Without question, some of writer and artist Gary Frank's best work to date. This self-penned tale gives Frank free rein to tell the story cinematically. That it is a labor of love is obvious. A young female northwoods fieldworker becomes embroiled in scientific and political intrigue when irrefutable evidence of the existence of at least one surviving Neanderthal is discovered — and she, herself, is the discoverer, as she comes upon him wounded in the snow. The scope of the plot widens from there.
