Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.

Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

She loves to hear from her readers and can be reached at mariehallwrites@gmail.com!

This may have been the most magical book of the series thus far. The love that developed for both Jinni and Paz happened in the inbetween. She was hovering at death's door and he was slowly slipping away. Only what they felt for each other kept them tethered to our world. Their story was beautiful, painful, eerie, and lovely. I'm really enjoying myself with these books!

I actually put "sexy middle eastern men" into the Google search engine so I could find my perfect Jinni. Seriously....I did! I couldn't read & think about him being remotely attractive without imagining Robin William's voice & the big blue hulk in "Aladdin." But OH BOY, did Google deliver!

This book actually pulled at my heart strings & made me the most emotional so far in the series. I think everyone can relate to having regrets & making bad decisions & letting them have a huge impact on your present/future. Out of the first four bad boys, Jinni was the most of a mystery to me. Since the first book, I've wondered what was his deal & why was he "disappearing." There really isn't much I can say without giving it away, but I am so in love with this series. I can't wait for Hook's book. I am so upset that it will be the last but I am so excited for other books to come from Marie Hall. I can honestly say that she has not disappointed me yet!!! STANDING OVATION!!!!

This is the 4th book of the Kingdom series, and is more character-driven than the others in the series, providing an interesting wrap-up to the story of the boys with a softly drawn romance.

As with all of the books in this series, the author has pulled a female character from our time who is just slightly unsettled in her life, usually in terms of love. Paz is no different, a talented artist with a dream of a love that mirrors the one her brother has found, she is thrust into a story beyond all logical bounds that tests her willingness to believe love will find her.

In beautifully detailed and poignant scenes, we travel the cosmos with Paz and Jinni as he uses the last of his life force to prove his love for her. With a touch of fairy godmother interference, and more than a touch of Danika's kick-butt attitude, she demands Jinni fight for love, for Paz and for the future that he believes is undeserved.

Another winner in this series, the switch to a more character-driven plot suits the characters and their story perfectly. Jinni has been a recurrent character in the other 3 stories, but always on the sidelines without a major part. Providing a background for him, explaining his motivations and his oft bad attitude and snarky approach to the other boys in Danika's group of four, the story revealed in this book made all of his previous interactions make sense. A great wrap-up to a series that is certain to please many adults who enjoy romance and a touch of fairy tale.

I received an eBook copy from the author as a beta read, and was not compensated for this review. All conclusions are my own responsibility.

Enjoyable

This was an enjoyable story. Most of the time the characters were a bit dull because they were dying, but there was some exciting parts. Jinni's story is really sad especially since he is a victim and a murderer. Paz is an amzing woman to accept all of Jinni no matter what. I guess that is how it is with soul mates. My favorite part was the dancing on the stars.

I loved the previous three books but this was a little depressing all the way through i still liked the concept and the story but i did not love it.

I am not sure who Jinni was supposed to be Jafar or Genie from Aladin or a mix of the both as the story Jinni tells is one i never heard with no familiarity.

But i am eagerly awaiting the next installment as Neverland was always my favorite fairy tale and if its anything like her mad hatter i am sure i'm going to love it.

Romance

This is a pure romance novel. There is very little plot or character development. I find I need more out of a book.

So cute

This was so cheesy. I absolutely love it. The love and feeling involved was felt between the 2 characters and the passion.

Just like Marie Hall's other books I loved it!!

Jinni's Wish is Tender, sweet, a little gloomy, and really makes you melt. It really does have a different vibe than the rest of the series but still fits it very well. Hall as always is very true to her characters and the story line shows it. The love scenes are not as intense as her other books and there isn't many, but they are tender and sweet and it sticks with you.Jinni really is a true gentleman and knows how to treat someone special. Jinni and Paz are both very vunerable characters and you feel the sorrow that surrounds them and you start to see it disappear as thier love grows stronger for each other. It is a truly moving love story that will make you believe that love can transcend death.

You also get the pleasure of glimpsing Jinni's past. There are several chapters where Jinnis is telling his heart wrenching past. It'll make you smile and melt ehrn you read about his connection with a lonely little girl and it will make you cry at the betrayal and tragedy that it ends in. It in itself is a mini story with in this book.

If you have not read anything from Marie Hall yet, I highly recommend that you do. It is well worth it. Her first book in the Kingdom series, "Her Mad Hatter," is free on Amazon right now, and even better you can get the first 3 books in the series all in one for a great price you certainly save and you get a little bit of extra material. Wish I had seen it first!!

This was my least favourite book in this series, I didn't like it at all. I thought the characters were stiff and the storyline forced. I have loved and been a big fan of the other books in the series but this one was just not for me.

The main characters were Paz and jinni, Paz an artist with big dreams but not enough resources to do them. Jinni was in love once but a long time ago, we get glimpses of his love through flashbacks. I'm going to be honest and say I'm not entirely sure how the two meet or the relationship began because I think I had lost interest by that point but I'm sure Danika the fairy godmother of all the bachelors in this series.

There were not very many secondary characters.

The storyline I thought was forced although I liked the flashbacks to the jinni's previous love. The pacing was good, and I will continue with the rest of the series because I have loved the authors other books and the other books in this series, I just think this may not have been the book for me.

I have read the other books in the Kingdom Series. Each one captivated me with its unique twist on "classic" fairy tales. I fell head over heels in love with each set of couples in the three books.

Now, Ms. Hall has done it again. I won't summarize the book, as there is already a section dedicated to that. What I will do is tell you that this book went on a whole new level. A level that is inbetween the two worlds (Earth and Kingdom). A place that these two lost souls had to be on in order to meet.

Jinni's pain brings him to a place where Paz must be on the edge of death to reach him. Paz and Jinni fall in love on a spiritual level; their story is beautiful and enthralling. I absolutely loved it and read it straight through in one day...I couldn't bear to walk away until I finished the story.

I look forward to Hook's Pan and more from Ms. Hall. As always, a thrilling read that has me waiting for more.

Just like the others of the Kingdom Collection, is this pretty nice, lovely and of cause sexy. But I think this is a bit different anyway. Jinni, I thought about him as Aladdin but with a deep and rough voice.

Paz was in a plane and well, ... it ended up that she was into the hospital, not living but also not yet dead.
But while she was in the plane a man sat next to her. Tristen was that kind of men she liked.

Paz was always looking after someone like Todd, her brothers boyfriend.

Paz met Jinni out of space.

It was a really nice reading, really fast and I like the way Marie Hall put Jinni's story in this. He made a mistake, a huge one and lost almost everything just because he trusted a woman who just used him. He was broken. For many many years or even centuries. But than he met Paz ...

Jinni’s Wish ( Kingdom Series #4 ) by Marie Hall
I absolutely LOVE Marie Hall’s work. I became a huge fan of her writing after starting the Kingdom Series. Her books are fun, light hearted, witty and very sexy. They will keep you turning the pages until the end. ‘Jinni’s Wish’ is the poignant story of Jinni ( from Aladdin) and Paz as they find each other and fall in love. It is a modern retelling of the classic fairy tale but with a dark and compelling twist. It is an imaginative read that is engaging, humorous and utterly addictive. The story is full of magic, characters that you will fall in love with, and set in a frighteningly beautiful Wonderland, which is nothing like the Wonderland of your childhood bedtime stories. This book is a great read which I highly recommend.

Jinni is fading fast and Danika the Fairy Godmother can do nothing about it or can she? Paz Lopez wants what her brother has a Todd of her own. When she takes an unexpected trip to Alaska Paz's world is turned upside down. Paz is a painter with incredible insight thru her paintings. Jinni reluctantly agrees to Danika's plans for him. Jinni likes Paz and how she can draw out his story. Will Jinni admit his feelings? Will Paz become nothing? Find out in Jinni's Wish.

I'm really liking this series. They are unique and intriguing in concept. I applaud the author for her cleverness in doing these stories. The characters are real, honest, interesting, compelling, flawed, and thoughtful too.

I adored Her Mad Hatter and Gerard’s Beauty. (Didn’t care for Red and Her Wolf). That said, I was disappointed with this book. I did like it better than Red. While they were both okay characters, I didn’t really connect with either the Jinni nor Paz. The book felt like it was trying too hard to be diverse. Mainly I didn’t connect with Paz because she seemed really superficial. She was the type who was into clothes and shoes, and looks, and how good looking she wanted her ideal other to be, and that she was resting who she was on being in love. The cliched necklaces felt like a writer’s crutch to blatantly show the amount of love in the book (and not to mention was borrowed directly out of Gerard’s Beauty. At least in that book it had a reason to be there). The whole them hanging out in the hospital as ghosts (Can we say first season of Saving Hope the TV show?) made the whole story seem really insubstantial. I never really had a handle on Jinni’s character. With Hatter and Gerard, we knew their characters from the famous fairy tales. This would also be why I never really connected with Wolf. Jinni is not the genie from the Aladdin tale. There is no mention of Aladdin or his princess or any of the history of their genie. Also, this genie never presented as a genie. The only things he had in common with the Aladdin genie was that he was big and blue and in Arabia and the name. There were never any wishes made and there was no lamp. So, what makes him a genie? I did like the flashbacks through genie’s time at the palace. It felt very lavish and I could easily picture it. And the gradual romance was nice, even if I didn’t connect to the characters.

*****Spoilers*****

I'd say this one was more a 2.6 but not to the level of a 2. I was mostly impatient with the metaphysical aspects of this book. I've never been one to appreciate dream space or spiritual realm interactions and for the majority of this book, Jinni and Paz are ghosts or something. Getting to know one another as her body heals from a crash and he decides if he'll take the body of the golem that his fairly godmother left for him to be with Paz.

The last chapter of the book is the best as they get to be together, flesh to flesh. Of course, the soulmate bond and forever is appealing and I was glad Paz got the happily ever after with Jinni. Still don't understand why Jinni couldn't have just told Paz of his past instead of showing her in images but he does. Jinni being a djinn and the setup was interesting and different so that was a plus.

Like the others in this series, it follows one of the Bad Five who is charged to Danika; their Fairy Godmother, as they try to find their soul mate.

In this story, we follow Jinni who is close to death and at times refuses to accept that he can find happiness. We meet Paz who is an artist and on a whim decides to go to Alaska but while travelling there, an accident occurs and she has to chose between life and death.

This book like the others left me wanting to continue reading to find out what would happen next and not stop. The characters were well rounded and the reader could identify with them and feel their pain, love, heartache and happiness.

These books keep getting better

There's errors, but that's an editor's job. The storytelling is continually improving. This might be my favorite so far, and I'm usually such a sucker for beauty and the beast or little red riding hood. Seeing someone so used to self sabotage trying to figure out how to want happiness and to reach for it was interesting. And I liked that the ending didn't mean everything was perfect. Healing and adjusting were still needed, and the book said as much, but it ended on such a hopeful note.

I really liked it, but it seemed to me that we spent too much time learning Jinni's story. I wanted more time with him and Paz. I needed more from their relationship than that they were true mates. She loves him despite his past, okay, Why? She knows nothing about him except his past. Show me more! I know it's a novella, but it could be a slightly longer novella.

I know I complained a lot, but I did like it.

It's pretty heartbreaking to read about this two people looking for their true love.
Also the comatose state Paz is in, is also very confrontational.
Hard to think about it, must have been hard to write about it too.
Very emotional.

Quote from the book: “You were a genie once. If you could have had one wish, what would it have been?”

I received this book as part of the Demons & Djinn boxset, and thought that this book was as close to a true djinn tale as I've read so far. This is the story of Jinni, as he tells Pax of his beginnings and downfall. Jinni's tale is a sorrowful one, but the emotion down by him and Pax, his potential soulmate, are apparent on every page. This is as much a romance as it is a fantasy tale.

Soul mates

We get to learn Jinni’s story. Paz and he are both on the edge of death, and only their love can save them. If only Jinni can stop hating himself and let love in.
It was a different story since they were both spirits instead of corporal people. Of course we get a hea!

I was disappointed in this book. I loved the first 3 but this one fell short. I didn’t love the hospital stay for the entirety of the book and the whole Golem thing was odd. It was fine...but not the best in the series by any means.

This one was a little awkward. Why tell your dream girl about how the sex was with a different woman? Could have done without that. Also very mushy and Jinni just annoyed me.
