In 'Letting in the Wild Edges', Glennie Kindred encourages us to celebrate the bounties of nature and reconnect with the Earth. Season by season we are given tips for foraging wild foods, learn how to grow edible and native plants in our gardens and are given recipes for making simple medicines from our finds. By letting wild native plants in to our lives and gardens, Glennie helps us to trust and listen to our intuition and expand our many senses.
This was an interesting book about nature and included some of the earth celebrations as well. It was interesting to me to learn about some of the ways to use the plants around you, especially those that seem to be weeds. I could have used a few more pictures of the plants since I know next to nothing that would help me differentiate between them. I liked the recipes for simple medicinal uses for the plants, like cough syrups. The book was written well.
A truly inspiring book about getting out on the land through the seasons, growing & foraging wild plants and making food & kitchen medicine remedies with them and celebrating the pagan seasonal festival of the year.
