I'm going into my second year as a teacher at the preschool level and wanted a self-study book. I think this did a fine job of that. Despite being designed for a different system and situation (namely its for student teachers) than I am working in, the advice is fundamental and sound. There are many further resources recommended. The journal sections weren't particularly helpful to me, but that's my only slight complaint.
