A sweet little Christmas story set in the 60ies. The Camera is about young couple Gary and Fiona who are having trouble making ends meet. Gary was recently laid off work and is doing odd jobs and Fiona is at home with their baby. The young mother is lonely because she hardly sees Gary anymore. And she fears that when she gives him his Christmas present - the one she saved up for all year - she will see him even less. But it wouldn't be a Christmas story if Gary didn't have a little miracle (or maybe not so little... ;-) to give to his wife.

m/f explicit
Themes: Christmas is the 60ies, a knock-off Mary Quant, very British, not much to say about it really... it was short but sweet, horny housewife, Vanessa De Sade always makes it into something worth reading.

I'm not really sure what to make of CHRISTMAS CRACKER. NTM author so I decided to give it a try. Entertaining tale, written well enough, of a frustrated wife whose family is going through some tough times. She's trying to make the best of things but can't help feeling a bit sorry for herself as she wraps Christmas gifts. I won't ruin the ending by saying anything more.

However, several things about CHRISTMAS CRACKER bothered me. "Christmas Cracker" is not the title of the story; it's actually "The Camera". (And if you look at the title page, it's not "The Poison Pixie" either.) Also, the blurb is a bit of a tease because the flashback to "their first time two years ago" is of their first sexual "playing", not actual intercourse. More importantly, the actual story is only 8 pages (ended at 27%). The remainder of the noted 30 pages is a list of the author's other works with some excerpts.

So yeah, I wasn't expecting much for 30 pages but reaching the end after only 8 felt like hitting a mental brick wall. Not a good way to feel after reading something.

I'm not sure what I was expecting. Maybe more steam. But this was still a very sweet story of a frustrated newlywed (relatively speaking -- I've been married 18 years, lol) looking back on her first time with her husband two years prior. They've hit a spate of bad luck and he's working whatever job he can to support his wife and daughter, but that means she doesn't see him often. And she's lonely. But they're still madly in love, which is sweet.

short read about a young couple who's lives haven't turned out quite the way they planned after two years of marriage. I wasn't exactly fond of fiona because she seemed like a bit of brat. But, things turned out for the best for them--A Christmas Miracle I guess. LOL

This was just kinda ok for me. I wanted more there so that I would feel like fiona wasn't just a brat who was never satisfied.
