This book is the fourth part of a series, but each book is independent and doesn't have a continuous story line. Although I haven't read the previous versions, I was captivated by the unique world-building from the very first pages of this delightful sci-fi tale. Eudora, the precocious third-grader living aboard the AstroLiner spaceship, comes to life with her infectious enthusiasm and unwavering determination. Her passion for math, science, and engineering shines through, making her an inspiring role model for young readers.

The author's attention to detail painted such a vivid picture of life in space that I found myself fully absorbed in the story. However, I found Eudora's adopted alien family and the vibrant community a little challenging to digest.

What sets this book apart is Eudora's unexpected role as a matchmaker. The only downside, for me, is the concept of a third grader assisting adults in matchmaking. As a result, I would suggest a recommended reading age of 10+ for this aspect of the story. Nevertheless, it was intriguing to see how Eudora handles the situation, and young readers will learn valuable skills in navigating conversations, which can contribute to their growth.

While the story entertains with humor and an engaging plot, it also subtly imparts valuable lessons. Eudora's actions and their consequences provide young readers with an opportunity to learn about consent, boundaries, and the complexities of relationships. These thought-provoking themes are skillfully woven into the narrative, allowing for meaningful discussions and reflection.

Additionally, the illustrations throughout the book are adorable and perfectly complement the story. They bring the characters and their surroundings to life, enhancing the reading experience.

David Horn has crafted a tale that entertains and educates, igniting meaningful conversations along the way. I appreciated how the author artistically introduced himself and the illustrator at the end of the book. To fully understand Eudora's journey and her charms, I must read all the books in the series.

Eudora, a precocious 13 year old seeks to be ever helpful and sets out to cheer up her captain by helping him achieve his dream of going on a date with her teacher.

I wanted to like this book. The setting in space is really fantastic place for storytelling and I genuinely enjoyed the descriptions of Eudora's ship and the beings that she lives with/around. Where I find the story becomes a problem is that Eudora's antics I expected to come with a lesson attached, that never came to be.

Without too much in the way of spoilers, my main issue lies with Eudora reaching out to a grown adult man asking why he's sad, leading to him treating her as a confidant and even implying that he's able to do so because she's special. This includes her then making a plan to set him up with another person on the ship that he likes, orchestrating a multi-step, multi-person mission to trick one adult into spending time with the other. What I expected to happen is Eudora would learn a lesson about consent as it relates to taking people on dates when they think they're fake, or that inserting yourself as a child into the love lives of adults can only lead to trouble, or that ideally being asked to be a relationship coach for an adult is a red flag. I wasn't comfortable with the normalization of Eudora's relationship with the professional adults in her life and it left me with concerns about lack of education on grooming for children/how to identify it. I won't spoil the ending by saying exactly why, but I feel that the ending seeks to justify her actions and therefore sidesteps the lessons that could(should) have been there.

The writing and world-building were good and the illustrations throughout are also cute and well done, but the lack of acknowledgement of the problems with what Eudora was doing in the book means I wouldn't recommend this story be read by children, at least not without a discussion.

An amazing science fiction piece

I ended up enjoying reading The Greatest Matchmaker in Space. The family setting of Eudora, a third-grade girl, and her eighth-grade sister Molly is interesting. They live on a spaceship with their adopted alien parents. The spaceship is a community full of activities; the kids attend school while their parents work on the spaceship.

Eudora is a brilliant girl who knows how to win her parents' sympathy even when she has committed a mistake. Her sister Molly is a genius who scores excellent grades in class and plays the role of a big sister well, although her younger sister is somehow manipulative.

Eudora's favorite subjects are math and science, and she dreams of becoming a chief spaceship engineer or a captain. She is fond of Captain Jax, who doesn't entertain kids getting on his bridge.

The most fascinating part of the story is when Eudora offers to help the captain ask her teacher, Miss Allison, out on a date. She makes it more interesting when she exclaims, "Not every day do you get to help the captain." The date gets more interesting when Dr. Ratz shows up, claiming to have been hooked up to Miss Allison by Eudora. Eudora tries to convince her teacher that Captain Jax is better than Dr. Ratz.

Eudora is indeed the greatest matchmaker considering her age and the fact that she planned a date that led to a successful marriage proposal. It is intriguing how Miss Allison mistakenly thought Captain Jax was asking her to marry him when he knelt to pick berries scattered by Eudora's date, Arnold.

I was hooked on the book, eager to discover the next turn of events. The Greatest Matchmaker In Space is an entertaining piece not just for early and intermediate readers but anyone who loves science fiction.

The Greatest Matchmaker in Space by David Horn is a fun read for children. The book is fast-paced and will keep the attention of even reluctant readers. This book will delight young readers and allow them to join in on the adventures of Eudora.

The Illustrations by Judit Tondora add whimsy to the story and will be enjoyed by young fans of Eudora's adventures.
This book is an excellent introduction to the series; after reading this installment, readers will want to read all the available books and eagerly await Horn's newest release.

The Greatest Matchmaker in Space would work exceptionally well in a classroom setting and for individual children to read and enjoy. From a classroom perspective, the STEM concepts presented as part of the plot quickly lead to hands-on learning and are great examples of applying STEM concepts across academic disciplines.

The characters are well written and will leave readers rooting for them. The setting of a spaceship will add further interest for young readers and capture their imaginations. Young readers will have no trouble following the plot twists and turns. A favorite part of the book for many is sure to be a misunderstanding involving blueberries that leads to a happy turn of events for some favorite characters.

Readers will root for Eudora to succeed and admire her response to adversity. Eudora is also an excellent example to young readers when she apologizes to her sister and ultimately accepts her responsibility in response to a family argument.

It is highly recommended for elementary students to read independently and to classroom teachers who want to introduce this fun series to their students. Young readers will cheer Eudora on and will eagerly wait for the newest installment in the series to be released.

A unique lighthearted space romance for a children's book

This was beyond cute I love how you Eudora set up the captain of the spaceship that her and her family live on and how she got her sister involved. Not to mention her best friend Arnold In this last book of the series. The pure innonence of how Eudora gets both her teacher Miss Allison and Captain Jax together is beyond amazing and something I have never read set in a sci-fi world. I loved every second of this playful set up date with familiar romance concepts and normalareas such as a cafeteria on a ship. It worked out perfectly for given the young child protagonists reputation and how smart or clever she is, plus the familiarity in complete varied ways of the two adults.

Given how this short book starts and ends I could not give it less than four stars because its really does a nice job of being simplistic. It makes sense of how a kid gets such a major partnering together. There are of course bumps along the way but it's still was funny and easy enough to get to the conclusion with the help of some more patient help this time around. I loved how this last book ended with a positive story to impactful figures of this ship. And how the faults did not entirely come from Eudora's actions all togtner, at least not on a major level for the big conflict. This one had everything set up for resolution and growth done so well in such a tiny sci-fi childrens book that made this blend of genres in this finale something I possibly would like to read other books similar to it.

"The Greatest Matchmaker in Space! (Eudora Space Kid Book 4)" by David Horn features Eudora's impressive attainments in space, on board the AustroLiner Athena. Eudora is a third grader who has been adopted by nonnative parents, and whose appeal dazzlingly shines when she submits to work out a relatively eccentric mission, of matchmaking her formidable captain to her teacher. Her strategic approaches and ingenious thought lead the two to a breathtaking wedding proposal, a tremendous exertion engineered by a child of her age, and one that ratifies her expertise in issues to do with love.
Though this event is both bewildering and unique, it may not be welcomed reasonably by parents who are susceptible to the protagonist's age factor and her influence on their children. However, its brimming lessons may outweigh the sentiments and have employed the read for their kids.
Across-the-board, "The Greatest Matchmaker in Space! (Eudora Space Kid Book 4)" by David Horn is an engaging installment that will skillfully rouse the imagery mastery in youngsters. It will in the same way inspire enthusiasm and ideation in seemingly impossible ventures and tryouts for youngsters. Highly recommended!

The Greatest Matchmaker In Space!, Book 4, by David Horn, is the early reader, science fiction story of Eudora, a third grader who lives in space. Eudora is a math and science whiz adopted by aliens, and her desire is to become a chief engineer on AstroLiner. She also feels compelled to come up with a plan to help Captain Jax win the love of his life. So, she and her best friend, Arnold, plan a date for them. And Eudora uses her consummate brainpower to dream up the perfect romantic entanglement.

Horn’s science fiction tale is humorously written and educational. Eudora’s adventures would spark any child’s interest. Horn paints vivid word pictures to ignite a child’s imagination, and his instructive prose is cleverly written from a child’s perspective.

I’d gladly give, The Greatest Matchmaker In Space!, Book 4, by David Horn, a five-star review. What a funny and delightful book for young minds.

I liked that whenever a new character or location is introduced, a background is provided so that the reader understands the context of what is being said. That helps in maintaining the flow of reading. The world in which the story unfolds is explained well and the illustrations do a good job of visualising what exactly is happening in the story.

Some readers might disagree that the work is not entirely appropriate to be considered suitable for children. However, the nuances of the protagonist are indeed child-like and well-thought. Imagining some of the characters and situations mentioned can be tough for adult readers accustomed to the real world but not for the younger ones.

The story takes a lot of twists at a brisk pace. It is very tempting to finish reading the book in one go. I would have liked it better if the protagonist did not repeatedly indulge in jumping to conclusions based on a few anecdotal observations and had a bit more humility.

In “The Greatest Matchmaker in Space!”, a brilliant and resourceful girl named Eudora leads young readers on a fascinating and amazing adventure across space. Her love of engineering and her insatiable curiosity about the cosmos are brought to life in this intriguing tale.
Science fiction and engineering are expertly combined by David Horn to create a universe that appeals to young readers' imaginations and curiosities. Children are motivated by the main character to embrace their own intrigue and use their creative thinking to overcome obstacles.
Something that I really liked about this title is that it subtly promotes the notion that anybody, regardless of gender, may pursue their aspirations in engineering.
I enjoyed this story as much as the previous ones.

I like the illustrations, they're pretty good at depicting what they need to. The setting is interesting. You don't generally see chapter books set in space on a spaceship.

Eudora though, she reads more like an adult writing for a child. She's missing that spark to draw you in. It feels like a sitcom. So, this might me more a personal preference. If you enjoy that kind of thing or if your kid is really into the Disney kid sitcoms, they'll be really into this book. Or they like really like space. Otherwise, there are probably chapter books that would appeal more to them.

Also, any instance of any adult asking a third grader for help in anything romantic always, always strikes me as super weird.

Early chapter book for space fans

This series is great for beginning readers of chapter books. It takes place in a giant family friendly space ship. In this volume, the main character uses her knowledge of engineering to solve a romantic problem.

David Horn does it again -- this isn't my first time reading about Eudora, and I loved this story just as much as the last. This is a wonderful book for children of all ages, but this adult loved the story too. It's fun, it's exciting.

Looking for a love triangle? There's kind of one in there. Looking for a match made over blueberries? There's that too. Horn is an excellent storyteller, and it's visible on every page.

This middle length book has taught me that I don’t need to have any special quality to overcome adversity and reach my goals and just for this I would recommend reading it. I really liked the message the book gives and for me it was a total mind changer.

I think the author’s writing style is clear and the mental exercises proposed are practical and useful. I will recommend reading this book without any doubts.
