This book was just one big commercial for Investors Business Daily. It was put out by them to promote their products.

A basic guide to investing.

I thought the proverbs / sayings were really good, but the investing stuff was repetitive and didn't contain much detail.

First of..this book was written right from the start with marketing and publicity in mind.
There are some good investment advice inside, BUT they are buried among many long winded examples and heavy advertising.. By the time you finish this book you might be convinced that whatever stock is recommend on their website (IBD) is a guaranteed success.
Big secret: it doesn't work that way

This method is mostly based on technical analysis, with strong earnings growth as a supporting foundation. The basic idea is buy the leaders in the leading groups with the best earnings as they advance in price. That is the whole book summed up in one line.

The raw material might be worth four stars to new traders/investors, but I have removed one star for all the shameless advertising of their website, and it is long winded in several places without any added value.

If you can wade through all the extra stuff, you will certainly find some useful information here. I most appreciated the selling rules, which account for 2 of my 3 stars, and that is only one chapter.

I first picked this book up at a Half Price Books around 5 months ago. At first, I thought it was a commercial book for Interstors Business Daily. But, this isn't the case. It has a lot of graphs and stories, and it analyzes each of them. The biggest help is the "Key Points" after each story. I recommend this to anyone who wants to know about stocks and get into them.

Had a few nuggets, but most importantly it contained success stories of individuals who changed their future following CAN SLIM. It takes work. But it is achievable.

“I really enjoyed this book—it offered a concise and engaging look at the history and strategies of some of the traders we follow today. A clear, easy read that I absolutely loved.”

3.5 Ultimately brief volume of case studies ranging from the extremely to moderately concise. Though (obviously) essentially a pump of the CAN SLIM system, I did appreciate inclusion of self-examination of individuals' errors, and the overall emphasis on chart-accompanied case study rather than simple narrative. Probably works best as an introduction to those unfamiliar with O'Neil's approach (and products), without nearly the investment of time that his primary volume would require.

It was OK.
I read on the Kindle so it was hard to follow through with the charts (which was a the main thing with the book).
Anyway, it was some good stuff in it!
