Private investigator Nick Tremain had accepted this case as a last-ditch effort save his floundering agency. His prime suspects turned out to be a dotty astrologer and his daughter -- an emerald-eyed beauty of a daughter! How could he maintain his last shred of professional dignity when all he could think about was getting Diana Stewart into his arms? . . . What was the mysterious, and obviously overqualified, young man doing looking for employment in Diana's shop? Diana just couldn't believe Nick was really interested in her father's footsteps. He did seem harmless with that engaging smile and those turquoise-blue eyes, but why was her father suddenly predicting doom?

I enjoyed this book a lot, it had astrology, stars, tarot and a lot of drama. The hero is a PI whose business is in trouble because of his ethics so he accepts a job from a guy he doesn't like, because his client thinks his mother is being duped by an astrologer. He goes undercover at the House of Ishtar and meets Diana and Felix, the accused. Felix may be quirky but he doesn't seem dishonest and Diana the daughter doesn't like him at first. I liked the romance a lot, Nick is soon convinced of their innocence and likes all of them, then the cards reveal the truth about him. The whole Felix being kidnapped thing was crazy and I loved how the hero/heroine were opposites, she was a vegetarian and a health nut while he liked coffee, meat etc..a perfect match and the astrology bit added fun to the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It only took me a couple of days, and since the moment I'd picked it up, it was hard to lay down. The story is about..... I won't even tell you. Laura's writing is very approachable, and not a moment went by that the story dragged on which is what I find with many writing styles. One thing I can say that I wasn't used too was the switch between both protagonists perspective in the SAME paragraph/page. This was new to me... Nevertheless, I hadn't minded because it surprisingly brought the story together. I would definitely reccomend this to a friend, I've already put the story on to a few people!
