"This is one of the most clever, entertaining, and hilarious series I've ever read." –Joe Siple, bestselling author of The Five Wishes of Mr. Murray McBride It's an all-out genre war in this third installment of the Lost on a Page series. Joe Slade is a detective with a hot lead and no idea where he is. Fallen from the world of fiction, Joe journeys through a hellscape of conflicting happy endings. There, he must confront the story–and the life–he left behind. His last chance to escape his fictional existence is to navigate an impossible labyrinth of genre tropes and reunite with his mentor Ellodrine, a wizard who suffers from reinterpretation. Their quest will take them through genres dark and Treacherous Spy Fiction, Gothic Horror, Gritty Cyberpunk, Urban Fantasy, and others too terrible to tell. But can Joe and Ellodrine change their story when the plot betrays them? And how can Joe choose between an old love and a new life?
Mr. Sharp… or can I call you David? I feel like we are on first name basis with a book like that. I loved it! I have been in an utter reading slump when it comes to fiction. I’ve started more bad books this year than I care to admit. I felt fed up with dumb books, so I’ve only been reading non-fiction for a while. Then this book was announced! I didn’t want to hold my breathe that it would be good, since this seems to be the year of terrible books. And also, thirds are hard! Wrapping up a series well is always a challenge so it’s hard to hold out hope that things will work them selves out. Well this book exceeded all expectations in every way! I chuckled, I smiled and I gobbled it up. I tried to pace my self, but if I was given free time I would of read it all in one sitting. I agree with the librarian “bookmarks are for the weak”.
My only comment is there was a need for more editing. There were typos and the wrong names mentioned in a few vital parts. So next book, let me pre read and I’ll help you out.
“Books connect us to other worlds.” This book series has given me so much life. It is living in my head, as they say, rent free.
This was the last book in the “Lost On A Page Trilogy” and I’m SO sad. I feel like I moved away from my best friend. I read the first 2 books so quickly with so much ease that when I got to this book I knew it was going to take me awhile. 11 days to be exact, okay I was dragging it out, but wouldn’t you?!
Almost every loose end was tied at the end of this book and it left on an interesting note to keep you satisfied, but also making you wonder if this is *really* the end!
This book had Joe Slade like Agent K was in Men in Black 2, he was thrust into a life he THOUGHT he knew. One day, things started slowly coming back and just like in MIB2, someone comes along to help him remember.
The following is just glorious work on part of the rest of the protagonists as they scramble and ache to find Slade.
The name of this book is “Twisted Plots” and for a good reason. This whole series is a 5⭐️ star read. This was the ultimate adventure book for me and you definitely got a sense of love and family in this series. Like I said, like moving away from your best friend. Strangers were put together and they came out a family in the end. Everyone had a purpose. I loved reading through every genre and seeing the author intertwine them all into this series.
I had so much fun reading these books and they’ve become my favorite this year!! I’m so glad I found these books and my only regret is taking so long to read the first book.
Existing characters are great, new additions and editions are superb, plot (twists) are unexpected yet, once read, seem as though they should have been obvious. Again, I loved this book and the whole series. Thank you, David E. Sharp... or whoever you are!
Highly recommended!! I enjoyed each and every character in this final installment. To be quite honest. I can understand what I believe is a life lesson. Always strive for a better you, appreciate those who walk with you through life lessons, and alway appreciate the results in all adventures. It maybe corny. But I looove this series. Hilarious, thought provoking, plot twist you won’t see coming, and some plot twist you do see coming but you will thank God it worked out. I love the real character interactions that everyone will be able to relate too.
All three books in this set are head-spinning romps thru almost every speculative-fiction genre known to Western civilization. And Will Shakespeare even has a cameo. Not to give away anything, but the ending is definitely worth the read. You’ll think about these characters and plot twists long after finishing the last page.
This book perfectly wraps up the Lost on a Page series. It makes every stressful, excruciating moment the characters (and readers) experienced worth it. If you haven't read the first two books, please go read them first. This epic series is so well written and fun to read. I hope that we get see some side adventures in the future because I am going to truly miss the characters now that the tale has been told. The ending of this book had me weepy because it was perfect and also because I didn't want it to end. Highly recommend.
I love this series so much. I'm just a sucker for the whole book-hopper genre, and this is such a good example of it; it's so well-written and I love how the author blends the different writing styles together. The protagonists finally landed in Cyberpunk! and Urban Fantasy! and no spoilers but I love the ending! I hope this isn't the actual end of the series?
"...An Absurd Multi-Genre Farce with Vampires, Science-Fiction Gadgetry and Feline Operatives"
To quote from Chapter six which barely covers the half of it. Settles on the sci-fi genre Philip K Dick could have written, though with characters the reader cares about. Impossible to even attempt to categorise, so better just to enjoy a magical series.
It's not easy finding something unique and captivating after reading books 65+ years. Totally enjoyed this story from start to finish and hope to see Joe and company in one of the other many books I read... You never know.
A great closing chapter to Sharp's Lost on a Page series!
Great ending (somehow he managed to cram at least as many happy endings in as there are genres he's incorporated)! Sad to see them go - but all things come to an end - or do they!?
