Turn the performance review process into a performance ENHANCEMENT process! How to coach employees to "exceed expectations" by giving them a lead role in the review process
"Fearless Performance Reviews" helps provides a groundbreaking new framework that transforms not just the review process but the entire relationship between coach and employee. The book explores how to set performance expectations, diagnose performance problems, and prepare for and conduct the review. It replaces traditional reviews with the Mutual Learning Mindset, in which employee takes the lead throughout the performance cycle.

I try to read at least a couple books a year about workplace stuff to improve myself as an employee. I say "try" because I find most of them really don't speak to my situation very well. Even though this book is addressed mostly to managers, I still found it a huge help. Even if your workplace doesn't even use formal performance reviews, there is so much of value here that I think every manager and employee should read it.
