I adored this couple. Suro was stoic, dangerous, silent and Tasha, bubbly, talkative an overall sweet person. They were completely opposite in personality yet so attracted to each other. It was clear from the beginning itself how smitten Suro was. This is the first time I’m reading a love story between African American and a Japanese!
This story was interesting and had suspense, depth, passion and emotion. I loved they way hero bulldozed through heroine’s life. He was alpha through and through. Kids added a nice diversion to the story. And fantastic epilogue.
Recommended.

Another job well done by Ms. Taylor. It has steamy love scenes, funny kids, and just the right amount of danger in it!
The H is sinister and sweet all at the same time! I could totally relate to Lacey's talkative diatribes; because I talk a lot myself! LOL
As a teacher, who has had experience with special needs students, I completely loved the fact that Kenji and Sparkle were portrayed so true to life! They were such sweethearts and hilarious! ;-)

Rating: 3 1/2 stars

A sexy, edgy tale featuring two extremely unlikely people. There's sad times, loads of humor and enough sex to warm the coldest libido. Two plot moppets, nasty and nice supporting characters, secrets and seedy settings make an OTT plot work out. I enjoyed reading this even when Lacey/Tasha was being stubborn and stupid, and Suro was just amazing and some.

Another good one in the vault with connections to other works in the series but can be read alone.

When it comes to the genre of Interracial Romance, I am a stickler for excellence. And I must say that this writer, Theodora Taylor, has obtained my hard-won respect for an awesome piece of IRR fiction.

This book was pitch perfect: awesome dialog, character development, well-timed moments of suspense, exceptional story arc, and erotica that accentuated the story.

"Her Perfect Gift" is one of those rare Interracial Romances that left me saying: "Wow, now that was a good book!" I started this book @ 9:00pm, and couldn't put it down until almost 1:00 in the morning. I love it when I'm captivated by a book, and I look forward to checking out more of her works...

Before I sign off , I'd like to say a thousand "Thank U's" to the group "Fans of Interracial Romance" http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1... for having a Nook/Kindle Lending thread that rocks, and I'd also like to thank the member who so graciously loaned me a copy via her Kindle lending library. When people are willing to share what they have, some awesome treasures can be discovered.

Giving this one: 5 well-deserved stars for a logical and not to mention awesome piece of IRR fiction..

A very enjoyable read with good pacing, interesting characters, and a bit of mystery. Your drawn into the story from the first pages and once the children are introduced you won't be able to put it down. The H/H weren't silly or overbearing, their actions went along with their characters which Ms. Taylor did a good job of fleshing out. 3 1/2 stars!!

This had a lot of the things that makes a Theodora Taylor book stand out. The heroine was quirky in a good way, the hero alpha but likable, and a sweetness that eases some of his "hole" tendencies from becoming unbearable. Some of the coincidence overload makes me want to rate this 3 1/2 stars.

I enjoyed this story but there were a few things that turned me off. First, the name Sparkle for the daughter was awful. Next, having a daycare at a strip club was so bizarre. Plus, the heroine gives tours for the club while carrying the kids with her. The character named "Candy" and the heroine had moments where they turned into stereotypical black characters which did not fit the story. Lastly, at one point the heroine is mad at the hero and gives him the silent treatment for weeks. I thought that was so immature and did not fit the character. Nevertheless, the story was HOT. The hero is Japanese and I applaud Ms. Taylor for doing such an amazing job with him. We need more diverse heroes. I wish Suro was more possessive and jealous; he was definitely obsessive.

The hero was awesome. He was obsessed with her from the moment he saw her. I didn't like the heroine as much. Her answer to everything was to run away.

I give the author credit for having a heroine and hero with a special needs child.

I thought the hero should have been smarter and taken backup for his mission at the very end of the book.

This book was just ok.

I loved this book! Talkative Lacey and Silent Suro were an interesting couple who pulled off one very interesting story with exciting twist and turns that kept me turning the pages. Lacey’s dark past was just as deadly as Suro’s dark present, a dark present that I believe Suro needed in order to survive Lacey past when it finally caught up to them. Great Read!

I am a fan! I have committed to reading all 50 states and can not wait to see more of this series. I really like Theodora Taylor's style of writing-I found myself wishing the story and characters plot were fleshed out a bit more because I truly loved the hero and heroine, I just wanted more of their individual story and more depth from their life as a couple. I think the plot line/ second story about the children was genius and thank you for bringing one of my favorite couples back for an update. Excellent!

This is my first book by the author. The hero is Asian which is wonderful. He is honorable, respectful and sexy a perfect match for the heroine. The children made the story.

A Lovely Book

This book was so good from beginning to end. I fell in love with Tasha and Suro from the jump. And the spicy scenes were steaming hot. It had me at the end of my seat. I would absolutely clock this as a dark romance.

I took one star off for the autistic rep. The out dated terms such as Asperger and high/low functioning. I recognize this book is older but it still bothered me. A long with the use of 'woman hood'. I'm trans and autistic and I'm bit more sensitive to those terms.

Beyond that? This book was excellent and I plan on reading the rest of the series.

Sexy Good

A hit man and a girl on the run, throw in two very smart kids and you have the makings of one really terrific story! We get two characters that are screaching and finally find it in one another. This was not just your classic romance but it comes awfully close.

Dangerous and sexy alpha male falls for sweet and friendly single mom in hiding. Fate brought them together but mind-blowing sex kept them hooked. Eventually loved blossomed and for Suro there is nothing he would not do to protect the woman he loves.

Gave up. Lack of characterization for the hero combined with some really UN-sexy moments and forced levity. Couldn't do it. I can't fault the editing, just the story itself.

*update* I'm giving this another try since I'm bored and can't find much else.
Right off the jump, the stereotyping of the two Aspergers kids is driving me nuts. My son is spectrum and while the medical community doesn't even use the term Aspergers any longer, its an easy default for high functioning kids. Another term that irks me but I understand the need for a distinction.
No eye contact-as usual. Stilted speech-as usual. *sigh* Don't like touching-as usual.
Its called a spectrum for a reason. And while all those things do occur in autistics, by no means are they standard. My son doesn't have any of those and I've seen plenty who dont so it would be nice to not have BOTH these kids basically have the exact same hallmarks.

4.25 stars. (BW/AM). A Nook e-book. I enjoyed this story. The idea of an Asian hit man and a black woman hunted by a mafia kingpin for killing his son didn't sound like the makings of a romance story ; yet, this author did it-and did it well! The protagonists, Suro Nakamura and Lacey Winter have a one night stand; but, are reintroduced because each has an autistic musical prodigy attending the same school and the two have become best friends. I think the author did a wonderful job of getting the reader to follow this couple as she weaves them through their web of danger and have them emerge as a happy family unit. Great Read.

Suro and Tasha seemed like a really odd couple at first but when the kids came in it all seemed to balance out. I really wanted to see more of what Suro did though. Seems like the story was a bit rushed in the final chapters just to get to the ending. It would've been really great to read just what he had to go through. I felt like I'd read enough about Tasha and wanted to follow along with him so you could really get an understanding of just who he was. I'd also wanted to read more about the after with them blending together. In the end it was a good read though.

I liked this book. I thought it was exciting and it offered something new. It didn't feel like the cookie cutter approach was used when writing this story, and I found that to be refreshing. Both characters had a child with special needs and it was written into the story very well. The ending wasn't rushed or a TBC, and this story left behind bread crumbs that made me curious about other stories the author had written....smooth, that was really smooth Ms. Taylor.

I haven't finished this...I stopped a few months ago. I just couldn't get over the creepy things this guy did to find and/or be almost too near her?! I mean it's not a bad story otherwise but the fact that she's semi-not-totally-freaking-out-but-more-irritated-than-freaked-that-this-perfect-one night stand stranger--literally-bought-your-job-and-apartment-just-to-"figure-you-out" is just...yeah, 58% in and haven't been able to get a grasp of that.

Stopped at 37%. It has a promising start. The quiet hero and the heroine that was logical. But then, he bought the club and 360° change on the personality. Like, Suro is now upfront and angry and Lacey is all crazy about him and being someone else for him. I just wasn't feeling it. I was bored. I liked the interaction between sparkle and Kenji. Though Sparkle is a totally ridiculous nickname. Don't even get me started on that.

Meshed Well!

I will start at the end and work my way backwards. If Lacy had just found out that she was pregnant last Christmas. What had the doctor just cleared Lacy to have sex from? When did Suro and Lacy get married, when Gracie born, timeline please. There were a couple of sentences that didn't come across as coherent. On the other hand , the way that the characters crossover brilliant! Enjoyed how the Nakamuras and Rustanovs intertwine.

I know this is book 1. I just read these in whatever order I want to. I liked this one a lot, and it's fun to see how the characters from other books interact. Good love story. I love the musical prodigy "twins". Steamy, heart-warming read.

Loved it

This book was such a great read I couldn't put it down. Suro was a total alpha billionaire. Tasha was a perfect mystery for him and when he learned her secrets he wanted her even more.

Absolutely Magnificent

OMG I absolutely enjoyed this story its flawless. Every part the characters, their passion just all of flawless! Oh my this story has me so tied up I mean this in the best way possible. From the start its funny, exciting with superb characters and It will pull you in like no story has ever done before. This one has plenty of surprises some you will enjoy and some you won't. Suro/Tetsuro Nakamura and Lacey/ Tasha relationship is really seductive with alluring tension and completely satisfying! Their have a passionate relationship which makes her learn what real love for a man is and I enjoyed reading about her as she did it. What comes next is plenty of conflict that happens but of course this is where you find your heart breaking or at least it feels like it. Now Tetsuro Nakamura who is referred as Suro is very quiet and has lots of secrets and he feels that Lacey is his forever even if she doesn't know it. Plus as always their secrets are exposed. Suro has a job beside the one with his partner and friend Dexter. Suro grows a whole lot for Lacey and the way it all plays out will make you want to throw things and talk to your reader. The secondary characters, along with the tension and passion made this story a excellent story. Also the ending had me cheering for this couple and made my heart happy . I can’t wait to read the next story. I absolutely enjoyed the two stories I read in this series. I Highly Recommend.
