Homemaking to the glory of God

I liked this book‘s intent to make home-making about worshipping God. Everything we do is worship in some way, whether to God of the Word or other gods of the world, so I appreciated that reminder. As a foundational starting point for Christian housewives, I think this book accomplishes its purpose to remind us our purpose is to serve God in everything we do, but I rated it three stars because I would have liked to see more application tips on prayer, Bible study, stewardship of God’s gifts, raising kids to know the Lord, etc. It’s a quick read, so though not a 4/5 star book, it is still worth reading in my opinion!

"Organizing from the Heart" was an excellent view of organizing and purging from a Biblical standpoint. This really brought a lot to my attention about the things my family and I had been doing; such as not being thankful for the bounty that God has given us, and not sharing the bounty with our family and friends. We should be opening our home to them instead of worrying so much about whether the house is perfection to other people or not. What matters is what works for us as a family and providing a space that makes others feel comfortable and welcome.
This book would be awesome for a Bible study and has lots of the word references in it. I've highlighted so much stuff on the pages and will be coming back to reference it as I continue on my journey in "Organizing from the Heart".

Even though I am pretty organized and I LOVE to clean, I still like learning more about organizing and I struggle with STAYING organized with things like closets. I finally got my pantry to stay nice all the time and it is awesome, as well as our master closet - which was a huge undertaking. I still have my kid's class/art work to put into the bins I bought. I am dreading it. I also have two more closets that really need a lot of work. I LOVE how this book incorporates God, because He should be at the heart of everything we do. I also believe that we ought to be good stewards of what He has given us and love how this book helps bring that point home. It has great ways to reflect and brings the Scriptures to help.

Love love love!

This is a GREAT book on organizing your home and keeping it that way. The assignments are simple and most of all doable especially for those of us who don't have a lot of time on our hands with kids and daily life.

Loved this book

This book is a wonderful resource for getting organized while involving God. The excerpts about Stella really make the book come to life. The Scriptures and reflection questions at the end of each chapter are a perfect addition. I definitely recommend reading this book.

This was a good, quick read. I think it could be a good, effective small group study, especially if everyone saw this as a need or area for improvement in their lives. I appreciated the approach of coming at this from worship and being ready to be hospitable.
