Countess Adrienne Rouchard is beautiful, strong, passionate—and a vampire. Cast out of the True Kin vampire community for turning a human without the Elders’ approval, she has been a fugitive these past hundred years, slipping in and out of the darkness as she seeks the human blood she must have to stay alive.
Adrienne has left a trail of lovers over the centuries, but none has pierced her heart like the vampire Daniel O’Shay. A chance meeting in a marketplace rekindles a passion she had thought lost forever.
Hunted and pursued by friend and foe alike, Adrienne is only one step ahead of those who seek her. Drenched with intrigue, adventure and desire, Outcast is a paranormal romance filled with action and suspense, with mysteries to unravel and darkness in every corner.

'Outcast' is the second book in Claire Thompson's "True Kin Vampire Tales" series. To be honest, if I thought book one, 'Sacred Circle' was good, this book blew me away! Now we have a multi-layered storyline filled with chemistry, intrigue, and drama. Julian takes Ruby to his home in France where they intend to meet Gustav, an Elder of his Kin so she can be recognized as a born vampire. While there they learn of vampires being killed, a decision concerning Adrienne de Pierre Rouchard, the Countess responsible for giving Julian the gift of the vampire is given and assurances that the council would start doing research into the files in order to try and find Ruby's parentage. To quote someone in the book, the telling of this tale is almost like watching a soap opera. Twists and turns abound that continued to keep this reader intrigued with all that was going on. I'm on the edge of my seat now to see where this goes next.
Truly kin! What started with one lonely vampire finding another, is slowly growing into a multi layered story with heroes and villains, brushes with death and saving of lives, realizing long buried longings are still very much alive and new love is blooming in unexpected circumstances. The forgiveness of an old wrong opens the possibility to eliminate an old evil. And all this told with a sensuousness that is breathtaking in its rawness. I can't wait to see where the story leads next.
Book 2 of the True Kin Vampire Tales is another story romance of a Vampire from the community that has been outcate for breaking code. Adrienne a strong headed and passionate Vampire trying to avoid getting court by them but a girl has needs!!.... Hot naughty ones... I love her!! This Character has everything in a woman I look up to.
But when she bumps into a Vamp from the past called Daniel, will old feeling she has been trying to forget awakens? I'm so would!! like DAM this Vampire is hotness on hot drinking blood of a prime male.
Yet Claire has done another great paranormal story that grips you from the off and drags you kicking and screaming! (Not littoralley) and another fasted passed read that takes you to places with a hole different feel too this genre. Looking forward to the next book in these tales of Claires.
This is the second book in this series. It starts with Ruby and Julian and their lives in France. But quickly becomes centered on Adrienne Rouchard and her vampire lover Daniel O’Shay. Their story is fascinating history. Laced with danger and intrigue. But is Daniel the wanderlust that Adrienne assumes? Or is there another reason for his disappearances? And there is a cameo appearances of Margo Patrick and Robert Dalton. This is a great read on it’s own. But it builds off the first. There is a lot of action, mystery and steamy romance. I look forward to the next book in this series. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.
This second book continues the journey of Julian and Ruby. They find themselves in France to meet with one of the elders. This begins their adventure and leads them too so much more. As their story unfolds, we also get to see more of Adrianne’s tale. There are some twists and turns in this book that will keep readers interested. Ruby and Julian are in for some interesting truths along the way. This is an engaging tale for these characters, and it will be interesting to see where it all ends for them.
Some exciting and fascinating twists come your way in this book. Nothing is exactly as it seems, a long game is being played, making for an excellent and engrossing storyline.
I wasn't sure I would take to Adrienne after all she had done, but, as normally happens in well written stories, sympathies change and new heroines emerge.
Book 3 should be quite epic with the hunt on for the bad guys and the drama that will bring.
A bit has happened since we last left Ruby and Julien, but the story really ramps up now. Stray threads are combined and events come into focus. The fake bad and the real bad are revealed, and we get more couples to be steamy and sweetling with. Complete in its’ story arc and conclusion, but you know there is more to come, and I can’t wait for it!
Another great story in this series. The authors take on vampire life is rather unusual and the story is written in an almost clinical way but depicts lives full of passion and lust! Colourful and sensual story! Great read, highly recommended
It’s the continuation of Julian and Ruby. Ruby meets Adrienne. Good can’t wait for the next book. I hope there is more than 3 books. There are many possibilities for more stories for Julian and Ruby.
An amazing sequel to the first book. Full of exciting and entertaining personalities, a twist you won't necessarily see coming and beyond skillful writing that will capture your attention and enthrall you. I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC.
Reviewed on behalf of 2 Girls Who Love Books Blog A tale as old as time. You can take this quite literally because Sacred Circle really is a Vampire Tale. As such its writing style is more telling than showing, nevertheless I really liked almost everything on this book. This one is the second book in the True Kin Vampire Tales and I really liked the continuing of the story. I love how everything played out with Grace’s heritage (my guess was right by the way) and all of the other loose ends that turned up in the first book. I really liked that no one died in this story, because honestly I expected it, however how they handled everything was way better than I thought it would be. I really hope there will be a third book to tie up the other loose ends that turned up during this story and because I really like the writing style of this author. It flowed good and sucked me directly in the story. However I have to mention this even though I said it with the first one as well. I wouldn’t put the BDSM label on this book, because it was too tame for my taste. 4.5 stars.
Perfect continuation to book one. I really liked how Ms. Thompson tied up the loose ends from book one. She has an unique writing style that just has me begging for more.
Grace learns of her parentage in this book, and it completely took me by surprise. I won't give any spoilers away I just want to say wow!!! Julian is there always to comfort Grace when she finds out who her parents are.
Adrienne makes an appearance in this book also. It follows her through her travels as a fugitive hiding from Elders who wish to drain her blood for the crime she has committed. She has hid from her kind, never knowing who to trust. That is until she meets Daniel O'Shay. He becomes her vampire lover and throughout the years they come together in hot steamy passion. They spend days or years together, but Daniel always leaves her because of his secrets shattering her heart.
I love Ms. Thompson's writing style. She keeps us on the edge of our seats with all of the suspense. Can't wait for book 3!!!
Outcast is a continuation of book one Sacred Circle. So we get more of Julian Gaston and Grace Davis. We learn who is Grace Davis birth mother which came as a surprise to me. No I can’t say who her birth mother is and yes you need to read this book.
I really liked Outcast a little more than Claire Thompson’s first book Sacred Circle. Because we learn more of the characters in Sacred Circle. We learn more of Countess Adrienne Rouchard the vampire that turned Julian Gaston. She has been cast out of the True Kin vampire community because vampires are not allowed to turn a human without the consent of the Elders and not every vampire knows how to turn humans so it just isn’t done often. I don’t want to say a lot about this book other than I really enjoyed reading Outcast.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Even though Outcast is an ARC I bought the next book in this series because I just need to see what happens next.
I give Outcast 4.5 stars and I will be reading Sacred Blood very soon.
The second book in this series is yet another great book from Ms. Thompson. She was able to continue on with the story and tie u some things left open from the first book.
I truly love the writing style of this author I wish I had a word to describe it but if you really want to know read the books and you will know what I am talking about.
Grace's heritage plays out in this second book along with a few other things and with the talent of this author's writing everything was smooth and flowed allowing me to be involved from beginning to end and read in one sitting!!! The book has some steamy scenes and romance so it is well put together and again like I said with the first book a UNIQUE story line.
Again,I recommend this to PNR lovers everywhere and I hope there is yet another book in this series to come!!!
I received an ARC in exchange for an HONEST REVIEW for Rockstar Book Muse
I enjoyed this book as much as the first and was pleased that it has more or less continued from where book one left off. Whilst we still have Julian and Grace, we also have Adrienne, who turned Julian into a vampire many years ago. Fleeing from her coven and becoming untraceable from the Elders, we learn where she has been and what she has been up to. The author continues the storyline for Grace and Julian also, don't think you get to meet new characters and forget the old. You don't. Even Margo is back.
I loved all the characters from the start of the series and continue to love them in this book.
Like book one, the story flowed well and the style of writing was easy to follow. Again, no supernatural jargon involved which is always a bonus for any supernatural book. The book is full of love, longing, emotions, sex plus a lot more.

Review 3.75 I jumped straight into Outcast after finishing Sacred Circle and a great second book we got. Again we get aspects of BDSM and we get to find out about Grace's Parents and heritage which for me added even more and gave me the closure i didn't find in Sacred Circle about her past. Along with Julian and Grace we follow Adrienne and her story of hiding due the crime she committed with the Elders trying to find her she finds it hard to trust until she meets Daniel, but Daniel has his own secrets. Again fans of paranormal romance will devour this series but like the first book i'm left with some unanswered questions so jumping straight into book three Sacred Blood!! Bring it on this series is getting better and better.
I was given a free copy for an honest review, Meeting up with a long lost lover, passions ignite in this steamy sexy, paranormal vampire romance novel. Nonstop action as the countess is being hunted. Suspenseful, Steamy, and Riveting.
