This was a highly unusual book, but I really enjoyed it. I'm not usually a fan of magical realism, but this author managed to make it work. The story takes place in the same house but moves back and forth between different time frames. In the wrong hands this book would have been a disaster, but this author had the wit and skill to pull it off.
Such a subtle story and written with such skill, I adored this book. It blends the fantastical with the mundane in two separate but interwoven stories that leave you confounded right up to the end. Gorgeous!
