Book 8 is Phenomenal!!!!!!

Author E.J. Brock manages to write stories that do not repeat themselves or feel recycled. This is a big series and it is by the Grace of God that she is able to write freely the way she does. What so amazing to me is that she just started this series a couple of years ago and to know that she has I believe 20 books out under "The Spirit Mate series. And 3 books out so far under "The Sanctioned Mate" series speaks about an author who is on a mission.

This story really had me in tears and I do mean literally, this was a tough story. There were a lot of residue left in the hearts of the humans that's for sure. There were outbursts from the Men Walker Clan that broke my heart, one particular Walker man Pastor Floyd had a break that I didn't see coming, he was the one who really made me cry. But I believe he needed that break down so badly and it was about to be a real Come to Jesus Moment for the brothers because Pastor Floyd put his bible down and the Gangster Floyd stepped forward. I know I wasn't prepared for that but it was much needed, I felt like he had so much on his plate and people were expecting so much from him that the dam on his emotions broke through and a hurricane was unleashed. And it took his brother Smittie to bring him back from the other side and it was at that very moment that conviction came for everyone because many of them needed to be reminded of a number of things.

SnowAnna the wife of Hezekiah Walker's secret was tearing apart the household. How the heck Brock allowed it to go for this long was beyond bewildering to me. The way SnowAnna was treating Ali made me sick to my stomach and I wanted her out of the house, she got on my very last nerve. She was self righteous in blaming Ali for something that was unbeknownst to him but when it came down to his mate and protecting her that was his first priority. So when he revealed something everything just went to hell in a hand basket (The episode happened in Book 7) and unfortunately it had far reaching consequences. SnowAnna did something that could have damaged all of them but I understand perfectly why she did it (If it were me I would have done the same thing to save the one I love). But in doing so she damn near divided a house she need to hurry up and have her own place built so she can get out LOL!!!

Lucinda surprised me the most, but then again I shouldn't be surprised because it was a revelation of how we think we are over something that has hurt us beyond measure and just because the years have gone by we oftentimes believe we are over it. Until a blast from the past is standing in our face and then our hearts revealed what has always been there, it was just lying dormant and all of the hurt and pain rears its ugly head once again. To the point we lash out at the wrong people who have had nothing to do with our earlier pain. This was Lucinda's lot, that one moment caused a rippling effect that almost cost the Walker Men to turn against each other. It caused a huge riff with her children and her husband. But I can understand Lucinda's painful outburst because it just revealed what was still in her own heart. And it was from that moment Lucinda could finally allow God to heal her.

There were a bunch of weddings happening which I loved and was so happy for especially for my 2 guys (Chefton and Salvatore) wedded bliss looked so good on those two LOL!!! The back stories of how each couple came to be was so wonderful to read about their road to the altar. And then the babies were being born at rapid rates, I love reading about the little ones (next generations) coming forth. One birth gave me a serious fright, I was praying Oh Lord Please don't let nothing happen to the mother or the baby. So happy for the Watchers becoming fathers and it was just so amazing to read how each one responded to the birth of their baby. Of course Lillian has to be the biggest a$$ *sighs* I really wished Denel had another mate because Lord knows I can't take her.

Towards the end of the story new pregnancy's were being announced but amidst the joyous announcements, Hania said something cryptic to his dad and I didn't like the sounds of it either and in Book 9 "Baraqiel's DAWN - A "Spirit" Mate Romance and WAR". I will find out what exactly is he about to do.

I highly recommend this series, if you love Christian stories plus paranormal the author has done an exemplary job in weaving the two genres together to produce dynamic stories that you will enjoy. The first book in the series "BROCK'S REDEMPTION (A "SPIRIT" MATE SERIES Book 1)" will start you on the wonderful journey of the Watchers. Trust me when I tell you, you will definitely want your own Watcher/Spirit Mate LOL!!

Book 8 was filled with the weddings and births in the family.

This book also had me in stitches with the antics of the family. However SnowAnna and Lucinda I could have given them the beat down of their lives. They were behaving so badly with their childrens' relationships and acting out. Shame on them!!

This book gave us an insight into the Walker families relationships and family dynamics which was an eye opener.

Another excellent read. On to book 9 without even a break. Totally hooked!

Weddings & Births Galore

What a day to celebrate. There’s nothing like the unity of love and bringing new life into the world. Be prepared for some unusual births and a lot of humor from the many families gathered for this happy occasion. I absolutely loved the back stories of the wedding parties. Another great read from EJ Brock.

One of the few books that I was able to read in less than a day. In this story, those that have been mated have gotten married, and all those that were pregnant are delivering the babies, some in very interesting ways.

I loved this book!!!! There was so much going on, but it all fit together. I loved the way Ms. Eva told each person's story from their POV in the same moment. The memories we read about were bothshocking and revealing. Oh, and we got to see another side of Pastor Floyd AKA Gangsta Floyd! I'm telling you, my eyes were huge by the time I finished reading this story! This author has such an incredible way of drawing you inside the lives of these characters. This series just gets better and better.

Ms. Brock has done it again. She has managed to tell the back story of both the watchers and their spirit mates along with giving us a glimpse into the families dynamics. We get to see a softer side of Brock and the “hard side” of both Floyd and Hezekiah. While they may have their differences, we see that ultimately Love prevails.
