did like it one bit, i fear. this could have been great, an alpha wanting to be with alpha that has the body for it.. nice. kinda. sorta. but the way it was delivered ? undevelopped. rythm wobbly. depth lacking..
This was so ridiculous. I think this had a lot of potential, but boy the execution? What a mess.
This about an alpha who wants to be an omega. By day Arima's your typical alpha, a manager at his father's company, admired by his subordinates, etc. etc., but by night he works as an omega call boy. One day one of his clients cancels on him, but he ends up bumping into who's exactly his type in a changing room. The two end up having a one night stand that miraculously results in Arima getting pregnant. Years pass before the two meet again and try to be a family.
Okay so like the concept? pretty interesting. An alpha wanting to be an omega and the sort of intersex thing where he's biologically an alpha, but has a uterus. All very different and interesting things, but it all moved so fast that everything felt so goofy. A lot of their actions didn't make sense and it seemed like it was just to stir up drama that the story didn't need. So many things didn't make sense and the insta love in this was really bad. I don't think either of the characters had enough of each other to be in love beyond the physical. It would've made more sense if they were maybe fated or if they were fond of each other, but fell in love once they were forced to become a family.
There's so much in this that is so half thought out that it's frustrating. Like the dad firing him after he decided to keep the baby makes sense in the whole toxic masculinity "alphas can't be weak" mentality of omegaverse, but like Arima apparently didn't work for those 3 years between getting pregnant and looking for Mitsuki, but he thought his parents disowned him? Did he have that much money saved that he could support himself and a child unemployed for 3 years? Also the father was so nice?? So like him firing him would've made sense if he was like doing it to protect Arima, but Arima misunderstood and thought he was disowning him, but it's just not talked about at all. Arima as a character is just really frustrating plus he's so embarrassing sometimes lol.
I could honestly go on and on with all the issues I have about this and how it could be better, but I'm going to stop here. I think I'll still continue on with the sequel, but god this was a tough read. The story gives me so much secondhand embarrassment.
Sweet but erotic; even though it has censorship. Sweet story, short but very much a love story and an acceptance of differences. I enjoyed it, wished there was a little more in the relationship but it built up slowly in time and they needed to work through old fears. Enjoyable but not for everyone.
Mitsuki is absolutely amazing and Arima can have his adorable moments, plus their kid is so cute!!! Also the families are lowkey supportive and I love that, we like healthier relationships.
4/5. Highlights may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.
Content Warnings for book: Survival sex work, body shaming, dysphoria, pregnancy, infertility struggles
Kink: N/A
This was good though sad just because we are often in Arima’s perspective. Lots of internalized dysphoria, and the struggles with infertility are the focus of the second season.
Secret baby trope is not for everyone but I did like how it was handled here. It was also just very sweet in general - Izumi is a VERY good alpha. He’s kind, considerate, great husband material. Arima needs therapy tbh, and I mean that with kindness. He had a lot of anxiety and dysphoria that deserves being dealt with as to not hurt his husband.
This is also the first omegaverse manga I’ve read that has addressed consent and heat.
3.5 stars Wollte mal Omegaverse ausprobieren.
I mean, this does deliver an interesting twist on the Omegaverse, but the surprise baby trap, eben if completely by accident, did not work for me. The insta not only love but family rubbed me completely the wrong way. Every conflict that stems from a premise you feel to be ludicrous will not land whatsoever, so the two of us did not get along.
CNs for unprotected sex, sex work, (initial) parental ostracisation, surprise pregnancy (the mpreg isn't explored at all tho)
Anyways.....Arima really needed to work past his insecurities. You might say that his insecurities were the Villain or antagonist in this story. Fortunately, coming down to the end, he truly figured it out. Other than that, it was too cuteeeeee.😭
¡UGH! Me enoja.

5 stars. I needed the comfort today. That's it that's the review.
Original Review: 5 stars. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read this. I adore this manga so very much! It’s such a comfort read for me. Arima and Mitzuki and their son Ayumu are so fucking precious. And then their newest addition to the family in the end *sobs*. This is such a sweet, romantic, and gentle omegaverse slice of life and I will never get tired of it.
