About the author
Pattathuvila Karunakaran
10 booksHe was born on 31 July 1925 in Quilon district in Kerala. 'Pattahthuvila' is his family name.He had his schooling at Craven School, Quilon and after graduation from Presidency College Madras.
After working as journalist in the Kerala Kaumudi he went to USA to study business administaration.
After studies he joined the Calicut branch of Pierse Leslie India Ltd and settled down in Calicut, where he spent the rest of his life as part of the celebrated 'Kozhikode Cultural Circle'.
In 1972 he was given Kerala Sahitya Academy award for his collection Muni .
Though he could never fulfill his campus-day dream to study film making he was able to leave an indelible mark in the history of Malayalam cinema by producing the pathbreaking film Uttarayanam in 1974 which won several state and national awards.

These are stories mainly with some political insight and if you have not read Pattathuvila , it will be a good one to start with.
