"There's no turning back now."

description

Uncovered is the second book in the Colours of Love Series. Unbound, the first book in the series, had quite a cliffhanger at the end. I was anxious to find out what would happen next to the "sex god" Jonathan and the "young and vibrant" Grace.

description
At the conclusion of Unbound, it was unknown if Jonathan would be willing to walk away from the illustrious sex club he frequently visits in order to pursue a genuine relationship with Grace. Grace is only in London for the duration of her internship. When the internship comes to an end, will Grace stay in London with Jonathan or will she return home to the United States?

"There really is a connection between us, one that he won't be able to deny. That's why I'm still here, why he isn't able to drive me away with his domineering ways."

Grace and Jonathan have the makings of a beautiful relationship. However, Jonathan has demons from his past that have held him back from truly giving himself to someone. When Jonathan begins to draw closer to Grace, he is constantly at odds with himself. Grace begins to doubt if she will be enough for Jonathan. She is desperate to draw him in and yet keep her dignity intact!

description

The sexual chemistry is off the charts between these two. Although Grace may have started out relatively innocent, Jonathan hasn't wasted anytime catching her up on all things "wild and crazy" in the bedroom. It is the intimacy shared between the two that finally begins to breakdown the barriers. Jonathan begins to want more with Grace. As with most relationships, there are elements of tension rising all around them.

"I'm ablaze with desire and abandon myself completely to his rhythm."

description

Uncovered is a perfect read for people who enjoy the "sexy business man falls for his innocent intern" plot line. The writing is heavy on the narrative side and yet, I felt like it worked well in this installment. The characters were much more developed in this book and I was pleasantly surprised with how things progressed. In addition to liking the main characters, I really enjoyed getting to know the secondary characters as well. Of course, my favorite element of the read was the setting. Who doesn't love a good read set in England?

description

"I've decided not to give up, to fight for him..."

description
Overall, Uncovered was a winning read. I highly recommend it for my friends who like Bared to You or 50 Shades of Grey. This was definitely my favorite of the two books and I am sincerely looking forward to reading the third book Unleashed!

"I love you and I don't want to be parted from you ever again."

After reading book one and that bad-but-not-horrible cliffhanger I was ready to dive into this story. The Colors of Love series was originally written and published in German. And I was skeptical at first, but I must say this series has been a beautiful one.

Based in London, Jonathan Huntingtonm the elusive Earl with a million dollar company and his intern Grace are in a relationship where they find themselves at odds with their feelings for each other. There is a push and pull dynamic and circumstances causes Grace to question whether Jonathan is right or wrong for her.

This one did come off a bit wordy to me at times, but the characters, especially Grace, are very charming, so it's not off-putting. It was fabulous buddy reading this with Liz and I'm excited to start book three.

4.5 I need you stars. This books picks up right where the first left off and it just kept the story rolling. Grace ran out of the sex club and Jonathan followed her because he can't bear to not have her. Ah, yes, it does seem the unattainable Jonathan Huntington has been attained by Grace.

While Grace struggles with loving Jonathan and not getting hurt at the end, Jonathan struggles with all the feelings Grace unearths. The two have incredible chemistry and are extremely aware of one another. The sex is off the charts. The possessive nature Jonathan tends to display is sexy and yet a bit confusing.

I liked the twists and checkmates that this story allowed to happen. I even liked Grace because she isn't a babbling idiot and knew she had to do what was right for her at the end of day, even if it meant breaking her own heart. I liked Hunter (Jonathan) quite a bit because he blossomed and grew on the pages. He wasn't stupid enough to stay the same and realized that change is necessary, especially when love and happiness are on the line. I look forward to seeing how the next book wraps up this interesting little love story.

4.25 "I like you in all colours" stars

The forbidden relationship between Grace Lawson and Jonathan Huntington is NOT that forbidden anymore as they continue their passionate affair, Jonathan is still elusive even though he's slightly opening up but not enough, at least not in the way Grace would like him to.

their laison is passionate, wild and their esplore each other's limits but only sexually since Jonathan stops any hints of deeper converations on any emotional subject.

Even though he's keeping Grace close, he's letting her in into his business, offering her the opportunity of a lifetime, that is the only closness other than physical he can offer, or wants to for that matter.

When Jonathan's family ties and issues start to coming to the surfice, and when push comes to shove, Jonathan denies her and becomes detached once more. Grace sets the ultimatum...

and it does not look good...but at the crucial moment Jonathan mans-up and finally admits his weakness.
"Have you any idea how shit-scared it makes me that I'm completely in your power? That everything depends on you?
Everything's pointless without you."

even though he took a huge step proclaiming his feelings towards Grace, there are still certain points Jonathan never wants to get to.

And things just might go there...

Yay! I finally got to read the second book of the Colours of Love series, Uncovered. I've been waiting for this book since finishing the first book in April. The first book ended with a huge cliffhanger, so it was a long six month wait to finally get some closure.

This book picks up right where the first book ended. Grace has just walked out of the club, not willing to share Jonathan with anyone. She wants more with him and she wants him to fight to be with her. Little did she know that he would literally fight for her. He gets into a fist fight with Yuuto in the driveway of the club.

After they drive away from the club together they spend all of their free time together. This is a great start at a real relationship between them. Just what Grace wants. And the sex is steamy hot.

"I've decided not to give up, to fight for him."

Their relationship looks like it's on the right track to turn into something serious. I loved how well Grace got along with his family. I enjoyed her friendship with Jonathan's sister, Sarah. Grace can't seem to figure out the mixed signals Jonathan is giving her, but doesn't want to give up on them. However, her finals are in just a few weeks and they require her to go back to Chicago. That topped with the fact that she told him she loved him and he didn't say it back leave her questioning where they stand. Can their relationship survive or will they go their separate ways?

I have to say that I was very satisfied with the ending. I know there is a third book in this series and I can't wait to read it, but if the story were to end here I would be okay with that. I am hoping to see more of Sarah and Alex in the next book. Sarah's so feisty and knows what she wants or I should say who she wants, Alex, but she can't get him to admit his feelings even though it's obvious. So she takes her destiny into her own hands and makes things happen. Luckily it was just the thing that Alex needed.

Actual ratings=2.5 stars

Yes my ratings went up .5 stars since the first book. Mostly because this was much more tolerable than the first one. Here Grace doesn't act all innocent when she's actually not. I don't know why I'm the only one who sees the huuuuuge similarities between this and fifty shades. This is pretty much a milder version of it. Everything is so similar!!!!!! It's just too much.

Anyway the development was a bit poor for me. Story line was better the characters were much more fun. The best part of the story was and the sad part . Well that will be all for my reviews in this story considering I didn't manage to get ahold of the other books and I'm not that keen enough to buy it from somewhere (most probably I won't find it in Sri Lanka, as usual). I'm not feeling that excited to write a proper review so yeah that's it.

Happy reading folks!!!

Netgalley for an honest review.

3.5

This book was a little better then the first in that the characters seem to have more layers and better developed. We find out more about Jonathan and who he is. Grace seems to assert herself more and become more outspoken.

We begin where we left off from the first book. It's where Grace sees and experiences a sexual side of Jonathan that she doesn't like. There is a confrontation that allows both to come to an understand and a compromise is made. Grace then tries to get Jonathan to open up and would like a real relationship. We then watch the back and forth of these two as they each are struggling with what they each want or are willing to give to each other.

Better pacing and more investing what happens.

***Minor spoilers & spoilers for book one***

In this book we start right where we left off outside of the club after leaving. After Jonathan and Yuuto follow Grace outside of the club, the two men get into a fight over Grace and how she supposedly tricked him into being with her. After fighting for her, Jonathan tells Grace that he is ready for an exclusive relationship, and is not willing to give her up. The couple become closer, but throughout the book we are exposed to Jonathan's areas of difficulty where he refuses to admit how he feels, which could be a deal breaker for Grace. She loves Jonathan, but does she really want to be in a relationship where her partner can't even admit how he feels about her.

It's been a few months since I read the first book, but I was able to remember what happened just fine. Grace and Jonathan's relationship is pretty stereotypical. There is a boy who first appears cold, then proves he isn't, but they shows that he locks up his emotions and won't let them show. Then there is the girl who comes to love him and then tries to bring those emotions out to no avail. Like I said, quite a stereotypical relationship. A lot of the time in this book I wanted to hit either of the characters, or both at the same time, which his why I rated this lower than I would've otherwise. I wanted to hit Jonathan because he wouldn't admit what he was already showing, and he was so stubborn he wouldn't listen to others. I wanted to hit Grace because she stayed in a relationship where she didn't feel appreciated in a situation that wasn't sexual. It seemed pretty unhealthy to me!

Other than that, there isn't too much to say about this book, because it is your typical closed-off man romance. The plot was quite predictable, and you can definitely tell what's going to happen far before it happens, besides a few minor things which aren't related to Jonathan and Grace. The ending was the type of ending you could see from a mile away, but was still satisfying to read. Knowing the nature of their relationship, try to guess how the book ended. I'm sure you'll get it right. If you want to know if your guess was right, here it is:

Overall, this was decent but I think it would've been better if Jonathan and Grace's relationship was portrayed as healthier. It bothered me that whenever Grace wanted to confront Jonathan about the way he was acting towards her, if he so much as kissed her, she forgot about it. Have some resolve! I do have to say that I enjoyed the first book better than this one, because she seemed like a more willing partner in the relationship. I would only recommend this book to you if you enjoy the stereotypical "emotionless," can't show love romances.

This book picks up with Grace, Jonathan, and Yuuto at the club. Yes there was a cliffhanger at the end of Unbound - Colours of Love but since there is a book 2 you know that Grace and Jonathan are together. That being said, Jonathan insists that he isn't one for settling for one woman but he would try for Grace. He did try, really he did, but it seems like every obstacle that could be put in their way was. While Jonathan annoyed me plenty of times I loved his sister Sarah. Sarah was finally released from the hospital so there was more interaction with her and Grace. Grace seemed a bit stronger in this book, I think she was fed up with the way Yuuto was trying to control everything. I wish I could say it was easy sailing for Grace and Jonathan being together but it was anything but. I don't want to give any spoilers but I will say that Grace goes on two trips, one to Ireland and then one to Chicago.
Kathryn Taylor has a way of keeping you on the hook and wanting more from the story, so while this book didn't end with a huge cliffhanger, I was left wanting to see what would happen next with Grace and Jonathan as well as Sarah and Alexander. I hope that Unleashed will answer all of my questions.

Uncovered is book two in the Colours of Love trilogy, following on from Unbound which I really enjoyed reading a few months ago. The ending of Unbound left me hanging and eager to read more so I couldn’t resist my copy of Uncovered for long. But I’m left feeling not entirely sure it was worth the wait. I did like Uncovered, it was a good continuation of the first book but I really think the author could have made this book so much more. It seemed to pale in comparison to the first book and at times it almost felt like it was written by a different author because the things I loved about Unbound were the things that didn’t really work for me in Uncovered. This was an entertaining enough instalment and I’m interested to see how it ends – but I did expect a little more.

The events from the previous book led up to a cliffhanger ending so I was wondering where things were going to be taken at the beginning of this book. Things are pretty tense between Grace and Jonathan and I loved the dramatic start which drew me in. I was rooting and cheering for Jonathan here as he stood up for Grace – dare I say his mean and brooding persona was showing a bit of a softer side? There were dramatic parts spread all throughout Uncovered which livened up the story and brought out a different side to the characters. Grace felt different to the naïve and awkward woman we met in book one. She seemed more confident and capable though I’m not sure I liked this side to her that much since she could become a bit condescending and whiney. I had mixed feelings on Grace but with Jonathan, I grew to like him more as we get to see a more open side to his character. He’s still cut-off and afraid to express his feelings about anyone and anything, but there are glimpses of the heart he’s keeping hidden inside.

One of my favourite parts about this series is the exploration of Jonathan’s family. Though I would have liked to have seen it developed even further, I did like seeing more of the family dynamics and Jonathan’s relationships with his sister and his father, not to mention his feelings towards his mother who died when he was a child, were interesting and intriguing. Sarah has her own little story going on in this trilogy which feels a bit rushed, but I do like her character. She’s worthy of her own spin-off novel I reckon.

Unbound had a few sex scenes, all well written, which were sexy and steamy and all of those things. What I loved more was how they were part of the story, rather than taking over the story. If I’m honest, I found that to be very different in Uncovered. Other than the family drama, this book just seemed to go nowhere. Some bits were just bland and then were filled with sex scenes which didn’t contribute anything except adding some content to a story which needed fleshing out a lot more. It wasn’t that the author had run out of ideas, she started plenty of different strands to this story which could easily have built the book up, but she didn’t develop them. They ended before they really got started. I had so many questions stemming from the first book or from what we discovered in this book. But the author seemed in a rush to answer those questions and to close off those parts of the book so then there was nothing left but to add in a sex scene or six. Which maybe wouldn’t have been that bad if the sex scenes were well written, like in Unbound, but instead I just cringed my way through them. Some of the language used felt like I was back at school sat in a sex education lesson, not reading a book.

I do have a few niggles with Uncovered as I’ve mentioned above but actually, I really did like this book. It’s tense and erotic yet heart-felt and touching. It was pretty suspenseful as we wait to see what will happen between Grace and Jonathan. Has Grace been pushed too far? Will Jonathan open his heart to her? I wasn’t expecting the ending in this book – it felt more complete than I would have expected from a second book in a trilogy. If I didn’t know it was a trilogy, I wouldn’t have assumed there’d be another book on the way. But I’m looking forward to reading it. Also, just like in Unbound, this book got better as it went on. The last 20% or so I really loved, as things between Grace and Jonathan reached the most emotional level. Both characters have come a long way since the first book, though they’ve almost gone in opposite directions, and the way the author develops them as characters is a real highlight. They’re multi-layered and complex, each with interesting stories to tell and I am rooting for things to work out well between them – however likely or unlikely that may be. Bring on the next book...

I was kind of let down by this squeal. There just seemed like something missing. I had more questions then answers. The characters in the first book seemed more in depth and you could really relate to them. By midway through this one I just couldn't figure out they both were so one dimensional. The characters didn't seem to grow or change even though they said they did. It just felt flat and not true.

The sex as hot as always. Wow Grace and Jonathan sure know how to light it up with each other! I can truly say they get you hot and bothered during the read!

I was very disappointed with the reasons behind Jonathan being so standoffish and unfeeling. I understand the guilt part but I was waiting for that connection to Yuuto. I always felt that Yuuto had sinister plans and helped bring Jonathan to the unfeeling person he became, but that never came to fruition. This was never truly explained. Nothing explained Yuuto's rash behavior at the club and why he was so upset. There has to be a connection or a reason and it never was brought out, even with Jonathan's father's connections to Yuuto's family. That was so underdeveloped and not there.

I was also disappointed in how Jonathan just changed. It was never explained where he went while Grace was in America, he just pops back in and wham a changed man.

The story was good, but not as good as the first. I would love to hear Sarah and Alex's story!

Good read but a let down after the first.

In Uncovered, we start the morning after Unbound - Colours of Love left off and wade into the relationship of Grace and Jonathan. The title of the sequel is very fitting as we start to peel back the layers that make up Jonathan. Of course, the drama comes with it as well. The family drama, the other woman drama and the almighty "I Love you" drama. There's always relationship drama, but nothing these two can't work through. Or can they?

This second book in the Colours of Love Trilogy was just as good. Still a few grammar errors, but not as many as the first book. I love how the relationship progressed throughout the book because this helped us to understand Jonathan's family drama a lot better.

This story continues seamlessly from the previous book, Unbound, and what a brilliant moment it is. It is electric outside of The Club and sparks fly in more ways than one, a pivotal moment that is pure magic.
Kathryn Taylor continues to conjour erotic and sensual attraction between Grace and Jonathan. They simply cannot keep their hands off each other but to be honest it became secondary to me. I was totally engrossed in the actual romance of it all. I thought that the story was so very touching about Jonathan.
The erotic scenes between Jonathan and Grace are very explicit and detailed. The first book, Unbound, should be read before this book. I am now looking forward to reading the final book in the series.
I wish to thank Netgalley and Bastei Entertainment for allowing me to read and review this book.

This one was ok... 3.5 stars maybe. I wanted more from this and I didn't get it. I won't be reading the 3rd book ( really a novella) I am fine with how it all panned out and I have a hunch about what the big issue will be next for these two and I am not interested in going that route. The story was good, the heat was AMAZING, just something fell flat with this one.

**I would like to thank Netgalley, Bastei Entertainment and the author Kathryn Taylor for a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion**

Uncovered is the sequel in the Colours of Love series. It starts off right where Unbound - Colours of Love ended. That's when you see Jonathan start to change in the way he saw and felt for Grace.

Let's just say that Jonathan and Grace didn't really have such a great relationship in Unbound. He didn't want one, so she savored what ever she could get from him. Jon started realizing that he didn't want to lose Grace so he was now going to play by her rules meaning they'll actually be a couple in a relationship. I think that scared Jon a bit but he was not willing to let Grace go.

There were times when Jon was cute and surprising but many times he was an ass if you ask me. He was willing to be in a relationship with Grace but he wasn't really that romantic, he was just serious most of the time, he knew what he wanted but didn't think about Grace in his future. It just felt like Jon from Unbound not Jon in a relationship. And in the Manor he didn't even want to introduce Grace as his girlfriend, what's up with that and he avoids her at the charity, he says he was hosting, uh that seemed very cold to me.

Grace in the other hand was trying to figure things out with Jon while keeping her job. Many co-workers were surprised that she actually was good at her job and knew what she was doing, they just assumed that she got special treatment for being the boss's girlfriend, okay she does get special treatment but we do see her doing projects and managing them. Jon and Alex trust her with their business. She doesn't know where she stands with Jon sometimes. He is cute and cuddly sometimes and then cold and distant most of the time and that confuses her, I get confused. But she doesn't want to give up on him.

I liked that we get to know what happened to Jons mom. I think it's always touchy when she is brought up cus you can see that Jon and his dad really miss her and its sad. We learn why Jon is the way he is. We also learn more about his dad the Earl. He isn't how Jon describes him, he just doesn't get along with his dad. There's more to him that Jon doesn't want anything to do with, while Grace is more open and understanding with him. We see how dad is connected to Yuuto. And we get to hear more about Sarah and Alex.

There were things that I didn't like. Every time Grace and Jon were arguing or in a fight, she would ask him something and he basically would shut her up by kissing her, making out and sleeping with her. She never got her answers and nothing was resolved, they would just go in circles, and she will still not know how he really feels about her. For example that part where Jon doesn't talk to her for like three days, leaves for one day, doesn't let her know he's back, she knows he is, but the second he appears and kisses her she forgets she's angry with him, all he needs to do is kiss her and she forgets everything. I think he says he wanted to see if he could be without her, soooo was he trying to brake up with her? Not cool. Oh and right after that they sleep together and he's supposedly describing why he likes her and wants to be with her, he basically describes her body, what he likes to do and stuff, nothing about who she is, her personality, nothing, and Grace is all happy saying "he loves me, I know he does :-) " I'm like girl when did he say that you're amazing and a hard worker and smart. Where!!! He could do no wrong in Graces eyes. Well that was my rant.

Overall I did enjoy reading Uncovered. The ending was cute. I would've loved it if Grace let Jon sweat it out a bit. She could've been like "nope, not interested, you let me go". I do want them together but I think it would've been great if this time she was the one who was a bit colder, just a little bit. Make him work for your forgiveness girl. We get to see him nervous, cute :-) I liked how it ended, I would've liked Jon to have been more romantic through out the book just like he was at the end. I think I would've liked him more.

In Uncovered there was action, fight scenes, a shooting, questions were answered and more action but of the other kind, the more adult kind ;-) Great book

Titel: Colours of Love - Entblößt
Originaltitel: Uncovered
Autor: Kathryn Taylor
Seitenanzahl: 335
Teil: 2/4
Genre: Liebesroman|Erotischer Roman

#2 in the Colours of Love romance series

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Grace continues to work at Huntington Ventures, becoming more successful and confident in her job. Her relationship with Jonathan also shows signs of more intimacy now and then, but she's still struggling to get Jonathan to admit to his strong feelings for her. Most of this book is about their growing personal relationship and how they both deal with it, uncovering a few family secrets along the way. We see the story through Grace's eyes. She began this series as an innocent and naïve girl , but she's actually quite strong and determined, and we see signs of that in this book. She's an interesting mix of soft and hard, sweet and cunning. Jonathan, on the other hand, is all hard lines and untouchable walls, very intriguing. This series continues to surprise me with how much I'm interested in it. I've become engaged with the characters, although Grace's dramatics bother me with her over-the-top adoration for Jonathan. If you're looking for action (other than in the bedroom), this book is not for you It was fairly uneventful, although there were a couple of family revelations that helped move the story forward. I will continue with this series to see what happens.

Jonathan and Grace’s story continues. They’ve got something real special but of course, things can’t just be diamonds and roses.
In a way, this book was better than the first one. The relationship that is in the center of everything grows stronger and even though stuff happens there is still a connection between the couple. This book also made me feel more things than the first book. For example, at one point I was reading the book way longer than I was suppose to because I just had to know what was going to happen. Also, this book was a bit more of romance book than erotica and in a way, I liked that a lot. Plus I’m super duper happy about the ending.
