This is a great standalone romantic suspense within a loosely connected series and is a KU library read. It kept me reading most of the night. The featured couple met six months earlier, after Dr. Shelby Grant moved home to the U.S. from France. Her new fiance, Chief of Police Mitchell Turner, is in the middle of an investigation into the operations of a local mob boss, Rossington. So when Shelby is attacked while leaving a free clinic where she volunteers, Mitchell's first thought is Rossington. But Shelby didn't see her attacker and the janitor who scared him away didn't get a good look at him. Then Mitchell sees Shelby somewhere she shouldn't have been, and secrets begin to come out. Secrets that will test the limits of their relationship. This book gets 4.5 stars.
I just loved this book! The couple is already engaged at the start of the story, but Shelby has a huge secret. The romance was believable from page 1 and I just adored Shelby and Mitch. Mitch was a great hero and really made the story for me. The suspense angle was great and really kept my interest.
This is a really good series. I really am enjoying it. I recommend this series. This series has the thrills that keep you reading it. It is so worth reading .
I really liked this book, but it was more romance then suspense. The book is about Police Chief Mitch Turner who was introduced in "Snowbound" the 2nd book in this series. In this book he is trying to build a case against a mobster but hasn't had much luck. His fiancé is Shelby who has some big secrets she hasn't shared with Mitch. It's hard to say much more about what this book was about without giving too much away. The book really centered around Mitch and Shelby's relationship and the love, betrayal and forgiveness between the two of them. The author did a wonderful job of helping the reader really understand the struggles and decisions the two characters made. I loved that Mitch didn't just "write" Shelby off when he discovered her betrayal. He still loved her and although he was hurt he put that aside to keep her safe. I liked development of the relationship as they figured out whether they could still be a couple and how they felt about each other once the truth had been revealed. I would have liked a longer epilogue in this book. After all, it was a huge betrayal and there were quiet a few things still to wrap up in my mind.
Pursued is the story about Mitch and Shelby. From the first the book drew me in. I felt for Shelby and her love for her daughter was out there to see. The struggle she had with lying to Mitch and being caught. I found the chemistry between Mitch and Shelby good and the suspense very intriguing.
Loved this book. The suspense grabbed me at the beginning & kept me reading until I finished. The dialogue & plot keeps you on your toes as you read & the writer tosses in unexpected twists to keep you going. On to Book 4!
