Wake up with Unknown, a young girl with no memory, just off a mountainous highway in Southern California. Continue with her on an apocalyptic journey, as she desperately tries to find anywhere that is safe, while the world around her falls to an unidentified weapon that violently destroys everything in its path. Try to unravel her past, as she tries to discover the reason behind the trust for her new found friend and rescuer, Dr. Chimes, as they race to get out of California. Unfold in family dysfunction as Dr. Chimes’ mother and half-brother complicate this ride, but brace yourself because in this story, nothing seems to survive.
The Falling is a novel not only about mankind falling helplessly to an unprecedented weapon, but of two people falling desperately in love.

My favorite part of this book was waking up on the side of the road in the middle of the forest with a girl with no memory or who she is or how she got there with a urge to flee north from an unknown threat. This dynamic makes it so that you as the reader must learn whats going on with her.
My favorite character is Darrel a brash and cynical Marine who feels that the world is a joke meant for his amusement.
