I think I'm losing my mind. The alternative would be I'm seeing ghosts. If I'm going crazy, I should check myself into a nuthouse as soon as possible. But if I'm not... if she's really a ghost, listening to her could mean the difference between life and death.

I was born and raised in Wichita Kansas. I love writing, reading, my beautiful baby girl and my hubby. I like to listen to Rock and Roll old or new and read just about anything YA although I'm still working on getting into the paranormal.

When I am writing I just can't wait to see whats going to happen next! If you do not like my characters do not blame me, blame them! They have a mind of their own! Known for the roller coaster ride I take readers on! Happy Reading!

This is a very short story about a boy named Miles who lost his sister and mother to a car accident. After his breakup with his girlfriend, Miles starts seeing his sister and she is sending him a message. He’s not sure if he’s going crazy or not. She’s telling him to find a boy named Liam to save his life from murder. He’s never been a friend to this boy and isn’t sure if he should follow thru or if it is just his imagination. This was a sweet story by Ms. Kurth.

I really enjoyed what the author did with this story. It was short, simple, yet kept me questioning the main character's sanity the entire time.

Kurth's main character, Miles, is being followed around by the ghost of his dead younger sister. But he goes through the story debating whether or not she is real or a symptom of the combination of dealing with the stress of a recent breakup and the dead of his mother and sister a year earlier.
I spent most of the time reading trying to figure out the reality of the story along with Miles, but that's not all. There is someone's life at stake. Should Miles listen to the pleading of his sister's joke, get himself some professional help, or blow it all off in hopes that it'll go away? Well I can't tell you what he should do. You need to read the story. But I also can't tell you because, I'm still going over it all in my mind.

I really enjoyed the twist in this story as well. I definitely wasn't expecting the story to go in the direction it did. I'm always a fan of surprises though.

Slipping by Shandy Kurth
Miles had lost his mother and sister in a car crash. He had just got dumped from Jordan his girlfriend. He couldn't wait to graduate and
leave this town for good. He lived with his father and had some friends but he had a recurring dream. His sister was almost real, led him to
a place behind town and told him to remember one time there. She mentioned a murder and he was trying hard to piece it all together.
Rayla keeps appearing during the time he's awake and while he's trying to figure it all out she's asking him to find Liam. He has no clue why though.
Things just don't add up and he's got an essay to pass in that he's not completed.
Interesting thing about this book is the main character is a guy, not a typical teen female so hearing from that point of view is interesting, as to what happens during events that set him off, etc.
Never suspected what really happened but like the way Miles handled it. Really like where this book takes you and how the title comes about.

Miles is down about his recent breakup with longtime girlfriend, Jordan. He also lost his mother and beloved younger sister, Rayla, in a car accident a year ago. It's no wonder he's having nightmares, or is that really why? When Rayla starts showing up and talking to Miles, he thinks he's going crazy. She has a message for him, someone is going to die unless he saves them. Miles brushes it off over and over again. He is torn between hoping Rayla will leave him alone and hoping Rayla will stay. When Miles finally decides to do listen to Rayla, it may be too late. This is cool story because it makes you wonder if Miles is really seeing his sister or if it's his subconscious causing the issues. You feel his pain at the loss of his family and his girlfriend, and on top of that wondering if he's nuts. As if being a teenager isn't hard enough all by itself. This book has a really nice ending, I like when the author lets you know what happened to characters that you read about and got attached to. Definitely worth the read and is appropriate for teens through adults.

Given To Me For An Honest Review

This book is a great short story but would make a fantastic novel. It is about a boy who has lost his mother and sister to a car accident. He begins to see his sister's ghost who keeps telling him to go and save Liam. He can't figure out whay she means. The story is so good. The ending is even better. You will not go wrong in reading this short story and who knows maybe one day Shandy Kurth may extend it into a longer book. I gave it 5 stars but wish it could be more. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I loved this story. I read it while Shandy was posting it in installments on Wattpad, and I kept bugging her about when the next part would be available! For being a short story, you really get pulled in by the characters (but Shandy's awesome at doing that!). The ending is really good; I definitely didn't see it coming, but I thought it was a great way to go. I hope she writes more short stories, as they're just as good as her novels, and she can get them out to us faster! ;)

When Miles gets dumped by Jordan, he starts to see the ghost of his sister Rayla. Rayla tells him he needs to stop a murder. Rayla won't leave him alone no matter how many times he's asked. Miles believes he is either having a mental break down or he is actually seeing his dead sister.

I too believed Miles was seeing Rayla. I found the characters well well developed and believable for a short story.

Although I am not a big fan of young adult books, I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Slipping is a well-written, properly edited, quick and enjoyable read. Shandy Kurth makes you feel every motion that the characters are going through... frustration, jealously, angst, regret, healing and finally the chance to move on.

I really enjoyed the story, it was unpredictable, well written, and very belivable, in spite of the fact that it involved ghosts. In the end you just never know if the character was imagining stuff or wasn't. Very recomendable.

I enjoyed this short story. We are thrown into Miles life and we don't know if he is going crazy or not. His mother and sister died in a car accident and he starts seeing his sister. I couldn't put it down. I would have liked the story to be longer.
