A good introductory book to the subject for 15 out of the 20 chapters. However in the final five chapters the author rather spoils his work by including both personal beliefs and unsubstantiated claims. A good book to start with but the reader should be aware of presumptions from the author which permeate the content.

A good basic overview of criminology.

If you want a general overview of the subject of criminology, then this is a great book to begin your studies with.

This work is a cursory basic introduction to the field of criminology for self-study. The book was written and published in England and is so slanted toward the British system. Numerous references are given throughout.
