Although quite repetitive, it was inspiring. It was also apparent the author worked in advertising...perhaps a bit audacious in parts. Too many links to her website/YouTube. Also has some grammar mistakes.

Shannon Kaiser really shows off her skill as an artist, advertiser and marketing agent. Well done Shannon.
Very disappointing book. I thought there would be so something new, insightful. Shannon took her insights from other books on finding one's self and rolled them up into a concise, well organized and laid-out simple tale of her journey from her career as an advertising executive into "her life's passion" as a travel writer. "So simple. Just align yourself up with what you desire. Leave behind what is making you miserable and it will manifest into your life, effortlessly."
She took her expertise and skills she learned working in advertising and used it to successfully market this book. From the cover: blue, grey tones of a stormy beach; the element of water, of powerful crashing waves representing emotions, melancholy and lonely juxtaposed by the brilliant red rain boots evoking the carefree, happy times of childhood playing in the rain and jumping in rain puddles - to the neat, bulleted summaries at the end with recommendation to go to her website for more useful insights she gleaned from other books and blog sites on the topic.

This is a good motivational book. However I saw several editing errors and some of the concepts seemed overly repeated or emphasized (one thing might be stressed as the "single most important thing" to finding happiness, but then a couple chapters later, the phrase is repeated but with a different concept. So, which one is the "single most important"? I noticed this in several chapters). Though I love Shannon and her inspiring journey (which I do follow on YouTube), I was hoping for more inspiration from this book...more meaty goodness and depth. But over all, it was a good read.

This book was such an awesome guide to really finding true happiness. Her candidness about her life throughout the book gave a realistic edge to her unique words of wisdom and practical action steps. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is searching for more clarity and peace in their lives!

Worthwhile effort. I’d read more from her based on this book.

I bought this book on Kindle in 2013, think I started it but wound up going elsewhere at that time until this year (2017), when I decided to read some books on happiness and this book kept coming to mind. Once I got into it I really enjoyed it. Easy read. I read a chapter at a time over a fairly long period. Some really good ideas in here. I’d read more from her based on this book.

I love Shannon Kaiser and I found her book Adventures for Your Soul to be one of the most inspiring and helpful books I’ve ever read. Find Your Happy unfortunately wasn’t as enjoyable. First and foremost, this book desperately needs an editor, it is extremely repetitive and full of grammatical problems. Nevertheless, her ideas are good and she has lots of suggestions for ways to “play with the world”.

Find Your Happy can provide solutions to greater freedom. Yes it can!

Transform your outlook to create an extraordinary life, full of adventure, happiness, and inner peace. Shannon Kaiser gives us much to think about. I love the idea of the "Magic List" and started writing mine out. (I'm having so much fun with this.)

Nothing is impossible. "I'm - Possible." Love this Shannon Kaiser!

Probably my favorite book. Very uplifting and helped me get out of some dark places. Whenever I feel down, I read the page designated to todays date and I can almost always relate. I'm very thankful for this book, for for giving me a passion for reading self help books.

“I was living one big, carefully-crafted lie created to avoid feeling my real truth.”

Oh love, been there. The awareness and honesty of the above statement set the tone for rest of Shannon’s wonderfully written and truly helpful book, Find Your Happy: An Inspirational Guide to Loving Life to Its Fullest.

I have read MANY self-help books and what some of them lack is depth. The author is usually honest about struggles, but he/she will gloss over them to get to the good stuff…their plan, their formula, their (shudder) diet. Shannon lays it all out there…the fear, the binges, the pity parties. She is transparent about her shift from victim to victor.

“When I let go of expecting my life to turn out a specific way, I was able to release the pressure and relax into the rhythm of life.”

and

“By taking accountability for our lives and the situations we are in, we can learn to adjust our strained thinking and allow life to flow.”

Flow. I was just talking about this in an interview. It’s a word that gets thrown around a lot, but it is an honest-to-God state of mind. Shannon talks about the importance of seeing that your inner state creates your outer experience. As it says in A Course in Miracles, “Projection makes perception.”

“The truth is we are always going to have enough money for what we need.”

This statement was a Light Bulb Moment for me. It is so true! I have made money very special and often it is elusive and mysterious to me. Shannon’s words made me think: what if I let go of my desire for money just as I am letting go of my desire for so many other things? Isn’t it all the same?

“By eating whatever we want without guilt, we can love ourselves fully and embrace all that life has to give.”

The key words for me here were: EATING WITHOUT GUILT. Shannon’s ability to do this came as a result of tiny little shifts, busting through fears left and right. She gives plenty of examples of how you can do this. It does not all occur at once. In my experience, with willingness to let it go the fear will be there one day and then someday later it just won’t be anymore. Surrender works.

“It takes guts to conjure up the courage to do things on the other side of fear”

Yes, yes, yes! Guts and willingness. Chances are if you’re reading this review and thinking of reading Shannon’s book you have both. Go for it. The tools are there. Find Your Happy is PACKED with helpful stories and resources.

I loved it. The writing is clear, concise and evocative. The layout is clean and easy to read. I highly recommend “Find Your Happy”!

I enjoyed the general theme of this book, and I found many parts uplifting & pep-talk-ish. I guess there were some things that I found ever-so-slightly annoying though, too. First of all, I found it to be REALLY repetitive. I feel that the author should have sat down with an editor to really clarify her ideas. They are good ideas, but the book feels scattered & redundant. I put it down three quarters the way through because I felt like it was overly repetitive. A month later, I picked it back up to finish it. She uses the same example of her job about 6-7 times throughout the book to support her points-- and it gets to be repetitive. At one point, she hits on a topic ("wait without worry") which I I actually liked. But then about 10-15 pages later repeats herself... I feel like she really just needed to refine her ideas. Instead of 18 chapters, she probably could refine her ideas into 12 main points. So many of her points feel like they overlap. So that is my main criticism as a reader. There are also a few minor errors/typos. Page 168 has a typo (It should be "though"--not "thought!" That is then followed by a run-on at the bottom of the page.) There are other numerous editing issues but I forget the page numbers--which made me feel like this book wasn't as strong as it could be. Was it rushed into publication? Wasn't somebody at the helm editing? And I sometimes I found the writing to be cliched. But I generally enjoyed the intent of the book: I like her ideas on making a vision board & surrounding one's self with the right people. (I do this; I like this. It's not a new idea, but it's positive.) I like the idea of saying YES and living more like it's a birthday every day. And I must say that when I ordered this book, I ordered it along with her daily mantra book (which I like so far). So I like the material overall. But I think refining & condensing this book would be fantastic & beneficial! At times this book felt like cotton candy: fluffy eye candy--with not a lot of substance. But I still generally liked it. It just wasn't earth shattering inspiration for me. I LIKED it. Not deep love. It's a 3.5 stars for me, but I can't give half-stars on this scale. I need a half star, please! :)

he past month I've read a small bookshelve of books about happiness. Shannon Kaiser's Find your Happy is the latest in the reading experience so far. Her lessons bear a lot in common with Julia Cameron's The Artist Way and Gretchen Rueben's The Happiness Project , in the way that we need to appreciate the small things in life, live in the moment and stay true to what we find important.

Kaiser writes - as the other authors - from her own experience and she builts a case that true happiness can only happen when we live true to our values. That starts with finding out what our values are, so without self knowledge happiness will remain out of our reach.

While she makes a strong case for her route to happiness, it felt a bit more hollow than the other books. That could be because about halfway through the book I felt that Kaiser started to repeat herself. But as a guide for everyone who wants to be happier and needs pointers it could work. For me, The Happiness Project was more of an engaging eye opener.

A great book for someone who is looking for a push (or permission) to step outside of their comfort zone, to remove clutter from their lives and to live in the moment. However, as someone who has read quite a few self-help books, it didn't stand out much, and it was repetitive at times. Took me too long to finish it, but I did take a few good notes from it and it did allow me to refocus the way I think just in time for the new year. I'd recommend it to someone who hasn't read too many books on the topic already.

It is a rare day that I give a book a bad review. Find Your Happy was tediously repetitive, lacking in citations for reference studies, and sorely in need of a good editor for the terribly constructed, grammatically incorrect sentences. I forced myself to read to the end, hoping to find some redeeming quality but was sorely disappointed. If you have ever followed any inspirational blog or read any inspiration book, don't waste your time with this one. There is nothing new here.

Was really excited to get this book after following Shannon's blog and watching some of her videos. But I was honestly disappointed in the elementary approach. Maybe I'd already found my happy by the time I finished it, but I found nothing revolutionary in this book.
