Captain Mikayla Jones was a flight instructor up at Sky Master II. She is getting ready for her class Monday when four men come in and tell her something has happened to Daniel. It is their anniversary; he was contracted out to a cloning lab and the lab was blown up that morning. Daniel was dead. Her husband was dead.
Ten years later, Mikayla is a Colonel. They use clones to fight in space wars. They are all possessions of the military. This how she finds out they cloned Daniel and have sent his clone to her to train. She will have to train a man who looks, acts, and loves like her dead husband, and then send him off to die, but how can she?
Made for Her by Jessica E. Subject is a really interesting read. This has some really deep issues in this book, for one what makes you uniquely human? Is it being born human? Are clones humans or are they property? I found that question not really answered but I like where it was going. Mikayla feels they are humans, at least the one who looks like her dead husband. I cannot imagine having to train someone who looks like the love of your life to go off and die but that is the task she has at hand. This is a great story with some deeper meanings thrown in and a very memorable read.

Her husband is killed. Then she finds out he was cloned--and one of the clones shows up at her flight school. Awesome, awesome concept. Also had a couple of plot twists I never saw coming.

Review: Another easy, sexy read. It was full
of unexpected twists and turns that had me waiting
to see what the author would do with the characters next.
I love that Mikayla is a strong women who stands up to her
superiors when she feels that they are wrong. She is a
great character with lots of emotion and strength.

The future is different yet the same. Earth seems to have united in a common defense against aliens, and agreed to use high tech and clones to work the plan. For all its advances, society still has prejudice, manipulation, violence, and outright jerks.
Colonel Mikayla Jones lost her husband to some of those societal failings. After seeming to regain him in the form of Dare, a clone, she had to stand up against more of those failings.
The good? I liked the premise of the story. The tech and SF were interesting. The Romance was believable. It was well-written, and proofed well enough I only saw one typo. (Telescope for microscope.) I liked Mikayla, the heroine. And I liked the General and his wife. There were very explicit sex scenes. I know there are those who will like them and they were well-written.
The not-so-good? I never really connected with Dare. The story was short and I wished it had been longer. Maybe I'd have gotten to like him better over time. The ending was a bit abrupt. But, while I would love to read what happened on the mission, I realize that the focus of this story was the Romance and for that the mission itself didn't matter. The Romance had already reached a natural conclusion.
Altogether a good, fast read.

I typically don’t read futuristic nor science-fiction but, this short novella had two things in it favor - (1) a 4-star review of previous work, Accidental Romance and (2) the blurb was extremely captivating. The entire thing was cohesive; the characters, dialogue, and setting were natural and well paced.
Very glad I went with my initial instinct I read it…Highly Recommended!

Colonel Mikayla Jones is tasked to train squadrons of clones her late husband Daniel created. despite keeping herself and her mind occupied with work, she still cannot help but grieve over the loss of her husband. when she meets Dare, a new student and Daniel's look-a-like, Mikayla's world is shattered and her emotions go on a roller coaster ride. the fact remains: it is forbidden for clones and humans to engage in any intimate relationships.
i enjoyed this sensual sci-fi fantasy romance on so many levels. first, it was well-written and flowed smoothly from one scene to the next. the worldbuilding was done just right and there was no hardcore sci-fi stuff to confound readers thus making the story readable and comprehensible from start to finish.
i also love strong female protagonists and Mikayla was no exception. true, she had her vulnerable side and flaws but those only made her more endearing. Daniel's clone, Dare was a striking character as well - handsome, virile and out to prove that clones are humans too!
the best thing about the whole book though was the twist i never saw coming. i could not help but smile when i realized its implications on Mikayla and Dare. moreover, i finally understood - as the title indicates - why Dare was made for Mikayla.
overall, Made for Her was such a pleasurable and engaging read including the bonus story at the end. author Jessica E. Subject sure knows how to spin a tale with a heart and i include this one among the stories that would stay with me for a long time.

What I did like:
I'm a huge fan of the idea of cloning, and of Jessica's previous works in general. Being faced with a clone of your lost love sets up great potential for emotional and ethical conflict. There's also a brilliant plot twist that was a tear-jerker, and had me physically reeling - I really hadn't expected it. The ending will leave you reaching for a hanky and hoping for a sequel.
What I didn't like:
For me, this focused a little too much on the sex rather than the emotions behind it and the inner conflict of the main characters. For all his claim of wanting to be the best, Dare seemed more set on getting into Jones's panties, and for all her 'I shouldn't', she didn't put up as much resistance as I would expect. I felt it could have been deeper and been explored more. It wasn't as heart wrenching as some of her previous works, and I would have liked to know much more about this near future world, and the cloning process.
In conclusion:
Fans of military-based scifi romances and erotica will enjoy this. For me it lacked some emotional depth, and I prefer my scifi more offworld, although I loved the cloning aspect and the big twist. While this particular story may have missed the mark for me a touch, I'm still a huge fan of J Subject's writing and will be back for more.

Sci-fi romance novella
The future has many possibilities and the author has called upon cloning and space travel to write her story. Makayla lost her husband who created cloning and years later is asked to train a set of clones, including one of her late husband. It's too much for her, yet she can't help but want to explore what he is asking for.
Fate knows she probably only sees her late husband, but he's fine with that. He just needs to show her that only in looks are they the same. it's wrong because he's a clone and he's lower rank. But he's willing to risk the consequences.
This novella is different than some of the ski-fi romances I've read. Cloning is hardly ever mentioned and I love that the author tapped in on this future possibility. Cloning and space travel are still new to us but she turned this into a romance of a different nature. Making clones that are the same in looks but different in everything else is intriguing. Having a clone to fall in love and a human reciprocate even more intriguing. Then throwing in a few twists gave this story a big impact with its shorter length. I liked the characters and story line and rooted for them even when odds were stacked against them. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I loved the premise of this story. A Military trainer gets a new squad to train, and suddenly her deceased husband stands before her eyes, waiting to be trained to be the best. Her husband had been cloned, and she was expected to train him.
I think that the author did a wonderful job of writing the emotions as anyone in her position would feel them. I was thoroughly enjoying it, thought I knew how it would wrap up, and then, wham-mo! What a plot twist. Get ready for it.
There is explicit sex in the story. And the book is a fast read. That worked well for me because I didn't want to put it down once I started reading it.

I'd seen snippets of this book on Six Sentence Sunday and they drew me in. But when I read it in its entirety, the story felt unfinished, like the skeleton was there but it hadn't been completely filled out. I still liked it and I loved the premise and the twist Ms. Subject threw in near the end. That was very cool. It's a quick, light read.

WOW. So much more than I hoped for.
I picked up this sci-fi novella on a whim, hoping for a quick, light and fun read, and got so much more than I hoped for. Thoughtful world building, and interesting characters fill this story, and keep it moving.

Not too bad!!!
This was a quite different story than I expected it to bad. Gave you a couple good twists and turns to keep you on your toes. Very good romance not something too pass by!!

So bad... no storyline. Rubbish shallow characters. Couldnt even finish it which says alot for me. I always finish books no matter how bad.

I couldnt bring myself to like this book
