I think this is her best book ... the plot blends a fairy tale with gothic elements. The cynical aristocrat, the runaway tavern girl, the ancient mystical oak tree are all contributors to the atmosphere of this story. well done!

2.5. This was an okay book for me. I liked the beginning and the end was fine, but the middle moved way to slow. Also, I really didn't feel like the characters had any chemistry. It felt very forced to me.

I REALLY liked this book and I look forward to reading more from this author. It was a great love story/mystery and kept me wanting to read more...
