The Italian's Bedroom Deal

Rate this book
Hunky and oh-so-alpha billionaire Maximilian Diantes has been propositioned many times but not by the woman who should more appropriately be saying “yes” only to a marriage proposal – preferably his. But Clarissa Montgomery isn’t like the women who pursue him with relentless persistence. She only wants something he’s not willing to give her – a casual affair. He’ll stop at nothing to get Clarissa to agree to become his wife, including using the red-hot attraction the two of them feel for each other.

USA Today™ best-selling author Elizabeth Lennox writes contemporary romance novels featuring sheiks, business tycoons, royalty, and other sexy rich men. Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth’s female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. They are strong, intelligent and independent, while still feminine and caring.

Although she wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over eighty books and sold over 5.1 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 8 million times since 2013.

Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.

This book seems like a romance, at first. Well, not quite. I 'd call it "a lecture on morality with (fake)romantic elements"
The thing is, I absolutely loathe any lecture on morality.
The book involves a 25-years-old virgin, more than eager to get sexual experience.Good for her, I'd say.
And, for her purpose she chooses a man known for his countless ex-mistresses. Nice choice. But! The man is too conservative (and sexist) and decides(!) that she's only allowed to have sex once she gets married. Really??? Since when a man has the right to tell a woman, not related to him, what to do with her life?
To complete the silliness, the father of the heroine is almost a stranger in his daughter's life, since he knows practically nothing about it. And as a medieval lord, in his will, ignores his only child and leaves all of his fortune to the hero, even before he marries the heroine. And, he's considered a good father! Again, really???
All I know, romance and moral lectures are a terrible mix, simply awful.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Clarissa Montgomery was tired of hearing her friends talk about their husbands and their sex life. Clarissa wanted to know what all the fuss was about, but she didn't want to get married ever so she decided to ask Maximillian Diantes to help her out. Max thought that Clarissa being a beautiful woman was a wife material not for a one night stand, so when Clarissa asked Max he became really upset with her and refused to help her. Clarissa decided to go on a trip to Italy to look for someone to help her out, but Max finds out and shows up and she is shocked to see him there. Max never leaves her out of his site so she comes home angry, but then Max invites her to dinner and askes her to marry him, but she turns him down and explains her reasons which makes Max angry. Max takes Clarissa to the ballet to dinners and even a long weekend to Sicily, but after every night he kisses her and leaves her feeling frustrated. One night after dinner Clarissa couldn't take anymore of his teasing so she finally said yes. Now that she lives in Max's penthouse he would work from home more often, but one day while he was on a business trip he received an enveloped that is from her dad's company. When she read the documents she realised her worst nightmare about her marriage to Max.

What a great read! Clarissa wants to be normal but has several road blocks. Max is a wealthy alpha suddenly caught by a beautiful woman. An agreement is reached but anxiety and fear tear cracks. Love conquers all.

Story held my attention. Max was strong and very much in love with 25 yr. old virgin Clarissa. He didn't want to marry for another two years. She didn't want to marry at all. She wanted to lose her virginity to Max and learn from his sexual prowess. Max did not want her to be with anyone else. After he turned her sexual invitation down, she fled to Italy to find a lover. Max followed and showed her all the sites and did not take advantage of her much to her chagrin.
Clarissa's mom died during childbirth and her father could not run a company, deal with losing his wife, and every time he looked at his infant daughter he saw his deceased wife. He employed a nanny to take care of his daughter. He didn't even know what she did for a living until Max explained it to him. I am not going to tell you how or if they got together.
I like HEA this book delivered. However, it did not wrap up all. I still wanted to know if Clarissa's father ever made amends and what happened to his company, estate, etc.,

What does a happy ever ending entail for me to give 5 STARS: The author must wrap up everything and that means the important characters whom played a part in bringing the couple together or a part. A story should not leave the reader with questions regarding any relationship in the book.

Very bad attempt at "a virgin who is curious about passion and sensual pleasures choosing the most famous play boy to teach her".

So the MC is a 25 yr old virgin who wants to loose the status and thus chooses a guy labelled playboy and who uses women as he wishes. But of course he refuses as our MC is made for "marriage" and not to be played with. Then he bloody follows her to her vacation in Rome and does not let her flirt with any guy and monopolizes all of her time there.

Further upon return he proposes her and keeps on touching and kissing her; promising her the passion she seeks when they get married! He makes all the choices for her and forces his decisions on her.

Double standards!

If anyone wants to read a book with similar contents then One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean is a wonderful choice. Go read that.

Not my favourite one. Was a bit slow in any real story starting.
