictable in that way.
Allison McLemore narrates this book as well as the first one. She has wonderful expression in the way she relates the characters. Her phrasing is spot on. My only criticism of her (and it is a small one) is that when a character is screaming or yelling, the narrator should also be doing that. Narrators seem reluctant to do that in many cases. They kind of "whisper yell," which lightens an otherwise tense situation. This was the case in some of the scenes in this book. Overall, some of the intensity was lost.
That said, the narration was again excellent. It made the book better.
There is talk of a third book in this series, but the author is apparently busy with other projects. This sequel took two years to follow the first book, which was a shame since the first book ended on such a cliffhanger. The ending here wasn't convenient or simple, but it did leave things open for another book. This story isn't finished. Hopefully James will take time to write the third book and finish the series. Milo and Nick's story is definitely not finished. I look forward to what comes next.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I KNEW IT. I KNEW IT, I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN. GAH.
*eye is still twitching*
FIRST WARNING: This is the second in a series...trilogy...im more than certain its a trilogy, so there will not be spoilers for this one, but most likely the first one.
Song Choice: "Satellite Heart" by Anya Marina, "All I Want Is You" by Barry Louis Polisar, "My Love" by Sia
First thoughts: Well I was very pleased with waiting to read the first book in this series until this one was out, but as patterns go, this also had a cliffie and i am more than certain i know something but i can't say because SPOILER, but i wish i had waited to read this only until i knew when the next one was coming out XD. Anyways - as good if not better than the first ^.^
Thoughts on Plot: So this one moved fast, fast, fast, the first one had a bit of a slower pace, well this one you just go go go and i LOVED IT, seriously LOVED. So anyways the plot thickens all, we are learning a little more about Vera and Nick's race, we are running the hell away from the DOD, we are just in an ever state of moving. I loved the action in this book, ahh so good. And while i figured things out pretty quickly i didn't even care. i was just ready to eat this story up - warning about half way through this book you won't be able to stop, so make sure you have time to read it or you will be kicking yourself. The romance between Nick and Milo - holy hotness, ladies grab your fans. ;)
Characters:
Milo: Milo is awesome as she was in book one, she has a lot A LOT A LOT to deal with in this book and i think she does it splendidly. I really enjoyed her in this book, while she wasn't that awkward weird girl, she started to grow more into herself, more sure of herself and that was awesome to see. Therre isn't a whole lot to say more about her other than i loved her as much i as i did before.
Nick: sexy as always. i think he too came out of his shell a bit more in this book. again i don't have much to add from my first review of Nick, i liked him and I can't wait to have more of him. now please.
The ending: I so think i know what is going on and i want to tell someone my awesome theory who has read this book....anyways besides that i need more like now. right now. NOW.
2.5 would be my review for both books. It isn't bad and characters are not annoying but after finishing second book in this trilogy I must say I'm disappointed. I must have expected more. And while characters aren't annoying I didn't particularly care about them. The atmosphere and lots of details were missing (details like how she walked barefoot without really hurting her feet and how other people didn't noticed she was barefoot also most of the time I wasn't sure if it is night or daytime). There are writers who can convince you and make you nod in agreement at most ridiculous plots, twists, characters, etc. And while the plot in this book wasn't too unreasonable and characters behaved in somewhat logical and expected way (with some exceptions ) it wasn't convincing. It's like you hear story being told, not relive story while you read it. Story without convincing atmosphere and memorable characters isn't much entertaining unless it has awesome plot and this one has average. Milo's past is told in snippets that were too fragmented to connect with her pain and sorrow. It had potential. There was a lot of action and while I usually like it I don't think it was done in the way that I find appealing. Despite my low rating and criticism I liked these books I just thought they would/could be much better.
On a side note, summaries for both books are big spoilers.
No repeats, no backtracking, so if you didn’t read the first book you would best go read it to understand alot of references made within this book. But if you haven’t read *Here* you could still read and enjoy this book.
Love Ella James writing style as it flows. Grabs you with the first chapter and continues to hold you until the last words. Love the character, love the story-line – and want more.
Its a clean story with no sex, no cursing and that is so nice which makes for a quick read with all the action. I can’t remember when the last time I read a book with no background music as I did with this one. But I have to remember that I read mostly at lunch so hence the reason for no music. THen today it was just me and the baby, so quiet and peaceful.

Trapped follows on right from where Here finishes off, so you will need to have read it first.
We are thrown right into things with Milo, Nick and Vera. It is full throttle right from the start as our trio are on the run from the men in black. The aliens still want to destroy humanity, Milo can't believe it is all happening.
We are taken on a ride, and now we just need part 3 to find out how things turn out.
I love the chemistry between Milo and Nick, and I am starting to warm a bit to Vera. Things with her are very interesting at the end! Milo's friends thought - not liking so much!
Ms James has a knack of drawing you into the stories, and she has done this again with Trapped. I don't read many paranormal books, but I love this series.
I hope it is not too long before book 3, as I get very impatient!!
Trapped is one of those awesome Sci-fi, YA Romances that will have you buying up all of Ella James titles, just like I did... and you will be combing the night sky for a Nick of your own! When Milo first meets Nick she has no idea how he seemed to show up out of thin air to become tranqued when she was trying to tag a deer she was to monitor; learning the truth was the beginning of an adventure that would tear her from her quiet normal life. On the run Milo and Nick now must try to convince Nick's alien partner, Vera, that Earth isn't only worth being saved from Vera and Nick's kind, but that their own kind might not be worth saving.
This book is definitely of the YA genre. The only reason I didn't give it a five star review is that I'm so not a fan of scifi. But,the book was action packed from the first page till the last and kept my attention very well.
Milo and Nick's story continues in this second book.
No place for them to run to, no place to hide that they won't be found.
Not many people that they can trust and, they ones who are trustworthy are immediately in danger by association.
Lots of new information comes to light in this book. Read it to find out!!!
Ok wow, book two was awesome. Cliffhangers drive me crazy, but damn I loved this. So much emotion, distress, and hope. Kind of expected it to happe, but it still caught me off guard. Shed some tears here and there. Felt my fist clench in anger and had to count to three to calm down when shit hit the fan. But just glad I finally got to finish trapped. Milo is my girl and I hope she gets a HEA. Must know when book three will be out, so Ella please let us know, and if hope it's soon. You can't leave me worried. <3<3
Another good book in this series. I liked this book a bit more than the first one - probably because the story was already established and I had already adjusted to the author's writing style. It continued the story from right where the first book left off. IN this book there was quite a bit more action and also more romance between Nick and Milo. It was sweet and I'm gutted the final book isn't available yet - I can't wait to see what happens. I'd recommend this series to anyone looking for a quick and easy sci-fi romance read.
Ella James has managed to keep me guessing on how book two of the Here trilogy will end and of course has surprised me. Nick of course is absolutely adorable. I can honestly say that I went from hating Vera to liking her. Thank you for the epilogue at least to give me some relief on the direction of the next book. Looking forward to it playing out.....so, hurry Ella James. :)
Amazing!! Oh my this was a ride! So much action and craziness had me flipping pages as fast as I could! Things got real in this book. On the run with more and more chaos they face lots of challenges. That surprise I did not see coming just changed the whole series in a crazy awesome way. I am extremely excited for the next book!
This is the second book in this series. It has non-stop action from the beginning to the end. The main characters have a bound between them like no other and it is out of this world romance. Can't wait until the next book comes out.
This one continues on right where we left off and is just as fast paced as the 1st! It takes you on another emotional rollercoaster and plummets you off the deep end into somewhere you never imagined! Hurry Ella and write faster!!
I was really disappointed with this second book. I loved the first one, but this felt like a whole bunch of nothing just to finish off a single idea. And not nearly enough romance!
Oh well, some books just can't ever compete with their older sibling(s).
Book 2 Is a rollercoaster with sweet interludes. Milo and Nick are in the run from the DoD and has a few cast of characters added into the mix. Bring in book 3 please...
It was a nice read.. nothing special except the ending.. which left me pretty curious about the next one.. let's hope it will be a litte more interesting. 2.5 stars
