A routine job for Stewart Lorimer quickly escalates into a harrowing nightmare after he is led into a menacing trap. Then he finds his business partner has been murdered. He flees to his childhood home where he attempts to find a solution to his mounting crisis. A letter left behind with his business associate's will leads Stewart to contact a hitherto unknown ally. This ally agrees to give him limited help, in exchange for his support in another matter. Fearing death at any moment by an unknown assailant's hand, hunted by the police as the prime suspect in his bussiness associate's murder, Stewart is led by his enemy to a group of strangers in a similar plight. But if Stewart thought for one moment this would resolve his problems, he is mistaken; his problems have only just begun, and the stakes could not be higher -- his life and the lives of those he cares for.
