This is a much simplified introduction to the Qur’an for English speaking Muslims. It has been written within a contemporary context, for new and old Muslims living in Western societies. It is partly original work and partly translated from existing Arabic books. Chapter two establishes the status of the Qur'an and tajweed, especially for Muslims involved in da'awa work in Western societies. Chapter three explains the grammar and meaning in surah al-Fatihah, aiming to give the reader a more detailed understanding of the meaning of what they say when praying; hence they can become more reflective in their prayer Chapters four and five ‘Introduction to Tafsir of the Qur’an’ and 'Tafsir of al-Baqarah verses 1 to 39' are abridged translations of a book published in Arabic ‘at-Tayseer fi Usool it-Tafsir’ or ‘Simplification of the foundations of Tafsir’ written by Shaikh Ataa’ bin Khaleel Abu Rishta in 2006. Chapter six is a partial translation of al-wajeez fi ahkam tilawat il-kitab il-azeez ‘A summary of the rules of recitation of the Great Book’ by Dr. Ali Muhammad Tawfeeq an-Nahaas.
