This book has amazing recipes that anyone can follow, except me. The reason I rate this book 4 Stars is because it is not really clear on what you need to do. It is more for professional cooks than for people like me who just wanted to make some dinner. Other than that though, good cook book.

It may be silly but right off the glossy paper turned me off. Recipes are not presented in a easy to follow way, often grouping entree and sides together.

Includes recipes from season 2 and highlights some of the contestants in a "where are they now" feature.

The recipes included seem to be fairly straight forward, but many are definitely geared more towards those who are comfortable and at at least an intermediate level in the kitchen.

Contributions from Graham and Joe, but nothing from Gordon.

The book is marketed as the ultimate guide to becoming a master chef. While it includes helpful tips for beginners in the forward, and clear directions, many recipes will be a challenge for a beginner.

What I do find helpful in this book is that you can look through and see what flavors go with other flavors. Many times the combinations are explained in the recipe introduction.

Now to try some of these recipes for myself...

I watched the whole season, and wished for the recipes.. This book has them! I doubt they're all in there, but it certainly looks like they may be!

The arrangement of recipes is by category: meats, seafood, poultry, etc. there are pictures of most of the participants throughout, with all of them together on one of the first pages. If you have a favorite, here's a way to have a recipe by them.

Of course, I have no idea if the recipes work out well. Some cookbooks have "bad" recipes: recipes that don't work out as written. I'm sure I'll be using this cookbook many times over the next year (making gluten free editions when necessary, of course).

I'm making the tiramisu first ;)

Because I enjoyed watching some episodes of the television show, I thought I'd try the book to gauge how complex the recipes and techniques that these mostly "home cooks" utilized on screen. The recipes are accessible to the motivated and experienced home cook, and that is good to confirm. Lots of tips, few of which were "news" but probably helpful for many. Interesting stories of the contestants and their backgrounds. Not a groundbreaker or even one you'd add to your top 40 cookbook shelf. Would have given it a 3.5 if that was available.

I found these recipes a bit too complicated for home cooking. I love to cook but this seemed to have an awful lot of steps to each recipe. Plus there were some veggie things served in gelatin that didn't get good reviews on the show...so why were they in the book?!

From my favorite season of MasterChef, season 3. Showcases recipes from each challenge and all the contestants, include Monti Carlo and Christine Ha. Lots of extra tips for choosing food, caring for knives and cast iron pans, etc. Great book.

I never watched the show and the food is at least 2 stars above what I serve the family, but this book was fabulous. Beautiful pictures, interesting tips, nice stories...it was a pleasure to read.

Fun to read, but none of the recipes are realistic for my life or kitchen. Maybe a few caught my eye, but I wouldn't buy a cookbook for just a recipe or two. If you're a fan of the show, this is a fun read.
