This is one of my favorite homeschool resources. I almost always agreed with the way she presented history and she did a great job dealing with false religions.
I did skip/skim a lot of the Bible stories, since we were learning those in bible study and sunday school, and focused on the historical context of those stories (which was extremely eye opening to me).
I did not agree with a lot of the language presented in the "how can I be a part of God's family" in the back of the book. But other than that, I loved the gospel presented in almost every lesson!

My favorite history book for homeschooling. It takes a long time to get through but I love getting such a rich focus on the events that happened up through Christ's death and resurrection. Some of my favorites were understanding the Roman Republic, the different Biblical characters, Cleopatra, the various Caesars and Jesus. God certainly does orchestrate history. His hand is truly involved in all of the events.

3.5 stars. We read lots of this, mainly for our Bible portion of our ancient history year. Story of the World vol. 1 is our main history spine. I liked using MOH for the Bible portion. I love how much great teaching helps and supplements are all included in this one book. I wouldn't think this one book was enough for high school, though. The negatives would be the writing style isn't very good at times, though a sample I read from vol. 4 was excellent. Perhaps she improved in her writing. Also on occasion I felt she wasn't strictly accurate on how she presented some of the Bible stories. I also didn't like how many Bible stories she included at the expense of other ancient history stories in this volume. I'd prefer to read the Bible along with ancient history, rather than use an ancient history text that is full of Bible story summaries. That is why I used Story of the World for our main history spine. My seventh grader had additional supplemental history assignments in Picturesque Tale of Progress this year. But I am thankful that her books have been a blessing to so many wanting a classical history curriculum from a Christian perspective.

Best history curriculum ever

Amazing selection of readings. Extremely interactive content. Adaptable for several ages, and you can teach all kids at the same time.
So many options for additional hands -on activities.
