3.5⭐ overall
Read (listened) to this one with the kiddos. My son and daughter are very into Minecraft right now and when I saw this was on the Audible Plus catalog and narrated by Luke Daniels I thought this would be a great book to dive into with them. We slowly listened on the way to and from school and soccer practice and it was quite enjoyable! Especially for the kids. I really appreciated how the author incorporated the video game into the book. So many times books that are based on games try to make it realistic and take out the "video game-y-ness" out of it, but I loved that Steve was diving into his inventory and the NPCs where just random meandering characters. I really liked that about the book.
Not a book that is gonna knock your socks off, but I was definitely more impressed than I thought I would be.
And of course Luke Daniels did an amazing job narrating the book. He's just very good.
