James is the author of THE MAZE RUNNER trilogy and THE 13TH REALITY series. He also published a series (beginning with A DOOR IN THE WOODS) with a small publisher several years ago. He lives and writes in the Rocky Mountains.
Phenomenal series!! Re read it again this year and have every year since I was 12. One of my favourite book series and will forever live in my heart. Fantastic novels and amazing writing. I fall in love with the characters every time I read it. I laugh, I cry, I hug the books and throw them across the room. Amazing books.
I absolutely love all the fantastic stories. I've watched the movie series. The thriller, the emotional stories, and the story itself have made me love all series of the maze runner. People said that there are lots of changes made between the book and the movie. So, I tried reading the first book, but it seemed a bit boring since I already knew all the stories including the ending. Therefore, I decided that I stop reading it. I recommend this book but I do not recommend reading the book and watching the movie.
This is one of those books my dad had been begging me to read since forever, and I'd ignored him. Then , in 2023 him, my sister I watched the film. Immediately, I fell in love with the world Dashner had created, and I yearned to know more.
So naturally, I read the book. It was extremely different from the film but SO much better, the details of the story really made me feel like I was apart of it, and Dashner's writing style controlled me, making me hate characters and love others.
Despite the fact I knew so little about them, as they knew so little about themselves, he still made me deeply resonate with the characters. He made the story realistic, and I could really understand his vision .
I couldn't put this book down. Great for older kids who enjoy Sci- fi that can get a little bit scary. Highly recommend.
Rereading the first 3 to understand the other 2. It's been a while but I'm still in love with that story! The characters are well written. If you haven't read it by now, do it! (if you like this genre)
these are so enjoyable to read, even though there are five books the story doesn't get boring at any point as they are all so different. the characters are so well written that when the movie was released they were exactly how i imagined them!
This series is literally my favourite like damn it's soo good and each chapter and book is a page turner. Such a wonderful story and it has soo many plot twists like I literally had to put it down for a while and breathe. If you're thinking to read it tHEN GO FOR IT!
One of the best Books I have ever read. The writing was amazing and the feelings were almost real. It was an experience that made me feel as if I was with them in the world.!!❤️
Reread it again after years and absolutely loved it. The movies don't do it justice. Loved the original trilogy. And the kill order was actiony, sad and great.
Overall, great quality! James wrote very well and it was very enjoyable. It felt like I was right in the book, part of the action. My favourite character dies which was heartbreaking but it was still amazing!

The first three books were good. They followed the same characters… but then people died and suddenly we were back in time with the fourth and fifth books. The last two were necessary to the plot, but kind of a drag
