Maeve Haran is an Oxford Law graduate who worked in journalism and television before writing her first novel, Having It All, a worldwide bestseller translated into 26 languages and shortlisted for
the Romantic Novel of the Year. She wrote twelve more contemporary novels, one work of non-fiction, and two historical novels.

Her new book In the Summertime is due out on June 8.

She has grown-up three children and lives in North London.

Ein Ehepaar mit zwei Kindern, glücklich und leidenschaftlich. Bis sie eines Tages zu viel mit sich selbst beschäftigt sind und ihre Gedanken und Gefühl nicht miteinander teilen. Sie trennen sich und man spürt den Schmerz, den verletzten Stolz und die Liebe förmlich aus dem Buch schreien. Am Ende siegt die Liebe und gibt einem die Hoffnung, dass die wahre Liebe trotz unangenehmer Umstände existiert und siegen kann. Ich habe richtig mitgefiebert und fühle mich als (emotionaler) Teil der Geschichte. Lieber würde ich genau diese Geschichte erleben als belanglose und wenig leidenschaftliche Beziehungen zu führen.

The title makes it sound like a Mary Kate & Ashley movie and the author shares a first name with the lovely Ms. Binchy. It was a fine book. Nothing close to great, but it was long and kept me entertained for a few days. This, aside from brilliance, I appreciate in a book.

It was about a long married couple, their family, their seperation, new partners and an eventaul reconcilliation.

The main thing I got from this book was a desire to really explore West Cork. I was to stay in country inns where there are big fire places and fry-ups for breakfast. I want to wander around small villiages. Lovely.

First it took me a long time to read this book, but after all this family-disaster it was kinda exciting, to read about Stephen and Tess' new relationships... I didn't like Jo and Lyall at all so i was really happy when Stephen and Tess found together again.

If this was a movie it would be a romantic comedy, with funny, happy, expected, surprising and sad moments.
